A students and Others

It’s convocation week and the whole school is bubbling with parties. You will see so many parents smiling with pride, happy to see their children make them proud. The students graduating all dress up in suits and other beautiful dresses with their gowns well ironed, posing for pictures and the students still in school look at them with admiration and dream of when they will also graduate from the school. But the biggest worry of the present students is how to get food from those celebrating.

Everywhere you will see people celebrating their friends or former roommate graduating but something peculiar about what everyone was posting is that everyone wants to be recognized with those that finished Top of their class or with a first-class. The way the toppers are celebrated by all while those that finished with a pass or lower credit are neglected is something that got my attention yesterday.

People celebrate those that are successful. I can’t help wondering how those whose grade isn’t nice will feel with the way people aren’t celebrating them well. It’s not an easy task to spend over 5 years in school. Over 5 years because of the constant strike by the teaching staff. And for some 6 years to 7 years due to different circumstances.

The winners are celebrated in this world we are in. People don't appreciate what you're doing but what you've done, keep pushing and always give strength to others.

No matter how big your dream is, you can achieve it if you put your heart into it. You are the one who decides how your life will play out, good grades or no good grades. Don't worry about what people think of you, care about what people think of themselves after they meet you. If a man blames his failures on others, he will never achieve success. If a man blames his failures on himself, he will be a winner someday.

The funny thing about life is that the grade doesn’t determine how successful they will be in life. Someone once posed a question at me. He said, “Why do A students work for the Government while B students work for C students”. This isn’t to say all A students end up unsuccessful, just that being an A or B student won't get you far if you don't have that entrepreneurial mindset or that hunger to succeed in this country we are in.

Success to me and what I want out of life is not about the syllabus or the grades I got on my report card. Success to me is how successful I am at doing what I love and being driven by my passion and drive to do more and more in life.

"So many people are so driven by this competitive nature, this need to be at the top of their class and be better than everyone else. But, after high school, you realize that grades don't matter. It doesn't determine how successful one will be in life." Education shouldn't be competitive but inspirational.

Hearing the unfortunate announcement that one would not be graduating with one's mates can be so devastating. But one shouldn't let that

Sharing the news with one's group, friends, family and trusted advisers or Parents is another issue. The best thing to do is to talk to those who experienced such before.

In conclusion, Good grades or Bad grades don't matter in life. It's the mindset that matters the most. So no matter what grade you graduate with, your future is in your hands. How you will turn out to be in future is left to you, take a step today.

Remembered in Secondary school after we finished writing our exams the parents made cakes and organised parties for their kids and at the end we all failed, it was really heartbroken

Grade without connection is a total downgrade. Our mindset matters.

Trueee, grades doesn't define our success in life, what matters is how we cope up with the reality. The success depends on us, wether we like to stay that way or wanting to achieve even more greater than what we want to achieve in life.

But good grades means how the people respect you, that's the saddest reality.

My dear friend, you made a very good point. During my college years, I saw many examples of my classmates, who couldn't even get a full grade in some semesters and had to retake the course, but they went straight to the doctorate degree, and now they are very successful businessmen, It was there that I realized that getting a good grade is not a criterion, there are other more important criteria.

Like the popular saying, we are all winners, no body is a loser, as long as we all graduate together and another important factor people forget again is how well connected you are.. If you get a lower credit and you're well connected than an A student.. You might succeed before the A student does

See the thing ehn whether people celebrate with you or not first of all celebrate yourself cause you have come a long way, I heard a bad news about someone who was about to convocate too in this school recently and had an accident whether true or not but we should be happy and thank God regardless.

Exactly brother, we can achieve it by hardwork, be consistent and focus. Determination also is good factor about our achievements. We should contribute our full efforts to achieve our dreams.

Circumstances Always like death angles. Winner is who is come over his love and pain. How are you btw ?

For me I wish everyone can be treated equal, some people are no longer getting the respect they deserve well I guess we all know the reason why.. Grades shouldn't make people look or feel worthless

Good grades definitely help but it's not something to be dependent on, it mainly serves as a leg up. If you're skilled, you'll be employable but if you just have the grades without the necessary skills, you'll lose out in the labour market faster than you can blink

Truly what you are doing doesn't matter to people, but what you have done. People are interested in results and not the process

I have a schoolmate before in high school.. He doesn't like studying and his grades were not high.. But he's already successful now. Grades don't matter.. it's the determination to succeed.

Words of wisdom, grades doesn't determine who become successful or not.

Good read! But I believe the grades matter, but we should allow it define us. One can graduate with poor grades and become more successful than someone who had first class, true. That doesn't mean we shouldn't aim to have good grades.

Thank you for this and everyone feeling this way needs to read this, it goes far beyond just grade and there’s absolutely no need clamoring on the what we have now but how well we can use it on the outside.. Our department is one that will suck one dry and I mean leave one life less, but regardless we will finish and everyone will move past this level into better things..

I wouldn’t blame anyone for not having such grades based on the level of seriousness, school is school and it happens but it’s time to move on.. Good write up brother
