Rings that bind
Last October 10, I ordered this couple fun ring for my niece. It is called Angel and Devil rings. One is black and the other is silver. The cheapest I can find was worth PHP55.00 (USD0.94). The item was originally priced at PHP76.00 (USD1.30). That was actually cheaper than the shipping fee which was PHP60.00 (USD1.03). That time, there was a shipping discount worth PHP60.00 so thankfully I saved a lot from that for the shipping was free.
The store has a one-time discount voucher worth PHP5.00 (USD0.086) which I applied on top of the shipping fee discount. Then, I redeemed 12 Shopee coins which was the maximum amount of coins that I can redeem for that particular purchase.
All in all, I was able to save PHP77.00 (USD1.32). From PHP115.00 (USD1.97), it came down to PHP38.00 (USD0.65).
The expected date for this to arrive was October 23. However, that day arrived but my order did not. Usually, my orders arrive on or before the expected date.
Good thing there is a tracker informing me the movement of my order. The last update I had was October 20 stating that the parcel arrived at the station. To which station, I do not know.
I understand that the order came from overseas. According to the tracker, my parcel arrived in Manila from China last October 16. So the delay was not from the seller. The movement of the parcel was quick from October 16 until the 17th. I was again updated on the 19th and the 20th and then nothing.
This is the first time that I experienced this kind of delay so I am concerned. I have paid my order in full. I was thinking that I can forget all about it for it was a small amount. I am willing to lose that just to have a peace of mind. You see, I'm a worrier that's why I can't help but think like that.
I gave it time and waited on the 23rd. When my order did not arrive, I then sought out the help desk of the app and sent a query about my order. There was a message box that states there is a delay in orders.
Last month, there was an issue about this app wherein a lot of employees have been laid off. This could be the reason why orders are not moving quicker than it should.
Yesterday, I had a call from an unregistered number. Good thing I answered because most of the time, if a number called me, I do not answer unless I was sent an SMS first.
The delivery guy did message me but I haven't read the message right away. Some delivery companies do not call but would knock on your gate/door and shout for your name which is embarrassing especially in a neighborhood like us where houses are right next to each other and sound echoes and carries over everywhere.
Excuse my hand but those are the rings that I have tried. The black is on my ring finger but it is not that black. The ring pictured on the app was darker and not as shiny. I thought they were of the same size but the one on my pinkie does not fit my ring finger. You can easily adjust them though but I don't want to do that.
I don't know anything about rings. I just took a photo and sent it to my niece. She seems delighted by it. She will be receiving that in December when they come home.
All's well that ends well.

Burnt sausages woke me up
You know the drill. When one prompt inspires one after the other here in read. So this one was from @Duvinca but accordingly, it was inspired from someone else that was inspired by someone else and so on.
>I've already read other responses like those by @Coolmidwestguy who in turn was inspired here by the text written here by @LeonaReed who hopefully is feeling better now. She answered about these questions of sleep and health @Amjad_Ali_Waince who was talking about all this in an interesting article that you should read here. https://read.cash/@Coolmidwestguy https://read.cash/@Coolmidwestguy/sleep-ff08ba43 https://read.cash/@LeonaReed/a-good-sleep-a-response-to-amjad-ali-0d741f9e https://read.cash/@Amjad_Ali_Waince https://read.cash/@Amjad_Ali_Waince/what-you-can-give-up-for-good-sleep-314dcdb5#comment-cbf5cc77
That's what Duvinca said in this post. https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82
So, the questions are:
Without further fuss, here goes my answers.
What do you do for good sleep? https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82#what-do-you-do-for-good-sleep
Drinking lots of alcoholic beverage.
I am drinking, nay, just finished a cup of bugnay wine. What is bugnay (wild cherry)? According to Google:
>Antidesma bunius is a species of fruit tree in the family Phyllanthaceae.
It is a native to Southeast Asia and Australia. Now that's something we have in common. Interesting where it really originated from.
This particular bottle that I bought is addicting because it really sweet. The alcoholic content is masked by the sweetness. You know what they say about wine: kills you slowly.
Not all the time do I drink. Only when the mood calls for it.
Other times, I tire myself so that when I lie down, I sleep right away. Other times, I'd watch anything online which is mostly the case.
Do you recognize the link in sleep and Food? https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82#do-you-recognize-the-link-in-sleep-and-food
Duvinca wrote a scientific fact about it but for me, maybe there is a link. When I eat too much, it makes me want to sleep. We have a saying here that after every heavy meal, respect the food and rest or better yet sleep/nap. Then again there is a contradicting belief about that wherein we should not sleep after a heavy meal for it is linked to "bangungot" or sudden death.
"Stress kills sleep" what is your opinion? https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82#quotstress-kills-sleepquot-what-is-your-opinion
Maybe lack of sleep will kill you? Stress can cause a lot of things and one of that is insomnia. It does happen for I witness it all the time from my partner wherein sleep deprivation happens when there are lots of things that needs to be done as demanded by work. It is frustrating to watch especially when all the remedies you know does not work. We don't want to be dependent on sleeping pills that's why we stay away from that as much as possible. That's why manage your stress better, your work, your time for we don't want to sacrifice our health.
What can you give up for good sleep? Alcohol or coffee. https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82#what-can-you-give-up-for-good-sleep-alcohol-or-coffee
Alcohol. I can easily give that up for coffee is life! Most of you know what coffee for me is a downer. I drink coffee before I go to bed to make me sleep better. I drink coffee when I wake up to perk me up but then make me sleepy later on and then I drink more coffee lol! I know, it's weird, but that's how it works for me.
Do you think going early to bed is guaranteed for dreamy sleep? https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82#do-you-think-going-early-to-bed-is-guaranteed-for-dreamy-sleep
I don't have trouble sleeping nowadays unlike before when I was working night shift. When I go home, I would go from room to room just to find the right place where I can be comfortable and I can sleep. It was funny at first and my family find it weird because they would surprisingly find me sleeping in their room but overtime they have been used to it. Sometimes I would sleep on the couch or even in the hammock.
Now, I am what they call "masandal tulog" meaning wherever I lay my head or when I close my eyes, in minutes I'd be snoring to dreamland lol!
EXTRA: And **what about my dreams?** https://read.cash/@Duvinca/time-to-sleep-a35e1a82#extra-and-what-about-my-dreams
I have been posting some of my dreams that I can remember. The other day, I found myself suddenly waking up because in my dream I had been cooking sausages and forgot all about it. I don't know why but that time I smelled something burning in my sleep. However, there was nothing on the stove that time or anything burning. It was only just a dream so I went back to bed. I was surprised myself why I was suddenly awoken by that.
There goes my sleep post for today. I have no idea what to write today. Thankfully, I have saved this post by Duvinca. One prompt down and more to go.

Morning musings.
For the past three days, I was able to go out for morning walks and I felt great! I managed to make 10k steps and more. From the moment I step out of our unit, the count begins until I reach 10k then that's the time I walked my way to our jeepney terminal going home.
I was hoping it is going to be colder months but as early as 7 a.m. I can already feel the heat of the sun. As some of you know, the reason I go for a walk before the sun is up is to avoid the heat.
I was lucky to see the sunrise yesterday with beautiful rays like that, shooting colors to the sky as far as it can reach.
The second photo was a food truck at the park. There used to be one food truck then but now there are three. I wonder if more will follow. I only tried one and had coffee.
These are the photos I would like to share for now. Cheers!
It pays to be careful with what you eat
For the past couple of days, I have been having cravings at night where I normally don't. I usually experience this kind of hunger pangs or hunger pain whenever I drink 3-in-1 coffee. That's the reason why I stopped drinking instant coffee because of that. There are still rare occasions that I do that. I just have to make sure that I have eaten or I am about to eat or when I know I will be eating soon.
What happens with hunger pangs is that your blood level will be low, your stomach growls and grumbles asking you to be merciful enough to please eat. At times, I would feel clammy and cold and I break out in sweats. I would usually eat bread or something and then I'll be okay. Other times, I just let it pass.
I searched Google for what causes hunger pangs/pain and these are some reasons why we feel this.
>Hunger pangs may be your body’s way of telling you that it needs more nutrients. You may also experience hunger pangs because your stomach has become accustomed to a certain feeling of fullness. -Healthline https://www.healthline.com/health/hunger-pangs#causes
According to the site, lack of sleep and stress can cause this as well. Also, the quality and quantity of food that you ingest.
Which makes me realize we haven't been eating food rich in fiber lately.
So, today, we agreed on eating that for now and more later.
We had salad, chicken and wine earlier. I purchased this wine from a nearby store and it tasted sweet. It's what I have known bugnay wine to be. I'll be looking out for this particular wine next time. It's not indicated in the label how much alcohol was in it. I'm guessing 3-5% because it is sweet really and unlike the previous wines we have had, you don't feel the effect of alcohol right away.
Anyway, we have had fresh carrots, bell pepper, lettuce, leeks, cucumber and boiled eggs. We just bought cooked chicken to add to the mix. We decided not to add nuts. I'll just munch on that later and probably the leftover cucumber and carrots.
I can also make some sandwich out of those and probably just adding cheese.
Also, I saw Nueva Vizcaya oranges sold in the market at a cheaper price than months before. I bought a kilo of that too and will be buying more later on. I do like citrus fruits a lot.
What I don't like with these oranges is that it's like a gamble. Although they are sweet, you don't always have juicy ones. The degree of sweetness also varies per fruit which is really interesting how that happens.
This is a reminder to eat more fruits and vegetables. I am a meat lover but I do like veggies and fruits as well. I am no expert when it comes to diet but we should learn how to balance what we eat.
Sharing with you this photo that I took earlier when I went out for a walk.
I like it when the rays are like that, reaching as far as they can. When this happens, they don't last that long that's why I took this photo even though it was not a clear view just in case I will not be able to reach the spot where there is a clearer view in time before the rays disappeared.
This is the lead image taken some meters away from the photo above.
Sunday bliss
I had taken my morning walks today and yesterday and I felt great! Just the thing I needed. I felt the effect on my body - fatigue and some aches here and there but it's all worth it.
It's now Sunday and such a bliss so far.
Not the best quality of photos. These were taken yesterday. I like how you can see the perfect circle shape or outline of it. Of course it's not that visible here for my phone's camera is limited when it comes to its zoom. Also, I pushed the colors and all to make it look prettier. Never mind the noise. I like it though because it has some kind of effect to the overall photo.
I was not able to post it right away nor was I able to make posts here or in other platforms because I slept the whole day. When you age, what your mind wants to do your body does not agree. I am writing this and I am yawning lol! It means I might be going back to taking a nap. I can still feel the effect of my walk from yesterday. 10,000 steps a day is the recommended number of steps. I did achieve that and more so rest is a must.
Anyway, in the afternoon, met with friends again for coffee and dinner. We tried one of the new cafes here. It was not a great experience. It's one of those places that you are just okay visiting it once. You may want to go back there again if there was an upgrade for the better.
Most of our discussion was centered around the fact that my friend's daughter will be spending a year overseas for her OJT. Of course, our friend was concerned about her regarding her independency and survival skills.
Generations today tend to be focused on academics and achievements. While that is good, how about simple personal skills like cooking, doing the laundry, etc.
We were the generation of in between - just when internet is becoming a revolution. Back then, when ever we need to research something, we would scour the library. If we are not satisfied, we would go to other libraries. There is that sense of improvising, find solution to problems. Simple as this, it was a training applicable in life.
We have to build that in kids. Because everything is within their reach at the tip of their fingers with just a click, they think it is the same in life. When they are faced with problems, they don't know what to do anymore.
Again, the question of where does the fault lie? Is it the parents?
My friend's daughter is an achiever in school. She has been consistently a dean's lister all her college years, very responsible when it comes to academics. When it comes to things outside academics, she cannot be relied upon.
That's why the concern of my friend is legit. One cannot help but worry how she will make it away from home.
Then again, some training can be done outside of home. We are humans and our survival instinct will kick in. I hope that the reminders that we have been getting from home and school and other people will be remembered and applied for our survival.
If you think my friend is overreacting, take my other friend.
Her 14-year-0ld son is still scared to cross the street and can't go to school on his own. We kept telling our friend that she sheltered and probably her kids too much. We encourage her to start training her son to do those things on his own. However, who are we to judge. She is concerned about accidents and other stuff and that is understandable.
Keep reminding kids. Be patient with them. We may have to tell them again and again and again but the training and reminder they receive early on will not be forgotten. Start training them young. You can't always be there for them.
Anyway, Sunday bliss is listening to this.

I hope your day is treating you better. Choose kindness!
Morning rush post
Yesterday had been a busy day for me. I have mentioned before that we lost a client. However, new ones are assigned to us every now and then and yesterday I had one assigned to me that's why I had to focus on that.
I am on the adjustment mode, adapting and coping with it. There were lots of errors but that is understandable. I can't perfect that in one sitting. Also, new information and instructions were given in one drop so it takes time to absorb all that and apply them.
When one door closes, more doors will open and with that many things come through that door. Like flood gates that have been opened, we can't catch everything.
If you are starting something new, don't be too hard on yourself. It's always a learning process. There is always something to learn and unlearn. What's important is that we are willing and open to change.
Sometimes we feel that others are bringing us down and look down upon us but we should develop a thick skin and learn as much as you can. Everything is a test and we have to prove more to ourselves what we can do.
Trust in yourself more. You know you can do it. Learn to filter things that can affect your mental health and emotional health.
When I was done with work, I had to go on Hive to post something. I had to for I have to complete the challenge this month.
That photo was posted there and this is the post I made in hive about that for Wednesday Walk. https://ecency.com/hive-147010/@leeart/christmas-feels-for-wednesday-walk
Do you think Christmas comes too soon?
I mentioned in that post that I am not yet in the festive mood. Maybe as the day draws nearer, then that will be time that I can. However, I do like these decors and it is one of the things I look forward too.
It had been my mission before that I want to take photos of Christmas trees around the city but that is yet to be done. I hope I can do it this time.
It would be interesting to see the different kinds of Christmas trees. Some have different color theme.
I wonder too what would be this city's Christmas tree would be like.
Now that I have time to post an article, I came here in read and made this one before going about my day. We just finished our breakfast, pancakes, egg and coffee for now. I don't feel like eating heavy one but I will surely do that later at lunchtime.
I don't know how this day is going to be so I took this opportunity while I can. I'll be dropping by here and then to visit some of you.
The lead image I used was taken from a different establishment. That's a new hangout here in the city. I have been passing that during my walks then and glad that it is now open for business.
It's a beautiful day and the sun is shining brightly. I hope this carries on through the weekend. We have another storm on the way unfortunately but I hope we will not be affected by it that much.
It's still Thursday but I am so looking forward for the weekend. How about you?
240 characters
I checked the freewrite community in Hive and came across the ZapFic Monday post. There you get to write 240 characters or less using the word prompt.
I don't feel like posting there so I thought why not join in the fun.
It was not my intention to join but when I checked the community and saw that, I gave it a go.
Here is my entry: https://ecency.com/hive-161155/@leeart/i-cried-wolf
If you are in Hive and you want something to write, this would be a great idea especially if you are aiming for the Hive Power Up Month.
For those who don't know what Hive Power Up Month is, it is a challenge wherein you either post once a day where you set your reward to 100% HP for one of your posts or you can just power up at least 1 Hive a day and that's it. What's good about this challenge is that you can choose either of those two.
If you don't feel like writing, then you can just power up.
You can check your progress in hivebuzz.
Be careful not to miss one day for that will invalidate you from the challenge. I missed last month's challenge for I forgot to power up or make a post for one day. What I do now is to check my progress before I go to sleep and before 7:00 a.m. the next day just to be sure. Sometimes hivebuzz is not updated right away so I have to re-check my progress again. Just in case I made the error of not setting the reward to 100%, then I can power up instead.
If you complete the challenge, you will be rewarded with HP for three weeks. That will give you a stronger voting power.
Although I could have easily powered up, I still challenged myself to write something.
I thought it would be easy to do the ZapFic Monday challenge. I actually drafted three or more entries, editing and re-editing those. Once satisfied with my entry, I then published thinking it was already good but then edited it again.
That was a fun exercise. Now I have a reason to post here too lol!
We all can relate to the word "judgment."
We see it all the time and notice how people are quick to judge especially in social media. We all know that we we see online has deeper meaning. We should know by now.
It's still a challenge though not to judge others. I admit I have caught myself judging others all the time so I have to reprimand myself.
Anyway, it's another Tuesday and my day has already ended. Others are probably just about to end or just about to start.
I thought it would be a lovely weather today after experiencing a nice afternoon yesterday only to experience cloudiness and gloominess again today.
Something to cheer me up is that it wasn't a stressful day for me. I wanted to watch some movies but I just can't bring myself to continue watching. I would start one and then lost interest and then start-stop another without my heart into it really so I finally stopped, logged in to Hive and here.
Oh, I had a weird dream last night. The only thing I can remember was we were in a moving car. I am with friends but can't recall who they were. We were about to collide with another car but then I woke up. The intensity of that dream was still felt for a few seconds as I came out of that dream.
That was the only part I remembered and then I went back to sleep again.
How about you? How was your day? Any weird dreams lately?
When instincts are right
This is just an anecdote, a day in my life.
Yesterday, we felt the brunt end of the storm that affected our country. We have bursts of strong rains accompanied by gusts of wind and a cloud of fog every now and then.
We were just here in our unit doing whatever we are doing.
We have been deciding whether to order food online or just go out, rain or not. It was not until late in the afternoon did we finally decide to go out. My partner was the one who asked if we want to go out. Feeling under the weather, I said yes to hopefully lift the mood.
When we were out on the road waiting for a ride, there was another episode of strong rains. We have been waiting for some minutes but still no taxi available so we took a jeepney instead. Good thing the jeepney terminal is just a few steps away else we would have been soaking wet.
When we reached the city center, the rain let up thankfully.
From our jeepney stop to the restaurant we want to eat, it was just about 400 meters. Easy walk. Good thing too that the way going there is mostly shaded.
This is beside a terminal and it is one of the famous local restaurants - Good Taste. We initially sat at an empty table close to the entrance while waiting for tables by the window to be vacated. We didn't have to wait long.
I took the photo above while waiting for our order. We ordered bulalo (beef soup) and pansit (stir-fried noodles) and coffee. There were no cakes or pastries available that time.
The staff who took our order said that the bulalo will take about 50 minutes so we agreed.
The pansit which was for take out arrived first. We then waited for an hour for our order. When our order was not arriving, we called for another staff and asked to follow up on the bulalo.
She did and came back to tell us the bulalo was out of stock. Nobody told us that earlier.
We then asked for our bill and checked out and left. I didn't want to stress about it so we headed home.
Instinct told me earlier that day not to go out anymore and just order food. Because I wanted my partner to feel better, I gave in to going out.
Anyway, all is well for we have the pansit. It was still warm when we got home and that's what we ate. Besides I already had a cup of coffee and coffee makes everything feel better.
When we met with some friends today and relayed that experience, one of them said that the management of that said restaurant is different from the other branch. That branch we went to yesterday was the main branch. It is a family business. However, when the head of the family died earlier this year, each branch was given to different children. I guess they didn't agree with the way things are managed because the other branch is better in terms of food and service.
There is still some leftover from the pansit. Come and join me.
What a day spend with friends over food and coffee. It's good to catch up with those you haven't seen in a long time. Surely nine years is long enough. Almost a decade!
We may meet each other along the way but there is no time to chat for long because we have to be somewhere.
We chat each other online but it doesn't feel right. We can update each other online anytime we want.
However, spending time with them face to face makes it even more real. We want that human connection in real time without the barrier of the virtual world.
Note, I am talking about friends here. Not strangers or mere acquaintances.
The photo here was taken in one of the establishments we went to earlier. You can check more photos here https://ecency.com/hive-179017/@leeart/balls-of-reflection
Information cancellation
Beginning last night until now, we are experiencing downpour. It's another gloomy and rainy day for us here brought about by the storm Neneng.
We just finished breakfast and I am having my first cup of coffee and I feel pumped to write here before laziness overpowers me later on. I am writing as I listen to the cadence of wind and rain on the roofs and houses outside.
When it rains this long, it saturates everything causing erosions and flooding. We don't have a storm signal but it feels like at least storm signal no. 2. However, that is how nature works. The farther you are from the eye, the more saturated it gets.
I was reading a post earlier online about how information saturation is happening right now. The effect of it was we tend to cancel these information.
Just like when algorithms online would tend to pester you with ads and links about a certain product you have just researched. Say you have searched for a beauty product, then it will suggest to you everything about that product and you keep seeing posts or ads or links about that product. It is enticing at first but you grow tired of it that you tend to ignore that product later on.
After watching a video clip online, the suggested videos would be videos by the same content creator or other videos related to that. If I keep skipping the next video, then it will suggest me otherwise.
While ignoring can work in stuff like that, I think other information should not be ignored just like the basic motivational and inspirational videos, like those that really give useful information.
We all have different niche or interests or topics that we are well versed about or that we are comfortable writing about. We try to give new information to try to make it interesting hopefully.
But how about the topics that we all know in general? When we read about them, what do we do with it? How does it affect us? We read about those day in, day out not only here in read but in other platforms and online.
Do we grow tired of it that our brain would rather ignore it?
Or do we focus on one thing and keep building on that ignoring the rest of the information because we think it does not apply to us anymore?
We keep pushing others to do their best, to achieve, to succeed - all about self. How about your emotional skills? We are all about intellectual we tend to ignore feelings anymore.
I guess what I'm trying to say is to balance the information that you consume. You have to choice what you want to ignore or not but make sure that those you keep are beneficial not just to you but to everyone else.
The lead image was taken before publishing this post. That is how it looks outside right now - foggy and wet.
The first line of this song fits this weather.

I'd rather go for horror movies
I have read these questions from BlueFlipper's post that you can find here. https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1
So let's get on with it right away.
Would you rather go on holiday alone or with people you dislike? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-go-on-holiday-alone-or-with-people-you-dislike
Most of you know that I am not a people person. I can get along with others. I don't like holding grudges or disliking/hating people. It's not healthy. I'd rather keep my peace intact. To do that more effectively is to keep away from toxic people. Therefore, I'd rather go alone on a holiday. Besides, I don't have to worry about others or blaming others.
Would you rather watch a horror movie on your own or a bad comedy with people you don't like? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-watch-a-horror-movie-on-your-own-or-a-bad-comedy-with-people-you-don039t-like
I've just watched The Accursed. While it doesn't have that much of a scary factor, it has surprises here and there. Why would you even watch a movie with people you don't like and a bad comedy at that? Whoever came up with this question has some issues lol!
Would you rather gulp a whole bottle of beer or milk? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-gulp-a-whole-bottle-of-beer-or-milk
Beer please. I'd choose the sweet-tasting ones and less alcohol content so that I won't have to feel the effect of alcohol right away. I have done that in the past and of course it was a disaster. I didn't feel the effect of alcohol right away so we kept drinking and drinking thinking I'd be fine but got wasted. Still, I'd go for beer rather than milk. Milk gives me upset stomach most of the time.
Would you rather be alone or be with someone you are moderately happy with it? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-be-alone-or-be-with-someone-you-are-moderately-happy-with-it
Seriously. The person who made these questions had issues. Again, I'd rather be alone. However, if I have no choice but with someone I am moderately happy with, I'd go for it. At least there's some hint of happiness in there and I'd rather build on that and make it full happiness.
Would you rather spend the next 10 years in China or Russia? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-spend-the-next-10-years-in-china-or-russia
I'd choose China. There are so many places in China that are unexplored or less explored especially natural sights and wonders. Remember Avatar? Check out Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. I would also like to visit Forbidden City and the Great Wall and other cities there.
Would you rather be attending Zoom calls or meetings in the office? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-be-attending-zoom-calls-or-meetings-in-the-office
Zoom calls. I don't have to prepare that much and worry about the hassle of travel and such going to the office. Zoom calls are more convenient.
Would you rather give or receive a lap dance? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-give-or-receive-a-lap-dance
I don't know how to dance. I'd definitely be embarrassing myself if I do so receive a lap dance then. Anyone willing to volunteer? lol!
Would you rather lose your smartphone or car keys? https://read.cash/@BlueFlipper/what-is-best-for-you-it-can-be-worst-for-others-aeb560d1#would-you-rather-lose-your-smartphone-or-car-keys
I don't have a car so I'd rather not lose my smartphone. I've read that there were cars that can be accessed through an app. I'd probably have that as back up as key to my car if ever I would have a car. You can do so much with your smartphone nowadays that's why it is becoming more and more of a necessity.
How was your day?
We slept throughout the day. It was one of those days that you just want to make up with the lack of sleep you had throughout the week although there is no way we can make up for lost sleep.
Anyway, it's been raining here so it's adding to the drop of temperature making the call of the bed more appealing.
One point I thought the power will be cut but so far it did not.
Anyway, the lead image I used was from my Hive blog. This weather makes me want to drink some beer lol! You can check more here. https://ecency.com/hive-168869/@leeart/dinner-at-final-option-s-german-bistro
It's been eight days since I logged in here. I didn't realize it was that long. I am mostly in read. You can check me out there if you want https://read.cash/@ARTicLEE
Sharing the latest photo I shared there.
I was not able to visit last night. I wanted to do it later in the evening so I went to bed thinking it will just be a nap but we all know what happens when we do that. Next thing I know, it was already morning.
I have been reading from others that read was down. Some haven't been visited, no views or rewards.
I guess I took the right time to leave you, Rusty :D
My happy place in a photo
The lead image I used was taken at Camp John Hay. This popped up in my fb memory. That was 10 years ago and we haven't been back since. That road leads to the US ambassador's residence that's why it's supposed to be private.
We just came from the DENR area that time which is across the road going the residence. The entry is gated of course for it is a private residence.
However, the guard that time was kind enough to let us in. We asked permission if we could walk this way going to the trail. There are several trails here but the major one is the yellow trail and that was our intention.
Instead of going around to the main entrance which was several kilometers away, we thought we could just walk through this road and find our way to the trail.
The guard willing agreed. It is easy to find your way to the trail anyway. Even if we followed the road, it would still take us to the yellow trail.
I really like this photo. If ever I will be given an opportunity to own a property, I would like my driveway to look like that, full of trees lining up the road.
Looking at this photo takes me to a happy place. I can still remember how pleasant the afternoon was. It was a cool one because this was the -ber months and brrr are the days just like now.
It was after the rainy season too that's why everything is lush and fresh.
***How are you? Mentally? Physically? Emotionally? Financially?***
We always say that happiness is a state of mind. It was a tough day for me yesterday. Family problems do arise. Personalities clash. Frustrations arise from misunderstanding and expectations. Respect and authority and power are misused and abused sometimes. Relationships break because we cannot meet eye to eye. Some are stubborn. Some are selfish.
Work environment can be stressful. We are bored after doing the same thing over and over again. We are demotivated because we think we are better than others. We don't find enjoyment anymore. We want our leaders to do something.
How do you find your motivation? How do you keep going?
At the end of the day, we don't need others to make us happy. It is within us to make that decision. The choice is ours.
Why are we so concerned about what others would say?
As long as you are not harming others or yourself, then do you. Be you. Whatever we do, there will always be those who will say something against us. Ignore them.
They are not you. You are you.
We all have differences and that's okay but that should not be the reason for us to hate others, ignore and cancel others.
Choose kindness. Choose happiness.
601 and counting! You rock!
I just noticed that I have now 601 crazy people following a crazy person like me lol!
I think the last count I had was 530 back in June. That was the last time I made a report about some of my stats here. I haven't done one since.
Thank you guys for your support. I don't see all of that number in my posts and we all know that that doesn't have that much impact if at all. However, it is still good to see some increase in that. I hope that BCH will go back to that value in USD. Holidays are coming BCH. Where you at?
I might need another laptop for the battery of my laptop is not charging again. I can still use the laptop but I had to keep it plugged. This is the same issue I have had before and this is a second replacement already. I can't keep buying new battery for it. That's why I have to save for a new laptop instead.
Anyway, we have another storm affecting the northern most of our country but we are still feeling the effect of it for it had been raining cats and dogs. I hope those affected by the storm will not suffer from it.
I would like to share this short story of sorts that I posted in Hive as entry to a freewrite contest with this photo as a prompt.
That photo was taken here. Also, that was taken from pixabay. https://ecency.com/hive-161155/@freewritehouse/a-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words-rjg60f
So here it goes. I called this The Last and Lost Transmission. https://ecency.com/hive-161155/@leeart/the-last-and-lost-transmission
*I was watching a video online about how the world would end and at the end there was a link which I thought was a continuation of this video. I clicked on that and it directed me to another video.*
*At first it was all black and I thought there was nothing in it. Then a voice spoke saying that the video was from the future: October 2025.*
*(Okay, I thought. Just another prank. It's just one of those theories again.)*
*The voice then went on to relate that he was the last man on Earth. Everyone have fled or were dead. He volunteered to "reset" the Earth. (I didn't know you could do that, I thought.) They have found the one lone tree that will do it, the voice said. We were given no choice but to reset. We have left the Earth treeless save for this one tree. We have spent our resources discovering other planets, exploring the space, the deep and the unknown but we have not taken into account of cultivating, enriching and protecting our Earth. We have destroyed everything and almost everyone. Life had been dying so many have left for other planets.*
*They recently discovered that there is a tree which will then restore everything but that also means destroying anything and everything - a Big Bang once again and it will take billions of years for the Earth to be restored. The details will soon be revealed he said but for now let this be a warning.*
*When they found the tree, volunteers were asked but no one dared. The guy decided to do it since he has nothing left anyway. No one to care for. No one to live for. He lost everything.*
*He approached the reset tree and did the ritual to summon the god of nature. Once done, he was thrown rather forcefully and suddenly and flung in the air a thousand feet off the ground then hit the ground with the same force losing consciousness upon impact. For how long, he couldn't tell. He thought he was done for but regained consciousness to make one final transmission.*
*He was awakened by rumbling, thunder and lightning and the earth shaking. Then he saw the towering figure before him. He was amazed and terrified at the same time. There had been no thunder or lightning for so long and where did all this water came from surrounding this magnificent creature?*
*He managed to get take a photo of this before everything went black again and the video ended.*
*That was a good movie, I said, or was it?*
How about you? What can you say about the photo above?
The lead image was taken from this other blog of mine Amigo Cafe. Good thing I finished posting this before my laptop suddenly died. Feel free to check for more photos. https://ecency.com/hive-127788/@leeart/amazing-nature-walk-around-amigo-cafe-and-viewdeck

The other half
Nights are longer and days are shorter nowadays. I thought a while ago that it was already 6 in the evening but I heard the siren of the city hall indicating the time which is 6 p.m. It was already dark outside that time. I was surprised how my day seem to have flown so quickly, quicker than it normal. Maybe because of how that - night comes early.
So then it's time for the continuation of my post from yesterday. There are 30 questions in Kacy01's post. I answered the first 15 in my previous post so now I will answer the rest. https://read.cash/@Kacy01/prompt-have-you-ever-c5a12662
Have you ever met someone famous?
The Azkals. They were our local football team. I wasn't a fan back then but because of the influence of some friends, I had been a fan for a week I think. that was the time that team came to the city to acclimatize themselves before heading to another county to compete. Unfortunately, we don't have that proper field for them to do that but they still went around the city playing on different fields at different schools. We followed them around too. The team never went back to the city since then.
Have you ever ridden a horse?
I never have. Funny though that we have horses here in the city for hire but I have never been on one. Maybe one of these days. I have been in a horse-drawn carriage though that we call "kalesa."
Have you ever received a Valentine's Day card?
Yes, I did. Back when I was in school we would make one for our classmates or teacher or loved ones. There used to be competitions in who will make the best card.
Have you ever seen a tornado?
In movies or TV or online. I haven't seen one in person. I have seen some small whirlwinds though.
Have you ever bought something expensive?
Yes, my laptop and DLSR back then were the most expensive ones I have bought. Also, our trip to other countries may also count.
Have you ever fallen off a bike?
Yes, I did.
Have you ever eaten raw fish?
Yes, I did. This takes me back to my first visit to a friend together with some mates. We had a raw tuna I think mixed with vinegar, onions, pepper and other spices and ingredients. It was fresh from the sea and they prepared it right there and then.
Have you ever sleep walked?
I can't say that I did. I don't recall ever been told about this especially when I was younger. As an adult, I never did.
Have you ever appeared on TV?
I haven't.
Have you ever seen the sunrise?
You all know the answer to this for I have been posting my sunrise photos here. The lead image was the sunrise photo I took last Sunday.
Have you ever rode a cable car?
I haven't yet. I can't recall if I did even a makeshift one.
Have you ever lost your wallet/purse?
I may have lost one or two. I'm not much of a wallet guy.
Have you ever dropped your phone?
Countless times. I always drop my phone and amazingly enough it still works after all these years.
Have you ever eaten really spicy food?
I always do. I haven't eaten tried the spiciest though. I'm not sure if I would dare.
Have you ever watched a play at the theater?
Yes. The last one I saw was at a university's theater here in the city. It was a musical. I can't say I enjoyed it that well because we were at the back and it was noisy. I can't concentrate well enough to the performance plus there were some glitches too.
Resharing this sunrise photo that I took up on the hill near us. This was taken when a storm was upon us. I miss going up there for a sunrise. Maybe I should do it again tomorrow for Wednesday Walk in Hive.
Anyway, another Tuesday done and we will be in the middle of the week again tomorrow.
I hope this finds you well.
Monday questions
It's Monday! Or was. There are still a few more hours before this day officially ends. How did the first day of the week went so far? I hope you started with a blast!
Me and my friends were supposed to meet with one other friend but that other friend canceled. We were scheduled to meet early but I guess she got confused with the dates and all so she rescheduled for next Monday.
Because we already cleared our schedule for this day, the rest of us still got together and had a brunch and coffee. We decided to meet early and go home early for we don't want to get caught in the rain. It did so after lunch but good thing it was not that strong. Yesterday, there was a sudden burst of rain and hailstorm. Weird weather we have.
Some of us went to grocery shopping before finally going home.
What I wanted to write about today though is from Kacy01's post Prompt: Have You Ever. https://read.cash/@Kacy01/prompt-have-you-ever-c5a12662
Have you ever swam in the sea?
Yes! I like going to the beach and enjoying the sea, sand and sun and sunset if I got lucky. I don't know how to swim though.
Have you ever fallen out of bed?
I did when I was younger. In general, I am not a fussy sleeper and I don't move that much in my sleep.
Have you ever had a scary dream?
The scariest that I remember vividly is a dream about a fetus that I saw in our school lab. It was my first time to see a fetus preserved in formalin in a jar. That bothered me a lot and had nightmare about it.
Have you ever held an animal?
Of course. Me! :D Growing up, we always had dogs until now back home but we don't have it here in our apartment. I get to caress our neighbor's cats on occasion though when it allows me to.
Have you ever gone skiing?
Not yet but that would be something I will do when given the chance.
Have you ever experienced an earthquake?
Definitely. We had one last month strong enough that it toppled one house in the next town. It caused more destruction where the epicenter was.
Have you ever laughed so hard you couldn't breathe?
Nope, not that hard but I did laugh where it doubled me over that it seems like I can't stop laughing. I don't recall though what caused it.
Have you ever broken a bone?
I haven't and I hope never.
Have you even been to a surprise party?
I haven't yet.
Have you ever called the teacher 'mom'?
Co-teachers who are moms we used to call them mommy as endearment but I haven't called any of my teachers before.
Have you ever been to another country?
Yes and I hope to travel to another country again soon.
Have you ever fallen asleep in a strange place?
Yes, I did. Going to places for the first time feels strange that sometimes you can't even sleep. We call that "namamahay."
Have you ever burnt food while cooking?
I did yesterday when I cooked pancake. I made a batter which I thought would fit the pan enough that I don't have trouble flipping it. However, it was a lot that it almost filled to the brim. It wasn't that burnt though but it's okay because I like the burnt parts anyway.
Have you ever forgotten someone's birthday?
I always do. My memory is not that great.
Have you ever played a practical joke on someone?
I would surprise my partner every now and then. That's the extent of pranks that I have done.
There goes the first half of the questions. I will be answering the second part next time.
Sunday Morning walk - the first of this month
I took this at a waiting shed beside a church. I discovered some months ago that You can actually have a view of the sunrise there. I do pass that by all the time and noticed that there are stairs going up to the roof but I thought there's nothing much to be seen there.
It was one of my morning walks that I climbed up the stairs and discovered that it is a nice place for sunrise.
I got lucky today for I was there at the right time to witness one. The colors quickly faded away.
Again, I was reminded that we shouldn't assume for things but rather try to do it see for ourselves what we can discover. Relying on our assumptions alone will mostly prove us wrong.
Also, grab opportunities while you can. Doing it later may be too late.
I have no plans whatsoever earlier today where to go. However, I have been feeling down again lately. I still have motivation to do things but the feeling of enjoying things, excited about doing them is what's lacking. I am getting that feeling of worthlessness again. I do feel that a lot but it's building up getting stronger. I feel the need to go for a walk because it does help in giving us happy hormones. It has been tried and tested and done and proven to be true and effective.
As most of you know, I usually bring our trash with me during these walks of mine and deposit that to areas where garbage are being collected. So after I did that, I then headed to the park.
When I got to the nearest mall, I was almost at 5k-step mark but I was feeling the effect on my body. I haven't walked that far in a long time and my body is adjusting again.
But I pushed on. I had to condition my body. I have gained weight again. We don't have a scale here to measure that but when you noticed your clothes are tighter, then you know you got bigger as what happened to me. It is a challenge to adjust again and to go back to old routines but I hope I can do this again.
When I got to the park, this was being set up. There was a race to be held that day. I don't know if it was bike or marathon but I saw lots of bikers milling around when I passed by the second time on my way.
I also noticed these clouds which look like a mountain.
Earlier boat riders at the park. You can see mist on the waters. It was colder than usual and it was not even 7 a.m. when I passed by. That's how early tourists are. It's smart to start early so you can cover more before things will get busy as the day progressed. It is a weekend so expect a crowd.
In the afternoon, it rained. I planned on going to the grocery but that had to be postponed.
It rained hard and there was hail even. Some places were flooded and those at the Session Road market encounter suffered for some tents and items were washed downhill by water. That's how hard the rain was.
Checking the weather, there are two storms heading our way with the possibility that it will merge into one but hopefully not.
I watched the sky for after the rain, I noticed the sky got lighter. I have a strong feeling there will be a rainbow and there it was. Two of them but the lighter one cannot be seen. I had to edit the phot to bring out the colors of the first rainbow.
After my walk this morning, I slept throughout the day. Exercise is important but rest is important as well. I am not getting younger anymore and recuperating takes longer than usual.
How was your Sunday? I hope all is well.
Careful what you wish for
Writing this as I listen to the rain outside falling hard. I planned on going out for a walk, a night walk for a change but the weather didn't agree it seems. So here I am drinking coffee, nay gulping cup by cup.
I browsed movies online trying to find something to watch and I came upon Hellraiser. According to Google:
*A second adaptation of the 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, which served as the basis for his 1987 film Hellraiser,* ***it is a reboot of the titular franchise*** *and the eleventh installment overall.*
Growing up, I have heard about this movie and have seen posters of it or trailers perhaps or I have watched a film or two even. I just can't remember. However, to me, just looking at the photos of the Pinhead made me think evil or the Devil itself. There is something very sinister about it.
Source https://www2.movieorca.com/movie/hellraiser-88951
I mean, look at that.
I just found out that Jamie Clayton played the Pinhead. I first saw her in the series Sense8. She was transformed and I didn't recognize her in the movie.
As I was watching the film, it started slow building upon the character of the main lead. I like how the film make you want to keep watching and find out what will happen next. The actors played their part well and are convincing.
The pacing of the movie from start to finish had me glued to my seat.
I also like the Lament Configuration or the puzzle box that was used in the movie. I wonder if those sold online is legit such that it can be transformed into different forms.
Anyway, I am fascinated with the artistry that was put into the film from the box to the costume and make up. Grotesque, gory or sick they may seem but I still admire the creativity put into it.
Once again this movie reminds us that greed will only be our downfall.
One character has it all - wealth and power. He doesn't need anything else but he wanted more. Another character was an ordinary man just wanting to make more money. They teamed up together but because both don't know when to stop, they put themselves in harm's way.
It boils down to choices. What do you desire most in life? Knowledge? Power? Wealth? Free from suffering and pain? What are you willing to sacrifice to obtain those and at what cost? Would you sacrifice the lives of others or even yourself?
We don't know when to say no sometimes. Someone call it the itch that you would love to scratch it is so hard to ignore. Once you scratched you almost don't want to stop.
We are curious creatures which is a good thing but it can also be our end.
So the choice is ours. Make better choices. We all make mistakes but we are given the chance to start again.
Things don't seem what they are and dealing with the Devil is tricky. Be careful what you wish for. What you want will not be what you expected it to be.
What is your pain? your pleasure? Your pleasure can be your pain and vice versa.
Now the rain began anew. I thought it will stop already so here I am continually gulping my coffee cup by cup.
How is your weekend going so far?
Choices, choices and more choices
Here are some creepy choices to choose from. I got this from BCH_LOVER. You can check her post Halloween Would You Rather. I don't celebrate Halloween. We do have All Saints' Day and All Souls' Days here in our country. We don't do that too but it is a good excuse to visit the graves of our dearly beloved and remember them. Don't make it a one-time thing though. Relive and keep the happy memories you have with your loved ones always. https://read.cash/@BCH_LOVER/halloween-would-you-rather-91d19bd3
So let's get on with the questions.
I'd rather be a ghost. Ghosts look better in general though.
Let's go live in a creepy castle. Haunted house is creepy already so why not make it grander? Go live in a castle.
I have walked through cobwebs already so I know how that's like. Why not try walking over eyeballs? I mean YOLO, right? Live a little.
Both! Slimy yet satisfying as they say in Lion King. Good source of protein.
Vampires look cool although werewolves look bad a$$ too. So why not go Underworld and meet someone who is half of each? That would be super cool!
I'm already living in a creepy castle so that makes it spooky. To complete that, I'd set a graveyard or better yet build a castle next to a cemetery so I can walk there anytime I want.
Both looks fun so I'd do them both. I haven't done any of that. I have joined apple eating contest before and won but I haven not tried apple bobbing.
I'd rather sell every sweet for $10. I just have to find the right buyer though. Hey, times are hard. I have to make a living.
Zombies have upgraded over the years. Army of Thieves? Army of the Dead? Train to Busan? Peninsula? All of Us Are Dead? Does any of this ring a bell? Witches on the other hand are way, way smarter. They can be everywhere all at once. Plus they can easily cast a spell on you so you can't run or resist them. I'd take my chances with the zombies.
I am not so keen about frogs - cold and slimy. I like to here them croaks though especially after the rain. I am not fond of cats either but I think I can handle stroking a cat better.
So I searched for additional questions for I had fun answering the ones above. The following questions were taken here. https://www.playpartyplan.com/halloween-would-you-rather/
Be scared or scare someone
I'd rather be scared than to scare someone. Or if I do scare someone, I'd make sure they won't have heart attack.
Eat Extreme Sour Warheads or Hot Tamales
I like spicy stuff and I do eat them all the time. I'd go for some sour ones. I remember the sour bubble gums we used to eat when we were kids. I wonder if they still have those.
Eat a live cockroach or play a game of Ouija
Ouija hands down!
Create a monster like Frankenstein or become one like Dr Jekyll
Aren't we all a little Dr. Jekyll inside? We have different personalities inside us and those come out depending on the people we are with. I'd rather be the monster rather than to create one.
Never celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving again
I never celebrate any of these. We can give thanks all the time. We don't need one day just for that.
Any plans for Halloween? All Saints'/Souls' Day?

Read more about our visit to Ritz Cafe here https://ecency.com/hive-152524/@leeart/until-the-last-rays-at
Of course we shouldn't bring food and drinks into the cafe. We go to establishments to enjoy what they can offer and not bring in outside stuff.
I'm not sure though if they have corkage in this particular cafe if you are still stubborn to bring outside food and drinks.
I can't believe it's now this late. I haven't been able to visit around here. I hope I can it tomorrow.
For now, it's rest for me so good night!
See you all next time.
What Dodo Fish taught me
First off, this is not about the game per se but about life points that I noticed from the game that can be relatable.
Dodo Fish is an app where you can get SHIB and DFISH while playing the game. It's free to download, free to join and free to play. https://goplay-cdn.kanlian.la/share/v1.0.5/index.html#/leaflet?invite_code=YEYJBP
I only play this whenever I have time to do so. Thanks to MomentswithMatti for introducing me this game.
Anyway, here are the things I want to share. We are all familiar with these so it's like a reminder to us all.
It's not about the winnings.
It's not about the farthest or the fastest. It's not about the biggest or the deepest as per the game. Sometimes even if I hit the max button to get me to the deepest part of the game, I still don't earn as much reward as compared to when I am on the shallower part. We are so focused on the goal sometimes that we miss the other opportunities lying open on our path which would help us in reaching our goal as well.
Timing is everything.
Slow down. Breathe.
I remember those times when I am late for class or work or for an appointment that I tend to rush. In the process, I commit more mistakes which delay me even more.
Another thing, we wanted to reach our goals right away. We wanted to get things as quickly as possible or that we worked so hard but it seems there is no end.
We end up getting stressed and frustrated. However, remember that there is time for everything.
One goal takes you to other goals.
Life is a test that's why we have to learn from it. We don't always get what we want. Not all at once. We have to work hard for what we want. When we do achieve our goal, let us not be complacent. However, take time to savor the winning moment even though how small a success that is. Learn to appreciate the process and the mistakes and then begin again.
There are many fish in the ocean.
In the game, you are only limited to a certain number of fish to catch. You can increase that as you earn more rewards. More rewards, more fish. The ones marked in glowing gold/yellow yield bigger rewards.
Although there are indeed lots of opportunities out there, we have to choose which one is best for us, which ones matter the most so that it will give us bigger returns with the same effort. In other words, play smart, work smart. Bigger doesn't always mean the best.
Invest in things that help you in the long run.
Learn and acquire more skills. In the game, you are given a free hook where you can catch SHIB and DFISH with it. That will last for three days once you install the game and play. After that free period, you will then have to purchase that hook if you want to earn more SHIB and DFISH. You are given free hooks if you opt not to purchase and that will still help you earn coins which you can then convert to DFISH.
We have to maximize our potentials by willing to be changed and to learn. Change is happening quickly around us. We have to learn to keep up with it if we want to take advantage of those opportunities.
Finally, rewards.
We all know that we have to do the work for us to earn our rewards. If we want something, then we have to be smart, learn the process, be patient and be committed. There will always be roadblocks along the way but don't give up. Keep going. We come here in read every day because we want to be rewarded but we have to post an article and engage. We have to work for it. Those who are sitting now and enjoying the fruits of their labor started from scratch too and they did the work to get to where they are now.
There goes my musings for today. Games are not all that bad. We can learn a thing or two from them too.
I use the white cup for eating and the black for my coffee.
What I do is pour some food in the white cup, for instance peanuts which is in the yellow one behind the cups. I then would pop some of the nuts in my mouth. This way I don't have to dirty my hands and save me from having to wipe debris and all that.
I don't eat directly from the plastic of the nuts so that I can share it to others if they ever want some. Keeping clean from my saliva and spit the plastic of the nuts.
I know. I'm a bit complicated.
I go nuts with nuts!
How long can you go without your phone?
I just finished watching Mr. Harrigan's Phone. It is available in Netflix. It is based on Stephen King's short story.
A quick search on the net will tell you the summary of it. It tells of a boy who made a connection with an old billionaire man, even befriending him.
You wouldn't think they'll be having such strong bond that even after the old man died, he would still be calling and texting from the grave. Was the old man really dead?
Watch and find out.
One thing mentioned there was about how the things we own tend to own us instead just like our phones, laptops, mostly all our material things, riches and wealth.
As simple as a phone, it takes so much of our time. How many times have you said "one more episode" and then enough? Until one becomes two, three and more.
Why? Because we are enjoying it you say. This is just a one-time thing you say.
The movie also touched upon the subject of how much information is out there. So many contents to consume just with the touch of our fingers.
We kept consuming now more than ever because it has become convenient.
We throw common sense out the window just for content.
We don't want to be accountable of the things we post online because of our "right" and "freedom." Entitled much.
When these bites back, we play the victim card.
How convenient.
We throw morals, honesty, kindness out the door to stay relevant.
Sometimes these developments in science and technology, advancement of things, upgrades, updates - they are causing us more harm than good. We use up our resources, destroying our planet and even humanity.
Also, what others have we want to have it too.
Are we any better than the lives of our ancestors?
If we don't have these advanced technologies, do you think you will survive? We misplace our phones for just a minute and we felt like we have lost a loved one already.
Would you be willing to live away from development free from phones and internet?
I saw this one the wall of a restaurant we have been to. This is just one of the quotes they have on their walls.
Do you agree that we are the one holding the map?
We are the one in control of our life in terms of what choices we want to take. Every day we are filled with choice and every choice has multiple other choices.
What choice did you make this day that you are satisfied with?
HappyAlice posted about being in love. You can check it here https://noise.app/HappyAlice/zp89z03k
I am in love with food! Lol!
I am not supposed to have dinner tonight but because my partner "happened" to be in one of the restaurants that we frequent earlier today, "decided" to buy kare-kare. This is a Filipino dish, beef/pork stew in peanut butter with veggies.
I can't say no to that. It's one of my fave dishes and from one of the restaurants that I like.
Dig in! There's still enough for 2-3 people I think depending on how big eater you are :D
Let's earn SHIB for free
I'm supposed to be writing something. I should have written the idea when I first thought about it. Hopefully it will come back to me later on or if not, then it must not be worth writing about lol!
I have watched two episodes of Rings of Power. So far so good. It's just that I got bored in some parts that I wanted to skip or stop watching entirely. It's one of those shows that I'm deciding whether to continue or not. We'll see.
So then this brought me to read and what to write. No, not about Rings of Power. I think I'll just finish the third part of the Lord of the Rings instead later on.
I'll be answering some questions from this. https://lovewritinglife.com/author-interview-questions/
**What do you like to do when you are not writing?**
Going out for walks, watching movies, eating or better yet sleeping/napping. Sometimes when there is something interesting, I might read a book. Most of the times though, I'll be browsing the internet for what-have-yous.
**What did you want to be when you grew up? What was your dream job when you were younger?**
I wanted to be a doctor. I don't know what changed my mind so then I wanted to be an astronaut, then a teacher, then a chef, and so on and so forth. It kept changing. I even wanted to be a pastor at one point.
**What’s for dinner tonight? What would you rather be eating? What’s your favourite food?**
We just had kare-kare (beef stew in peanut sauce with veggies). I wasn't expecting that my partner will buy that for dinner or anything for that matter as I don't regularly eat dinner now. However, we don't have ref to store food so I have no choice but to eat. I'd rather have nothing. I'm trying to control what I eat and I skip dinner most of the times. I'm fine with bread which is a food I like. I can do away with rice but I can eat bread or pastries all day long.
**What is the best part of your day?**
Waking up knowing it is my rest day. I do like the time when I go to bed and waking up. It's when I am grateful for what happened to my day and I am grateful for waking up to start a new one but to wake up knowing it is your rest day, that's blissful.
**Have you ever been on any sports teams? If so, what sport?**
I'm not that sporty but I used to belong in a volleyball team but as a sub so I never got to play that much.
**Favourite artist and favourite song?**
There are so many songs out there and many artists that choosing one is hard. If I am to be forced, I'd choose Angels by Robbie Williams. It's a song about someone who loves you unconditionally.
**Your hero?**
My mom. She is someone who endures all and does everything for the sake of the family, even forgetting about herself. Her faith is admirable too.
**If you could choose three people to invite for a dinner party, who would they be and why?**
This is tough. I'm not that sociable person. I probably would invite my brother, my best friend and me. That's three lol! Maybe another brother of mine. I'm just improvising here.
**If you could invite one person to dinner, who would it be and what would you cook?**
Maybe a friend who is a chef. I'd ask him to teach me just one dish that I could easily perfect.
**Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.**

So that's it for now. I have merged some of the questions into one for they are related anyway.
I can't believe it's going to be Wednesday tomorrow - the middle of week and then weekend not long after that.
How was your Tuesday so far?
I feel like eating some fastfood. I haven't been to this branch since pandemic or even before pandemic.
The thing is, when the food I crave for is already in front of me, I lost interest.
A lot of things I'm losing interest these days.
Anyway, I just came from noise and lots of food posts were there that's why this made me post this. It is one of the photos in my reflections collection that I wanted to share with you.
This is one of the most recognizable signs around the world at least most where they have a store.
How things have changed
Murakamii.7 (check out her post here) got these questions from bmjc98 (check out her post here) and I wanted to write about it too. https://read.cash/@Murakamii.7/life-then-and-now-4a12feee https://read.cash/@bmjc98/five-signs-that-your-life-is-doing-better-than-before-challenge-757c3c3f
Let's get right into it.
No need to go to the neighbourhood to watch TV https://read.cash/@Murakamii.7/life-then-and-now-4a12feee#no-need-to-go-to-the-neighbourhood-to-watch-tv
We do have a black and white television when we were younger. It is those old models with their own cabinets. We didn't have cable back then so we only have antenna connected to it through wires as the antenna was outside the house placed on a pole and secured on another pole.
Because we didn't have cable, we would still go to our neighbors occasionally to hang out with them and sometimes watch anything on TV. Because they were well off, they have cable and their TV is colored. Later on, we did have another TV and colored at that but that doesn't have a good reception even if we attached antenna to it. We only use that to watch VHS tapes.
When we were adults, we decided to subscribe to a cable company but that was short lived when we had issues with it. By then, internet is slowly being introduced and that's when we decided to have one. Now, TV is a thing of the past.
No more bar soap as dishwashing https://read.cash/@bmjc98/five-signs-that-your-life-is-doing-better-than-before-challenge-757c3c3f#no-more-bar-soap-as-dishwashing
We still do this whenever we ran out of dishwashing soaps/pastes. How do you make your dishwashing soap last longer? Even if the dishwashing soap is not concentrated, I would transfer half of that to another container and add water to it. I would then add water and dishwashing soap every so often as needed.
No need to wait for a special occasion to eat cake, ice cream, or spaghetti https://read.cash/@bmjc98/five-signs-that-your-life-is-doing-better-than-before-challenge-757c3c3f#no-need-to-wait-for-a-special-occasion-to-eat-cake-ice-cream-or-spaghetti
Back when we were kids, our mom would bake for us. Thus, we grew up eating carrot cakes, beetroot cakes and most especially banana cakes. Ice cream and spaghetti were for special occasions but ice cream only became a regular thing when we got older.
No need to worry about heat waves during Summer https://read.cash/@bmjc98/five-signs-that-your-life-is-doing-better-than-before-challenge-757c3c3f#no-need-to-worry-about-heat-waves-during-summer
It's the opposite for us. Although we still live in the mountains where temperature is almost cool the whole year round, as the years go by, more and more lands are sold and built upon. Meaning, lesser and lesser trees. Consequently, bringing in the heat. We have been used to a colder temperature but now there are instances that the heat is unbearable especially when you are out under the sun. I remember one summer when I went home, the heat is almost the same as it was in the lowlands.
No need to deal with their house rules anymore https://read.cash/@bmjc98/five-signs-that-your-life-is-doing-better-than-before-challenge-757c3c3f#no-need-to-deal-with-their-house-rules-anymore
Oh yes! The perks of living on your own. I have had experienced being away from home during my high school days but I was living a dorm then. There are rules still imposed but for me it was a step to independence. It's still different to be home. When I decided to move out of our house, it was liberating.
I have been incorporating different prompts in some of my articles. This one is from Micontingsabit. Check out the full list here. https://read.cash/@Micontingsabit/dark-084e475a
I don't follow the sequence of the questions. I just browse through and choose whatever I feel like answering.
Today, it's about Question No. 9: Words of wisdom.
I have always been telling everyone to create ripples of kindness. This is much needed in these times where everyone seems to be sensitive about something. When we talk about kindness, it's not just about how we treat others but also how we treat ourselves.
Don't be insecure about yourself. Bullying others just reflects what kind of person you are. We gang up on others so much so treating people online like we know them.
Why do we have to cancel others? We cancel them because what? You feel superior? Just because you don't do what others do that doesn't make you holier than them. You are not perfect. You are just as useful or useless like the next person. You do not know everything.
So instead of pulling others down, let us rise together instead.
And I, thank you!
Sunday well spent
I have shared other photos that I took in my noise accounts #1 and #2. Also, the lead image I used was taken earlier today as well. https://noise.cash/post/1753xk79 https://noise.app/leeart/0pv215zp
My partner and I met with some friends at a friend's cafe. It's sort of a welcome home kind of thing after being away for a month. One of the reasons we went there is our friend's cinnamon rolls. I missed that. We would have ordered some the last time we were there but she doesn't bake them in pieces but rather bake them in sets of 10 or 12.
I can only eat 1 piece because that is enough. It is delicious and sweet but one or two is enough. That's why she only bakes those when someone orders.
We ordered a dozen earlier this morning so that it will be available in the afternoon. These rolls take time to bake. We want them freshly made for it tastes better that way. Anything freshly done is better anyway. This would have been good with coffee but I didn't had one for I have had too much coffee earlier.
There were two toppings for these which are blueberry cheesecake and plain cheesecake. All of us can only eat one piece each before giving up. We are reserving space for the other food that we ordered.
It was such a fulfilling meal and we had a wonderful time together.
We actually thought we will not be able to witness a sunset today .
When we arrived there, it was cloudy. The horizon had been changing color already but all we can see was a thin line of colors.
This is how it looks like when we arrived.
We really thought that was it. However, the heavens answered one of our friend's wish and showed us the beauty of the sky as I have posted above.
Every time this particular friend of ours visit this cafe, she was not that lucky to witness lovely sunset so she was glad and we were all glad when we did witness a wonderful one.
That's why we are friends for we share the same love for food, coffee and sunsets. She brought one of her sons along during one of our outings and from there he would be the one asking her mom to bring him. Today, she brought him too. The kids of our other friends have been joining us since they were kids. So our friend's son has a lot of catching up to do.
When we were done there, we headed to one of the malls here to accompany our friend. I also bought wine and chili sauce from one of our fave shops before heading home.
Nights are longer now these days. We thought it was much later when we got home.
Anyway, the wine is taking an effect on me so I have to bade you all good night for now. Writing four posts for each different platforms seem too much but we have to do what we have to do. Let's keep grinding. Let's keep hustling.
I'll see what I can do in terms of visiting some of you before I finally have to surrender to the world's biggest magnet - the bed.
I posted a different version of this in my other account https://noise.cash/post/1753xk79. I like this one because of how the colors are more vibrant.
For two consecutive weekend visits to a friend's cafe, we have witnessed lovely sunset, this one better than the previous one.
Will three times be a charm if we go there again this weekend? I hope so.
