Managed to start some writing this evening - about 1000 words so far, but I am kind of filling gaps, which is harder and probably not the easiest way to write fiction. Oh wow Dominika (novel) has got so nasty - I knew it was going to be hard. I am almost crying writing it! But it is necessary the protagonist suffer or the lesson will not be learnt.

That was hard, one of the hardest chapters I've ever written, but so necessary to the plotline. I think it is a good thing to emotionally engage with the characters and the journeys they are on. So the first of two difficult chapters complete and the second one is not so hard as it will form a bridge to move the story along. I love writng and how much it engages the mind and emotions.

So I've written a whopping 5200 words today including the most difficult part of the most difficult chapter in the whole novel. I started the next chapter and made some good progress but my words are becoming rambling so it is time to stop. I will have to do a rewrite if I keep going and now my mind is too tired to write with the tightness that is needed to achieve what I want. Standards matter and especially if it is to be published

In-laws have just got back from a walk and less than half a kilometre from where we are staying they saw a pair of wolves cross their path. This is why we can't leave BabyRah in the garden on his own even for a few seconds. BTW don't misunderstand. I am happy for the wolves to be here and frankly we need to get along better with nature rather than bending it to our will - which usually means enclosing or exterminating. Mosquitoes are of course an exception

So good progress is being made on the other difficult chapter and got right to the central theme now. And now I have to tear the protagonist into pieces before she can move forwards. My heart is breaking as i write.

So there it is. I've hit my target and drafted the other difficult chapter in full. Now I just need to go back and complete the missing chapter from early on in the novel and complete the novel with the last couple of chapters and the Epilogue / Afterword. Great progress in the last few days and now I get to enjoy the gentle slope into a surprise conclusion.

My Alts are coming back to life! I moved too early on them in the dip and at worst they hit 50% of the value I paid for them (ouch) and this was despite not moving until about a week into the May dip. Too soon as it turned out. So in the last few days they have recovered to about 65% of what I paid. Still not good, but better than half. Still need to hodl for some time, but they are moving and because I moved on the dip, albeit too soon they don't even need to get anywhere…

Only question is after Hodling for so long do I take the profit earlier (I am nowhere near that point yet BTW) or do I wait and go big. My feeling is to hodl it out a bit longer because a small profit makes what is now a three month hodl relatively pointless. Conventional wisdom however suggests taking profit early. Thoughts?

So today is another landmark in BabyRah's life. He is not having the best day of his little life so far as he had another round of vaccines yesterday, However today is the day when he turned FOUR MONTHS OLD already. Soon he will be out of nappies and walking and running and talking non-stop I wait for those days when we can sleep again but in the meantime we are trying to enjoy every moment - even the difficult ones.

So here goes TRUE vs FALSE 1) TRUE - both occasions were in Albania. On the first occasion I was passing a mechanic's yard and this guy randomly pulled a pistol on me. I am getting so excited about the novel now - no release date yet - but the way everything is accelerating is just incredible. Had a bit of fun earlier today. Got the following reply to one of my posts so decided to play (not heart). Why do spammers think that because they string a couple of non-specific meaningless sentences together that they deserve a reward? What is funniest was they regurgitated the same msg and when I asked again they gave up. Needless to say (s)he gave up at that point.

BabyRah's increasing dexterity is presenting its challenges, but one advantage is that he can now assist in his own nappy changes now by the simple fact that he can hold his own feet up which means I don't have to. He does it when I encourage him and then I have two hands to deal with the messy end.

I recently posted on how BabyRah has finessed rolling onto his belly. He still hasnt quite figured out how to get back on his back yet. He has managed once. Time for some Sunday Noise. My mission, and i have chosen to accept it, is to start training BabyRah to sleep in his big boy cot in his own room rather than the crib that is attached to our bed.
