Where the Sea and the Sky Meets
"Dude! She's gone. There's nothing else to be done." Henry said. He was trying to console Brent who was faced down on the bar counter still asking for another drink. He was trying to drown away his sorrows to soften the blow that he was still feeling since his girlfriend left him.
Iniwan sa ere? (left while in flight), that could very well summarize what happened to him. And it could also be taken literally. He was high in their relationship and he already bought a ring to be used for a proposal but his girlfriend left to pursue her dreams to become a stewardess.
Yes, it has been months since they split, yes, they have broken up amicably, and they both agreed that they wouldn't work with an LDR. But still, he took it to heart and he was devastated because, in his own mind, he was invested in the relationship to end in marriage.
"You know what? Let's go home. You're wasted." Henry persuaded.
"Nope, I'm not. I'm just crying." Brent answered.
"Well, okay. Stop then. Look at all these fishes in this sea. They're just waiting for bait to bite on. So go out there and dangle yours." Henry suggested while gesturing to all the girls dancing at the club that night.
"Yes, tons of fishes in the sea, but she's the only one I want," Brent replied.
"Come on man. We didn't fly all the way here to Singapore just to mope. Let's go out there and meet some puss......" Henry pulled Brent up and they made their way to the dance floor.
Brent just stood there looking around and he was still not feeling it. Henry however made the most of his time and he was sandwiched with two beautiful bodies dancing the night away as they grind their way against his physique.
Brent watched them dance and he couldn't even understand how the three of them are tangled together that way. And seriously, what would you even accomplish to be in a kiss with three people in it? It's just weird and it's definitely hard.
Brent wandered back to the bar counter and asked for another drink. He downed that like it was cold water and he was lost in the desert for three days. After a few moments, he felt the urge to pee and when he got up, he suddenly felt dizzy. And that's the signal that he's already a drink over his limit.
He tried to walk out the door, but he did so but not without stumbling into some people and crowds. He kept one hand planted on the wall as he made his way to the elevator which will take him to his room.
He somehow made it in front of the room and he struggled to take out the keycard from his pocket. The hotel where they were staying still uses the old key system wherein you need to insert the keycard into a slot in the know instead of just tapping it. He couldn't do it. After several minutes of trying, he kicked the door and cursed at it. And then at himself. He felt so much like a failure and he felt like a lost cause.
He sat down against the door and he sobbed uncontrollably. And he was not crying because of the door. He still cries because of Carrie. The love of his life.
And it may be because of alcohol, or maybe he's gone crazy, but he could see her face everywhere. Just like that time.
"What happened? Are you okay?" a girl asked her.
He looked up and saw Carrie looking down at him. At least, it was Carrie's face he was seeing. He knows deep down that he was just drunk and it's impossible for him to meet her in Singapore. The last time he heard about her was she was on flights going to and from Saudi Arabia.
But he couldn't help it. He tried to stand and hugged the stranger.
"It's okay. You're so drunk. Let me help you. My room is just here." the girl helped him walk and she took her inside her room. She sat him down on the bed and she fetched him a glass of water.
He took it and drank it.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hugged you. I know I'm just drunk. I just saw my ex-girlfriend's face on yours. As a matter of fact, I still do. I still do love her. It still hurts." he closed his eyes and as soon as he did, his head hit the bed.
It wasn't because of his drunkenness that he fell backward. It was because of a push, albeit slight. It was enough to make her fall on his back. And after that, he felt a substantial weight on his waist. He opened his eyes and he saw the girl sitting on top of him. Her legs were spread on the bed and she was on top of him pinning him down.
"What? No, I...." he tried to resist but then he was silenced by her sharp tone.
"Shut up!" she said and then her mouth was all over his. He would like to fight back and stop, but he still sees Carrie's face. He just couldn't fight it off. And he just went with it. He kissed back, hard. He wanted her to feel just how he missed her. The kiss was passionate, it was rushed. It felt like a contest between them of who could suck on the other's lips the hardest.
Hello there!
This is a little story created with the requested topic of the ever-cutie @carisdaneym2 . She just gave me a wonderful prompt: "Seaman <3 Stewardess". And of course, I am always up for a challenge and a good story.
