Whatcha Wearing??
Talking over the phone is weird and awkward, don’t you think? I mean, it’s just so uncomfortable listening to the other people on the other line wherein you can’t even see their facial reaction. You are not even sure who’s on the other line.
That is mainly the reason why I don’t asnwer my cellphone, especially if it’s from an unknown number. Unless of course I am waiting for a call. Who calls over the phone anyway? At this age in the technological era? Literally, my grandma. People just chat or videocall nowadays.
Just the other day, I got a new number and I called my father for a quick conversation. I guess he didn’t save my number and after a few hours I received a call from him and he thought that I was a sales agent and he was asking for a quotation for a motorbike. He didn’t even recognize my voice lol. He must really have a lot of unsaved numbers calling him. Maybe he just hit the most recent one on his logs.
Misdials almost never happens today but when they do, it’s just so awkward and a bit funny. But back then, it kinda almost always happen all the time. And that’s how this movie “Whatcha Wearin’?”.
Expectation
I was just browsing through my recommendations on Netflix and I stumbled upon this familiar movie. I thought it was familiar, again, it was a case of “I have already seen this one but I can’t remember” kind of thing.
Based on the promotional materials, I expected it to be an old school kind of romantic comedy with a little bit of raunchy side. And I thought it was perfect for a lazy kind of day, so I clicked play.
Story
The story involves a girl and a guy who accidentally knew each other because of a wrong dial. The girl dialled the wrong number and thinking that it was her boyfriend she was calling, tried to engage in a pretty kinky phone $3x. The boy just listened to her dumbfounded and could not even slip up a word because of the intensity of the role play the girl was doing. He had no choice but to go with it and beat the odds while taking advantage of the sticky situation and letting out his vent out frustration too.
Who doesn’t want a good phone make out session? I know I do, and the guy also did like it and he became curious and interested in the mystery caller.
The guy is broken and hung up over a previous love while the girl is in a messed-up and dying relationship, they bonded over their own miseries, got close, and got intimate enough to meet up and get a hotel room for themselves.
Things got even more tangled up when they started going out and they came to realize that things are even more complicated than what they bargained for.
Characters
I think that the characters are fairly well developed and particularly fit to what the story wanted them to be. Their personalities were just as you would expect in the usual romantic comedy setting. They are both stubborn in times when they shouldn’t and they are just so adventurous enough that they end up not doing the thing that they want to do.
Their personalities clicked well together but their decision making and timing sucks. Which is of course effective in prolonging the story.
The supporting characters aren’t really that consistent with what they are supposed to be, especially the guy’s ex-girlfriend. There was just something off with her all through out. I think that the writer hoped to give her a bigger impact or role in the story that didn’t really pan out. But I could not complain, she’s the only one who showed some skin, and yes, what a lovely pair she has. Lol.
Conclusion
It’s a good watch. It’s a good movie to pass the time. It’s really perfect if you can relate with the LDR type of relationship and intimate phone calls and stuff, but I do think that this movie is not on the top of my what to watch list.
There really isn’t much scenes that will make you laugh, there are more scenes that would annoy you and there those dramatic scenes that will just make you wonder why? Nothing, just why?
I think my most favorite part of the movie is the song. I mean it’s a pretty fun and catchy song that they both wrote together. I just love it. Kinda like the F song from The Disaster Movie. I could never get that out of my mind.
Here’s the song with its translation:
Yeah, it’s not that bad of a movie, but if you have anything else on the line up, I probably check those others out first.
Hi there!!!
So yeah, $3x on phone? Vocal, written, or visual maybe? How bout it? What do you think about that? I’m so fine with it. This movie makes it a very fun activity too.
Anyhow, how was your yesterday? I hope that you have a better today than yesterday.

From my point of view I believe that a video call is welcome if it is from a family member or a very close friend, a planned meeting, a consultation for a previously discussed topic. A friend or partner, a child . But if an unknown number makes a video call to me, I reject it. Or if it is in very late hours I do not receive video calls to people who are not from my close environment. So where would the rest of the world communicate with me? By normal calls from my cell phone. I don't open the doors of my house to everyone...hehe... interesting your content.
