July 29, 2021
Last July 27, 2021, I’ve celebrated my 19th birthday. I still can’t believe how fast the time is. It feels like recently, I am just 17 years old and then a pandemic happened, I am imprisoned in this house, and then viola, I am now older by two freaking years. Even though it feels like I am teleported onward in time, I still try my best to reflect on myself.
At first, I thought that it is pretty impossible to enumerate my achievements and things to be grateful for, given that majority of my two years is just inside my home.
However, on my birthday, I forced my brain to squeeze some thoughts because I felt guilty reaching this particular age without something to be grateful for. I don’t want to let myself feel that these two years were just full of void.
So, I run out of my room, go downstairs, reached my workplace, get my notebook and ballpen, and started to write numbers one to nineteen.
1. I have a loving family.
A few days ago, my mother always asked me what do I want for my birthday. I always tell that I just want it to be simple, no other visitors, just us. I am an introverted person so I just want it to be peaceful and quiet. Aside from that, I am also worried about the Delta variant virus spreading to our neighboring cities.
But my mother is insistent. She ordered food online and invited my relatives. I am annoyed at first, but I eventually felt sorry and appreciate her efforts to make my birthday special amidst the pandemic.
Aside from that, I am grateful to my brother and father for greeting me ahead of my personal and virtual friends. A simple greet like that can make my heart flutter.
2. God gave me another year to live.
I am not perfect but He always opens his heart for me. Despite my shortcomings, he always accepts and forgives me. Despite my sin, He continues to shower me with His blessings. I am grateful because he gave me another year to witness the world he created.
3. I am privileged enough.
I am grateful that I am living in this world with convenience. My father has a stable job, we have a good house, we have internet, we have sufficient supplies of food and water, and etcetera that others can’t afford. I am thankful that I don’t need to experience the struggle of others just to know how hard life is.
As a privileged, it is my, our responsibility to raise the voice of those people who are oppressed.
4. I have friends over the internet.
This is also one of the things I am grateful for. As I mentioned above, I am an introvert. Socializing is not my forte and I tend to isolate myself and be comfortable with it. Thanks to noiseristificationism for helping me out in breaking the shell and leaving my comfort zone.
5. I met read. cash and noise. cash
First of all, I am thankful to the man that posted about read.cash on Facebook. I can’t remember his name because I immediately clicked his link 😂but I hope you are still active here and you can read this.
Anyway, I am thankful to these two platforms for introducing Bitcoin Cash. Because of Bitcoin Cash, I can buy my needs and be somehow financially independent.
6. I and my family are healthy.
As they say, health is wealth. I furthermore realized this when my father has contracted with COVID-19. It feels like the money is worthless at that time and the most important thing is to recover from the illness.
Luckily, on the 10th day of our quarantine, we’re already tested negative for the virus.
The following are the things I am also grateful for.
7. For the first time in 4 years, it became warm and sunny on the 27th of July
8. I have BCH and savings.
9. I am happy today.
10. I have a nice haircut before my birthday.
11. Someone complimented my current body built which is one of my insecurities.
12. I have two cute, adorable, and loving dogs.
13. I can stand firm with my decision.
14. I have one personal friend who greeted me on my birthday
15. I finished my senior high school with flying colors.
16. I can write in two languages; Filipino and English
17. I can learn from my past mistakes and experiences.
18. I am free to express my thoughts and opinions.
19. I can publish an article.
Thank you to my sponsors, upvoters, silent readers, commenters, and critics for keeping me motivated in writing 💯. I am just a speck of dust floating in the wind without you
Ending remarks:
Yesterday, July 28 is my father's birthday. Yeah, you read it write. Our birthdays are just in a row. This is the reason why I didn't have the time to publish yesterday. I want to allocate my time in appreciating and celebrating his special day!
Another thing, it is my first time creating an article about my birthday 😂. Maybe because I am not fond of showing off some personal information in the internet. This time I just want to share how thankful I am to the blessing I received .
