Looking back in the late generations, issues on gender inequality was already there. Girls are not allowed to go to school before. The opportunities are limited for girls, but open for boys. Over the decades, there has been progress in this matter. We have seen the changes throughout the years, whether in social issues or in societyβs movements. There are better opportunities for girls and they can be heard now. But we still fight for gender equality. Why?
We see gender inequality everywhere. This has been a struggle to every country. With different genders coming out, things became worse. The discrimination arises, and every one of us can be a target for this. According to Victorian Government, the gender inequality affects everyone even men. People may not be experiencing the same because some situations are worst and often different. Discrimination is always blocking the way and people might face more than one type of it. This is why we need to fight for gender equality, not only for ourselves but for the people around us.
As you can see, I chose a timely social issue. This matter put some interests on me because I am aware that everyone who reads this might learn something and reflect. I, as a student, admits that I once become a target. As long as there are discrimination and people who thinks they are superior because of their gender, it will be hard to shout for gender equality. I am used of making essays and reflections about this particular issue and I will not stop writing about them. The idea of how discrimination in gender affects the behaviour of a child or person, tells me to write and fight for equality.
According to research, boys are receiving 8 times more attention than girls in a classroom, and girls receive 11% less pocket money than boys. But these happens vice versa in other part of the world. The point here is that, even in civilized and modern world, inequality is still present. On the other hand, according to a survey conducted, 1 out of 3 Australian women over 15 has experienced physical violence. We can say that most of the time, the victims are women and we cannot deny that since we all know the vulnerability of a woman.
On the other hand, there are misconceptions in gender inequality. We often think that only women will benefit from gender equality in the society, but men too will benefit from it. Men are also facing gender issue like bad health, life expectancy, and lower educational levels. These only means that men deserve to be treated fair and equal too. It has changed my misconceptions about gender equality. I now understand that fighting gender equality is not only for women, but should work for men as well.
The researches are surveys are conducted around the world. Therefore, the information gathered will show and explain that there are different situations in different part of the world. As I searched on the internet, I told myself that maybe some of us are in the same situation like we experienced, but some of them might be fighting in worst scenarios. It affected my view as a student and woman. I saw how men struggles in this society too. I have understood that the targets are not only girls, but boys can be a victim too.
It is right to fight for equality that should work and will benefit every person whatever gender they have. These realizations made me realize things. I reflected and thought that it isnβt too much to ask for fair treatment. We all deserve the best. Every one of us should be getting the love and acceptance that we deserve. We are capable of fighting for our rights, so we should get it. We should fight for our rights as well. We need equality, and we must fight for it one way or another.
Fighting for gender equality may be a trend now. It is because people believed that being accepted in the society is their rights. This concerns the people who belongs to other genders aside from Boy and Girl. There are a lot of them, and people are shouting for acceptance. Some says that love is a human right. You must love everyone disregarding their gender. We must have equality. All of us. That is what truly deserved.
To someone who is reading this in any gender, put in mind that equality must start within you. You need to understand why is it important to treat others the way you want to be treated. It should start from, and others will soon follow. If we can't do something or contribute on rallies about this issues, might as well try respecting people in all genders. There, you are contributing big time.

A lot of people feel the influence of gender stereotypes from early childhood that leads to the discrimination when we grow up. My daughter is working on the project on gender equality and she sent me this site with samples for students https://edubirdie.com/examples/gender-equality/ where this topic is explained in details. Maybe it will be interesting for someone here.
