Encountering A Cobra Snake

While doing a short morning walk on my terrace as due to heavy rainfall the outside is sticky and muddy and dirty sewage water is flowing on the roads so I decided to have my walk there. While walking accidentally my eyes went down and I saw earthworms, at first they looked like snakes to me but they were very small and were resembling more like an earthworm. It was rare to see them on the terrace. As I thought about how they climbed up this way, but no. We have some sand on the terrace probably that's the place where they were born.

But see life finds a way. Who gave birth to so many earthworms there is a big mystery?

Memories

Looking into their slow movement and when touched acted like snakes, of course, I didn't touch them. It seems I accidentally stepped on them while walking, damm so evil I thought of my childhood and my interest and excitement for snakes. I know snakes are considered very creepy and dangerous except for some different colored Boas and Pythons and a lot of people keep them as pets also.

But when I was a kid I had a great interest in them and I used to watch shows related to them. And I still remember a famous Herpetologist Brady Barr's show. I think his shows are still telecasted on the National Geographic channel.

Also, Herpetologists are specialists in reptiles and amphibians.

I used to watch his shows catching venomous snakes, Pythons, Anacondas, and sometimes even Crocodiles. The real-time story of catching snakes in someone's house and then sending them to the forest department was very interesting and thrilling to watch.

About Venomous Snakes

I still remember there are mostly two types of Venom in snakes Hemotoxic and Neurotoxic one attacks the muscles and disrupts the blood composition ultimately affecting the circulatory system and the other one straight away attacks the nervous system then paralysis and then death. Not to scare you but this was my favorite subject to learn after school hours, lol.

And snakes related Cobra family have Neurotoxic venom and Vipers family have Hemotoxic venom.

And earlier I thought the Black Mamba of Africa was the most venomous snake in the world but I was wrong it's 'Inland Taipan' found in Australia whose one bite is capable of killing 100men if not given an antidote. And most venomous snakes are found in Australia only.

And there's also a snake named Spitting Cobra which spits venom with a great force directly into human eyes and is capable of making you blind.

What Spiked My Interest

I didn't have this interest from birth nor did I suddenly get it rather I got this from watching a movie. And the movie is teenagers' favorite 'Anaconda', almost all the anaconda movies are to my liking. Like who doesn't want to see a 70-100ft snake, haha? Then 'Boa Vs Python' and lots of others are also there which I forgot. These movies light the fire inside me for snakes. And so far the largest snake found was in Brazil near a construction site of 33ft size, it was an Anaconda and to transfer it they had to use a small crane and big fat metal chains were used to restrict its movements and transfer it and I think it was either killed by workers or by construction debris as it was found in a cave. It was shown on National Geographic I still remember it.

And What About Now

This is the beautiful place where I had my first snake experience. It's different now I think as I haven't visited my village for a month.

Now, I still find them interesting but I fear them a lot compared to my childhood. And let me share with you a funny and dangerous experience, back when we used to live in village. It was the season of planting rice crops in the monsoon, and after returning from supplying some food to my family members who were planting crops. I and my cousin bro decided to do a race and unluckily while running I encountered one snake in my path, I didn't have time to stop as the place was muddy so I jumped over it, lol. But surprisingly that snake rose his head like a fricking cobra and scared the shit out of me. Though I jumped higher than it's reach. My cousin brother told me it's a non-venomous one don't worry still I said him only Cobra raise their head like that. And when I was eating dinner with my family members they said some farmers saw a Cobra and advised us to beware of it and lmao the look on me and my cousin was hilarious. We told about it and we were scolded a bit for running in muddy fields. And a day after I heard that they killed it to avoid being killed by it. A sad story but I survived a deadly experience there.

Final Thoughts

Oh look, I wrote a lot. The topics which interest you a lot, even 1000 words will be small for it. That's what I'm feeling right now while writing this. I have more to share about these creepy yet beautiful creatures necessary for maintaining life and the food cycle as they kill many small animals like mice which reproduce like crazy and are very disturbing for farmers as they destroy crops. And surprisingly I didn't have to take any reference from any place as I still store this much data about them from shows which I used to watch in my childhood.

By the way how interesting do you find these S walkers?

I saw a lot of snakes way back in my childhood. And I think I saw a rare one which has a yellow patch with red and black in between in the body and the head has a color red diamond shape too.

Writing from past experiences is always fun. I really dislike the reptile world as a whole. Yes they are necessary for the ecosystem but seeing a snake could freak the hell out of me.
