Stolen money, multiple devices, etc... I was reading this this article about a user who lost $0.19 and thinks that we took it. https://read.cash/@salma24/security-readcash-wallet-risk-reminders-81d7b671 https://read.cash/@G3ni3r4L/missing-fund-fd7fc274 The user in question @G3ni3r4L asks us: "what happen read cash are you scam now or your not safe anymore?" This is funny. We have $100,000 in the fund, from which we send out $137 and yet we need to take this user's $0.19... Let's clarify a few things here. First of all, we cannot take your money. Your money is protected by your seed phrase. It is generated on your computer or mobile phone and **never** leaves it. That's why we're constantly telling you that if you lose your seed phrase - your money is gone forever. You can't use it, we can't use it, nobody can use it. Look at this chart:
This is money in wallets that haven't moved in a week. We have about $2,000 in balances where people either just left or lost access to it. When you lose your seed phrase - you can forever watch your money sitting idle on the blockchain if you still have your block explorer link or wallet address. That's the proof that we can't take it. So, where's the money? Since a user says that he can see the transaction on a block explorer - that means that somebody stole it (or that user tries to make us look bad). Who? Anyone with either access to user's computer or phone or with access to the place where user stored his seed phrase. Just came, pressed a button to send and there, done! Or took a photo of user's seed phrase. **By the way, if you think your seed phrase has been stolen** - clean your cookies and ask read.cash to generate a new seed phrase (or go to this article and follow the instructions in the red box at the end). If your old seed phrase is in somebody's hands - they will continue stealing your funds. https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/access-readcash-from-more-than-one-device-6194a5aa Yeah, there is one possibility though where we could take your money, that is if we change the site code. We could, of course, someday say like "hey, let's steal everyone's money" and then publish the code that whenever user logs into the site, his money is sent somewhere. But you can do the same with *any* wallet or an exchange. The developers are responsible for not stealing things. So, read.cash is no better or worse than anyone here. We could go even deeper and say that we really don't know what's on the chips that we use everyday. Maybe there's already code that one day will steal everybody's crypto. Far fetched, but it's still possible. So, in practice we can't take your money exactly in the same way as Bitcoin.com wallet can't take your money. Why do we then ask you not to keep more than $20 in your online wallet? Because even though we aren't going to take your money, but a talented hacker can potentially inject his own code into read.cash, which will steal your money. In that way, compiled wallets, like Bitcoin.com's wallet are safer. I mean @MarcDeMesel trusts us with $97,000 (less, since the exchange rate went down) and yet people *seriously* assume we took somebody's $0.19 to scam them?... People, use your common sense. We give daily more than a few dollars in tips, why would we need somebody's $0.19? Multiple devices One more myth: "you can't use your seed phrase on two devices or you lose your funds":
@Jdine is right here. It's totally possible and you don't lose anything. There are many users on the site (including me), who use the same seed phrase on a desktop and on a mobile phone. It's pretty convenient. If you want to use the same phrase on other device - make sure you have $0.00 (or send it somewhere firsts) on the device where you want to reuse the phrase, then go to this article and follow the instructions in the red box at the end. https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/access-readcash-from-more-than-one-device-6194a5aa **UPDATE: User in question has violated** **rules** **since this article has been published by insulting a commenter in Tagalog language (and even mocking the user later by mistranslating it) and has been banned for it.** https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/what-is-readcash-7b0bfcfc#what-can-i-publish-on-readcash **Reminder: if you are ever attacked by other user (insults, name-calling), press "Report it" and explain. This is explicitly forbidden and might result in a ban.**

I think we need his explanation. Why he said that kinds of words And I'm 1month here and not loose even single cents
Shooook ako π π
Yeah, if your having issue on readcash I think the best solution is email them
I tried to use 2 different browsers on 1 device. Indeed, we just need to enter the seed phrase. But, I now only use 1 browser. Its better to be safe than sorry.
Wow! Thank you so much for clarifying about this issues. Now we know why this is happened. And to learned a lesson from this.
Well I believe that he clearly doesn't know what is saying or is uninformed about, that happen mostly when you come to a blogger site with intent to make money with all efforts but first, that he must know how a wallet works, what is a seed phrase and how to store or send funds, people just join without knowing how it works, that is somehow absurd if someone just trusted the site with $97,000 why steal $0,19π·that may be insanity!!
Read cash is the best! Such silly claims are ridiculous. Keep up the great work! :)
Now its clear... very clear explanation.. nice job readCash... π
Another info added thank you read cash.
I have two seed phrase which is one for my phone and the other for my laptop. So far, it is doing just fine. It because I made a mistake by creating a new seed phrase instead of importing my old seed phrase. One account for both wallet.
If you have two seeds, you have two wallets. You can also integrate the read.cash wallet with bitcoin.cash wallet. I have written here how to do it. https://read.cash/@Telesfor/how-to-integrate-readcash-wallet-into-bitcoincom-wallet-80747c24
Thank you @readcash for this explanation. Now, it's clear to all users who experience that. Goodjob read cash . Kudos to you. Just continue that update if they have a problem with this platform in order for them to understand it. Thank you again read cash for this explanation.π
I accidentally cleared my browsers cache and history but good thing I was able to save my seed phrase. I was warned by my cousin @Baij at the time I signed up in this platform. And she was right! It is very important to secure our account. Without it, I may not be able to recover my acc
Good thing you listened ! LOL
It also happened to me few days ago. I cleared my history and readcash look for the seed phrase. I actually follow the instructions but then my wallet has 0 balance. But its okay. Its my fault.
The seed is your access to your Bitcoin cash. Each user must write it down and keep it in a safe place. If someone ignore the instructions from read.cash, it is his own fault.
I truly appreciate your support sir. I believe the mistake could have come from me, may be I asked the system to create a new account. But my confusion is that the old seed phrase still works for the new wallet address. Thanks.
This article is highly appreciated as a solution to the stated and allied issues. In the first place, I would like to call on @G3ni3r4L to make a public apology to @read.cash for such uncourteous statement:"what happened read. cash are you scam now or you are not safe anymore?" This statement is derogatory and baseless. He/she should have presented the case courteously. I will check the link to the recommended article to see what is there as a further solution to recover the old wallet. Thanks for your untiring supports. Long live read.cash!
He won't be able to do it, since he insulted you in Tagalog (and mistranslated it later like he wished you well) and got banned for it. Personal attacks are forbidden by the [rules](https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/what-is-readcash-7b0bfcfc#what-can-i-publish-on-readcash).
Well, this is a deterrent for every faithful user on read.cash. We really need to follow the rules and be courteous always.
Yeah. That's true. If seed words can be recover, wallet will be back.
Thank you for taking the time to clarify this in a simple and straight forward way.
I actually experienced the same thing sometimes, where a cent or two were lost but it never came across me that read.cash would steal it. They have a point. They had a $100,000. If they wanted to steal some money. They could've just stopped the site from working! I haven't thought about complaining because it was only a cent or two. It matters but read.cash had given me more than that. I also read somewhere here (i forgot) that if someone dislikes your post, then you lose some cents. Or was it points? I forgot. Nevertheless, every time it happens to me, I just think that maybe someone disliked my post. That could be possible. Couldn't complain to read.cash tho. They are heroes!
Mee too I experience it about 0.02-0.05 , but I just ignore that
These are dollar price fluctuations. Compare the BCH balance, you will see that nothing changes.
Right! I now get it! They explained it pretty well. Hahaha thanks @telesfor and @baij π
no problem, willing to help you understand as long as it's within my scope of knowledge!
It's just the BCH rates going up and down. Remember, the amount shown in the dashboard is in USD but the real amount we are earning is BCH. The USD may change but BCH won't. Also, for Upvotes we receive, read.cash already explained that: 90% goes to the author, 10% goes to read.cash to support the development and promotion of the platform. https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/what-is-readcash-faq-7b0bfcfc
Right! Right! I now get it! For the upvotes, I have already read that. I was wondering on the balance hahaha but yes you are right! Thanks for clearing that up hahaha
Thanks for the mention. I just shared my experience. I am using two, sometimes three devices. My laptop and my phone. This is used alternately in everyday. Especially when I want to lay down while reading and commenting. I never lose any amount in my funds. You just need to follow protocols so you won't risk your fund. I didn't read the article which asked if readcash was scam. That's insane.
Thank you very much, read.cash for this expository. I started trusting read.cash the first day I signed up, because at least I didn't invest anything before having to earn. It would be ungrateful of me to accuse you wrongly, because that would means "biting the finger that feed you". I love read.cash, because I see the future here.
Agree! Unless someone must've been careless, your bch can't be stolen without the seed phrase, security codes or use of your own mobile or computer. And who would've stole $0.19? Like, it's nonsense. Maybe he needs to read more about read.cash. https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/what-is-readcash-faq-7b0bfcfc LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IS A DANGEROUS THING.
The first I signed up using cryptotab browser then I transfer to brave, but all my balance was there , as long as the my seed phrase is same and I import my wallet from cryptotab. And It's been 3. Weeks of using readcash but i never experienced any loss. Even cents.
I know that readcash team wont do that. Because I always get some points, and everyday I am sending it to my wallet.
The problem is with the seed phase. If you forget, you also forget your money. On a multiple devices or browser i have different balance. I have to send one to my wallet and continue with one.
A lot of these folks are coming from the traditional social media and centralized worlds so I think itβs hard for them to understand that you donβt control users wallets.
Yes, it's really hard to beat the "bank" mentality, meaning that somebody always holds your money :)
Haha well said. You are your own bank people. Donβt need to trust anyone with your data or your money anymore. You are free in more ways than you can imagine!
Though the points are not easy to get right now, I never missed a payment here since I joined. @Jdine is right if you log in into another device, you need to put your seed phrase so you can still keep your funds because if you don't put your seed phrase and use another address, it will be lost. @Read.Cash is the most legit crypto site that I have discovered. It so hard to process in mind that read.cash would scam a few cents. That user is just exaggerated.
No money is ever lost, unless you lose your seed phrase. If you enter another phrase into second device - you have two wallets with two balances, that's it. No money is ever lost while you still have your seed phrase.
Good to know it clearly, then. Some users here don't take time to read platform updates that's why they don't fully understand the system and just jump into a wrong conclusion instantly when they have some issues. They look straight in making points rather than understanding the platform first.
Thank you for this explanation read.cash, you didn't fail to clarify things that we can't understand or issues that we experience.
Good information. I am aware now.
Seed phrases are private keys of your accounts. Guys whatsoever happens, store them safely to reach your account and wallet. Otherwise, noone can help you. Blockchain is harsh in that sense :)
Thanks for reminding us
Thats such a bad alligation! We 8000+ Users beleive @read.cash and someone is asking such question! Thats show how bad your metality is!
This is the best platform for me n i just sent what i had earned on my coins app awhile ago even it is just a little amount only but the fact that i am earning here is a big help n i am thankful for it, maybe this is just an isolated one n good thing that the issue about it was now clarified.
Seriously the nerve of some people.
What a presumption of innocence that is not unreasonable. :) To be sure because of his own carelessness.
Readcash is safe and very secure.
