Not For The Fainthearted.

Image Source. https://www.pexels.com/photo/man-standing-on-road-108153/ Most people think they have nothing to offer to anyone because of their skin colour. I totally understand that we have those who are judgemental and won't even give you a listening ear due to the colour of your skin. I have read a lot about them and I have seen quite a few of them too but they are just little compared to the billions in the world. Others may try to bring you down but don't bring yourself down. You don't have to get them to like you but get them to respect you and respect comes when you know your worth and you are too valuable to be dispensed. A lot of people hide in their shells after one obstacle or two. They think the whole world is against them hence why they retreat and deny the world the beauty of their abilities. Not everyone would like you. Not everyone would see your worth. Not everyone would understand the value you bring but when you keep at it, they will learn to respect you because you are not going away. It's like having a boyfriend who doesn't see the potentials you have yet and decided to let you go. Does that mean you would say no to finding love when it comes again because of the action of one man? I know most people who have said goodbye to dating all because they were broken beyond words and I get that but when people can't see your worth, own up to your part of the blame and show it. You are not trying to convince anyone but you need to remind the world who you are. I am not an easy person to break down and that's as a result of accumulated hurts and pains. I've been thrown to the wolves many times and I came back leading the pack. It takes a lot of hurts to get to that point so please, don't give up just yet. I've seen people change their skin colour just because they want to fit in. You don't have to fit in when you are meant to stand out. Your worth is not in your skin colour but an inherent trait you have embedded inside of you. No one can help you unless you help yourself. Most people can point you in the direction you are supposed to go but you still have to be the one to walk the length of it. Nothing is given in life as we all think. Whatever we get for free someone already paid for it so whatever you give to life what comes back to you is the result of the value you have offered. No one owes us anything and we are responsible for how we turn out. If you won't take the needed steps then nothing is going to fall into your laps. Life is about taking risks and if you won't launch into the deep then you can't expect to achieve the results that others are having. Stop buckling under the weight of pressure easily. Life isn't meant to be easy and I can assure you, it won't get any easier so you better learn how to toughen up and confront the challenges that life offers because that's how we build strength and many others have been successful as a result of it, why should yours be different?

Our skin colour doesn't define us, what really matters is our self worth and the ability to see that each person has a lot of hidden potentials which cannot wait to be unlocked.
Well said, Kris... That's right. It goes skin deep...not just about the skin.
Most of the times we limit ourselves because of our skin colour which does not matter much. We should be bold even as the set of people called black colour, we should explore more than anyone else
We should be bold... I love that. There is beauty in boldness.
Who we are is not limited to how we look like or where we come from
Very true... We are not bound by them.
Judging someone from the exterior is about the most flawed assessment anyone can try to do as appearances can be deceiving. Who we are truly lies within us and not on the outside Nice poetry!
Thank you so much for this. Absolutely spot on π
You're right our skin doesn't define us,what defines us is our self worth.
Thank you so much, brother.
Self confidence is key to living a fulfilled life, and it's also the greatest expression of beauty. As a lady, I have never had any time I think of my skin color of not good enough. I never used any of those bleaching cream on my skin.
That's self love... You are not altering anything because you are confident in who you are. I love that.
Your words are gems my friend. Indeed, our skin color don't define our potential, our ways, and all. No matter what we should be proud of the color that we have and disregard the comments of other people.
Yes, let's block out the negative words of others and be confident in who we are.
Skin colour doesn't define the real us, what matters is our deeds, how we act and how we treat others.
That's right...our acts especially how we treat others. I would take a kind lady over a beautiful one anytime and any day.
Skin color is just a natural beauty of every humans, it doesn't define who we are or what status in life we have. Some people can say anything good or bad about you and you can't stop them, just ignore them and raise your self confidence because you know to yourself that you are beautiful and skin color has nothing to do with it.
Absolutely... Raise your confidence... It's never about the outward but the inward. Thanks for this.
It's not the physical appearance that matters, but the inner beauty.. I never judge people by their color because I consider myself as dark too π
Hahahaha you are a beautiful soul, Janey... In and out... That's true...it's the inner beauty that matters... It radiates more and reflects even more.
I'm a literature student and I really love what you did with those rhymes. It was the best part for me
Yaaaaaay. Thanks a lot, brother.
You're welcome sirπ
πππ
I can say with out doubt you're one of best poet and rhymester on this platform. Life is indeed not for the faint hearted. Just like crypto currency trading (lol)
ππππ€£π€£π crypto world is never for the faint hearted too. See how everywhere is bleeding. Thank you so much, brother.
Oh, that what years ago that you can't be beautiful if you don't have white complexions. Not in this era, just this recent Ms Universe India wins. There are also some celeb , see? Its not about skin colorπ
Hahahaha absolutely... It shouldn't be about skin colour... The world is evolving and we should too.
Hmm.. I agree, the color of our skins dont mean much as we are much more alike inside and that's what makes us humans. Its baffling you know, you wouldn't see a white cow hate a black cow or a dog discriminate another dog of a different color. But humans who claim to have the highest IQ do. βΊ
Hahahaha that's absolutely shocking. Humans who should know and do better seem to do the opposite.
Irony of life, sir
That's right.
Peoples who judge by appearance is biggest fool. Because appearance has nothing to do it after death
That's right... It doesn't really matter.
The way people get judged and labelled based on their skin color is insane and inhumane. This is incredible.
Absolutely...it shouldn't be.
We must always think that we should not judge others based on physical aspect.
Absolutely... We shouldn't.
