Money shouldn't be the only purpose!
Date: 11th January 2022
Hello Readers! How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic Monday, even if it was pretty busy.
It is sometimes weird how we only have a two-day break for five workdays, and this has confused me ever since I was little because I always dreaded going to school for a whole week, to only have saturdays&sundays as rest days.
Like, come on, it won’t hurt anyone if we had at least three days of rest to look forward to every week, lol.
Another thing that I wasn’t too fond of was when people would frequently say that the only thing that is essential in this world is looking for money, and that should be your only purpose.
If you cannot get a certain amount of money, then you are either a retard, or a failure based on societal views, and that is not how things are meant to be.
Yeah, money is essential if you want to live a standard life without suffering, but I don’t think we should focus our whole life chasing money and making sure we end up with the most significant amount of money in our accounts; that is not how life is meant to be.
I was looking through my friend’s pictures, and I saw a quote which I will put under this: It said,
“Nowadays, Life looks like we came to find only money on Earth.”
As I read it, I didn’t think much about it because I was only scrolling through the phone, but some time passed, and I started thinking about it and found out that it was speaking facts, and it was when I reread it I realized.
For a long time, my mind has been fixed on having only one purpose in life: accumulating money and becoming wealthy, but is that my true purpose on earth? I don’t often ask myself this “Purpose” question, but this money quote has made me think about it a lot.
Did I come to earth only to make money? What is my true purpose in this world apart from having money, or is that all?
Money is only necessary because we humans make it that way, but once upon a time, money wasn’t so important, but now it is the only thing we humans think about, and when we don’t have it, we see ourselves as failures/worthless beings.
I had always wondered what previous humans did when there wasn’t money.
I sometimes envy them because they knew their purposes; they genuinely had a purpose, whether it was building a civilization or producing the next generation.
They never failed to achieve them, which is why we are here today.
But nowadays, it feels like we are all chasing another person’s life, and that person only wants to have money in their life, which may not sound bad, but I wish life could have other purposes other than money.
Chasing/Having money isn’t the only reason we came to this world, and I suggest you realize that sooner because if you don’t, you will only wind up chasing something that won’t even give you the happiness you want in the end.
Some people prioritize having money so much in their lives that they forget the other parts of life that genuinely matter.
Getting married, having a family, self-growth, achieving true enlightenment in your life, or finding your happiness, you could focus on all these things because they will show us what life is genuinely about.
Even if you have all the money in the world, it doesn’t beat having family/friends to go back home to every day, and even if you have money, you know deep down that you won’t even be going when you die with your money.
When all your money disappears, everyone will forget you, and it would be like you never existed.
I am not trying to demotivate anyone who wants to have money in their life, I am only saying that money isn’t the whole purpose of life, and even if you don’t have all the money, you can still say you are living a great life, and no one should tell you otherwise.
Thank you for reading!
Money is important but should not be the most important in our lives.
