You will never be ready for your dream job.

Joe got a message from one of his former school principal in highschool telling her that his name was among the list of the applicants who were supposed to be hired but were not reached via phone call. She was instructed to call the number of the employer indicated in the message too. He was excited and can't contain the happiness upon reading the message only to find out that what he expected is not what is offered to him. He was just asked if she would want to be a subsitute for another employee who recently took a leave.

With his hopes picked like an inflated ballon, he still accepted the offer. Holding unto the fact that at least there is something for him and he might be able to use the experience he will soon have if he would apply for another job. He then hurriedly prepared all the requirements needed for him to start the job. There were loads of them. At first, he was energetic and eager to finish preparing the requirements needed but it was very teadious job and he hates being stucked in that process. He lost his energy and motivation to finish the task. In a snap, he felt like giving up.

But after weeks of preparing the requirements, he was able to submit them but he would have to wait again for a go signal for him to start on her new job. He enjoyed the time herself. Curling on to the sofa scrolling someone's facebook feed. It was in the afternoon when he received a message saying that he needs to report to work the next day. He felt lots of emotion. He was excited and nervous.

Excited because after two long years, he would be able to work in a job that is closely related to what he studied in college. Nervous because the future and the people he would have to meet are unknown to him. That is when he realized that eventhough he longed for the job and he prayed that God will lead her to that field, he would still feel nervous and unprepared. He concluded that you will never be prepared for your dream job.

Well, it is not really his dream job. It was his dad's unachieved dream. They wanted him to take that course because it was one of the available and affordable course in their town. He just followed their advice because there wasn't anything in his mind that he would ought to do. Being a doctor or engineer would be too expensive and would sound impossible for him plus he doubted his capabilities. So, he just followed what his parents said.

He has lots of regrets and what if's but he would also console himself that even when he took an affordable and available course back in time, he is still having a hard time to get in to work in the field. So, he took this a challenge.

On his first day of work, he woke up later than the time set in the alarm. On usual days the alarm would wake him up but on that day when he needed to wake up early, the alarm didn't serve its purpose for him. Anyhow, the time was still early and he still ate his breakfast of poached egg and hot cocoa powder. He took a bath and then prepared himself. When he was about to take a short hike to school, the lady who is chatting with another woman by the highway stopped him and inquired for his name. Apparently, she was the boss and she said that she would have to go because she had something urgent matters to attend to and she only left Joe with the other woman.

They then proceeded to hike to the not so bumpy but slippery road because it was under construction and it rained the day before. When they arrived at the office, Joe was mistakenly identified as a student by a guard. After that, the woman oriented Sheya about the basics and the overview of the work and it was on that time when her confidence was drained. He felt like he studied for this but he realized that he needed to do a lot of catch up for the work to be done.

Anyhow, Joe is already there and eventhough he thought of backing out, he can't because it would be too complicated. Meanwhile, he would have to do a lot and learn a lot for the job. After all, he is still a newbie and asking questions to the experienced ones wouldn't hurt that much.

Thanks for reading friends! Until then.

Well done Joe, did he have poached egg and the cocoa on the same plate. You know it is easier to find a job when you are in a job. His dream job will be there one day, he just needs to keep working towards it.

There is a Joe in all of us. Lots of unfulfilled dreams and goals. I hope whatever we are doing right now and whatever situation we are in, we could change that or do something about it to take us to our dreams.

We're old enough to make decisions ourselves. I think Joe shouldn't do anything he doesn't have a mind in.

It's the problem. When we have a course that we want but our parents are the one who decide what will be. There's no freedom. It's really hard.

For me, it's something a heavy feelings when my parents who will decide even I don't like it. Always at the end there will be regrets.

Yes sis. Let us make sure we won't do that to our future kids.

Yes mamsh that's the right thing to do. We should give a freedom to our children by choosing their course.

Some are just temporary and serve as a way for us to find and achieve what we've been aiming to achieve. Well, it's still too early for him and there are still lots of opportunities out there.
