Ultimately, we are on the last and final stop for our whole day island hopping expedition in Coron. This is the Ultimate Island Hopping package and we have to end the day with an unforgettable experience. So far, the best part for me though was the Kayangan Lake venture. I am looking forward to ending this trip with a blast at the last location and this one didn't fail.
Let's look back to where we had been to for the past few hours. We had a lot of sun in our skin and salt and fresh water in our noses today at these locations:
Now, let's move on to the Twin Lagoon! This time, our period en route to the location was long-drawn. We were on the boat for a while, we even had time to take photos of ourselves with the beautiful mountain spectacles of Coron.
The mountains are stunning with their wedge shapes and looking very dangerous with those spikes. But they are attractive and also enchanting at the same time!
Twin Lagoons
Surely this is a must-visit in Coron, the boat entered in between two rock mountains and it was as if we were penetrating a sacred location. It felt like we were in Pura Lempuyang Temple because of how the ridge peak looked like, although I have not been to Bali just yet, its structure resembled that of the gate. Maybe it's just me but that's what I felt as our boat entered the first lagoon.
By the way, this is called twin lagoon because the two bodies of water are separated by limestone cliffs.
As expected, there were still a lot of tourists when we arrived. Boats were going out but most were still floating with just boatmen inside, waiting for their guests to get out from the second lagoon.
Our boatmen looked for their most comfortable spot before telling us to go down. We were told not to go into the lagoon yet and just wait for the rest to be ready. Since the others were still trying to wear their lifejackets, we just tried swimming and exploring the underwater here.
Accessing the lagoon is quite an experience too because we were told to wear our lifejackets and float with our faces up to the sky. Then they had arranged us in a way where the persons at our back will place their feet in our hips and keep their legs under our armpits and we were like a train with our tour guide pulling us into the small entrance towards the second lagoon.
I remember we were giggling as it was funny and awkward at the same time. Well, for me, it was not awkward as I was next to my husband and next to me was my sister in law but my husband and brother are next to strangers, although we have been on the same boat for the entire day, they are just acquaintances and not very close yet. Anyway, it was all for the experience and we enjoyed it.
There are two ways to get in by the way, first was that option that we did and the second is to use the stairs. For our tour guide, of course, it is better to keep us in a particular line to make assured no one gets injured or what climbing that stairs plus there's another set of stairs going down and that's just risky for them.
I guess we were singing as well on our way inside. Can you imagine that? We were like kids on an educational tour. I think we sang row row row your boat. Haha, I can't remember though.
As we reached the lagoon, we were now allowed to traverse and explore. The water here's deep though, mysterious and a little dark so if that terrifies you then you might want to sojourn at the other side. But there's a life jacket so you'll be alright.
Also, there's a rope where guests can hold onto in case they get tired from swimming, kicking, and beating the water just to keep afloat.
Exploring underneath was only possible for those who are good at diving. But snorkeling will give us a glimpse of what's below. We saw corals in the rock foundation. The rocks were like mountain heaps too except that they are submerged in the water. There were tiny fishes swimming here and there.
I was very curious while snorkeling. The colors of the corals beneath were rich, the sunrays strike into the water making it visible for us to see that there's a wall of rock barrier going deeper. I had dived before with a tank and we explored a rock wall filled with corals, this one reminds me of it and its marine life.
We just tarried here until we receive the instructions to go back to our boat but while waiting, we spent the next few minutes taking videos of each other. We also took some couple videos and pictures. Let me share with you these ones below:
Is this considered a public display of affection guys? I know some of you don't like PDA couples, don't worry, we are already married, both of us. It took us a couple of attempts to try to take the images.
This ends our island hopping tour and we went back to Coron's main town. We were all tired, very drained and we need food to recharge and regain all those energies spent out in the water.
Day two of our Coron trip has concluded but there's more to explore. Next, we will go to a beautiful place in Busuanga so make sure you are still with me guys! Cheers!
