Mini Buffet at Coron's Kalachuchi Beach

I never planned to make this a travel blog series from one island-hopping spot to another but then it seems like it is going this way so I hope this type of content is still keeping you entertained.

From Kayangan Lake, we were asked to board the boat so we can have lunch, it was already nearing lunchtime. As I have mentioned in the previous articles, our boat departed late from Coron's Lualhati Park. Again our first destination was Siete Pecados Marine Park then we went to Kayangan Lake and for lunch, we were told we will be heading to Kalachuchi Beach.

Hearing that made me think of the beach having Kalachuchi trees, I could already picture the beach in my mind. I bet it is a wide beach with Kalachuchi trees lined up near the shore.

I actually googled the English equivalent for Kalachuchi. This is Plumeria and it can be a shrub or a tree depending on its height. Usually, they are three to seven meters high. Its flowers are very beautiful, the most common colors are white and yellow while it also has other varieties.

It didn't take long before we reached the said beach. From afar, it was quite obvious that the trees are actually blooming with flowers! It's a good sight but this is just a small beach, however, the waters are really clear and since it's noontime, the light was just hitting right into the water, and the sand's visible from above. It made me excited and want to jump into the water. But first, we had to have lunch.

While it is a short beach, it has cottages and that made it a perfect spot to have lunch. I recall our island hopping in El Nido and we had lunch at the Secret Lagoon, well, not really inside the lagoon but at the docking beach. There were no tables, no chairs, we only had tree barks and rocks to sit on so this one right here in the Kalachuchi Beach is definitely a better one.

Buffet Lunch

Who wouldn't like eating at the beach? If you are like me, I can eat a lot and I don't know if it is because of the salty air or perhaps because of the company but it is just good to eat at the beach, but it is bad for the diet.

Anyway, lunch was included in the tour package and our boat has already all the food cooked for us, they just have to get everything out and put it on the bamboo-made tables. As the cottage is big enough for every one of us, we all sat on the benches facing each other, all eyes on the mini buffet right in front of us.

Grilled fish, grilled pork, grilled chicken, shrimp soup, vegetables, and fruits such as watermelon, mango, and banana. Our hungry stomachs smiled and got our jaws engaged in this meal. I spotted everyone's happy and appreciative faces smiling and just nodding showing their approval.

It took only a few minutes and we all had happy tummies. I recall the plates showing only a few leftovers.

Now, it was time to chill.

Chilling at Kalachuchi Beach

With our tummies full, we decided to find a spot to rest. It's great that the Kalachuchi trees are just near the shore. It gave us shelter from the scorching heat of the sun. The sea waters are just so inviting but we have to turn that down because the sun would burn us if we do.

My brother and sister-in-law asked for some photo opportunities, there were a lot of Kalachuchi flowers on the sand and I took photos of them showing off the fallen flowers.

Our other boatmates were off to the other side of the beach. They went to check out the rocky part while I stayed in where there's shade. I took a few pictures and I was done. I have to save my battery because we still have a lot of other beaches and shipwrecks. When it is hot, camera batteries drain easily too.

We were off to the next destination after having a short nap.

See you at the next stop. For now, you might want to check some other travel articles below:
