Yesterday, shortly after noon time, I went outside to photograph the sky with my Vivo smartphone.📱I'm not endorsing Vivo, nor was I comparing it to Oppo to see which one has a better camera quality... or am I really?🤔
If so, it wasn't intentional...😁 Now, which one do I prefer? Hmm, I'd rather have an iPhone! But I don't have any... Haha!🤣 Soon, when BCH skyrockets and goes to the moon, then, perhaps I can have one.. Yay!
Anyway, here are some macro shots of a Bougainvillea. Actually, these brightly colored, papery blooms are not flowers at all, but rather modified leaves known as bracts. The true flower is that small white bloom hidden within the bracts.🌼 It so so tiny that it is often overlooked. I, for one, didn't notice it until I took a macro shot of it! It was only then that this teeny-weeny pretty flower inside was revealed through the lens of a macro shot.
So, in life, there are some things we don't usually recognize unless we use the lens of discernment. An example, is true beauty. We only see what is visible on the outside and fail to see what is going on inside. We just tend to 'judge the book by its cover'. However, when we use our discernment, we will be able to see the real person.
So guys, don't be fooled by what we see outwardly, instead, look beyond the facade... Discover what lies beneath, only then will we be confronted with the real thing.😀

This was our sky in this part of the world a while ago. Mr. Sun is having difficulty shining down because it is cloudy, with those large stratus clouds scattered around obstructing the sun rays, making the sky grey and dreary!🌥️ The temperature was 28 °C, which was neither too warm nor too cold because we have already adapted to it, unlike at the start of the Northeast monsoon, when such temperatures make you feel cold.
Speaking of adaptation, this is one trait of survival! As human beings, we should have to be adaptable or else we will perish. So, we must adapt to changing circumstances and modify our behavior. As of this pandemic, we should have to adjust to a new normal way of living. With the emergence of new virus mutations, so must we, of course, not to mutate like them... 😁🤣 I mean, in order to combat them, we must change our habits or attitudes in order to keep our bodies healthy and strong. It takes time to learn to adapt, change does not happen overnight... But, with time, we can adjust and learn to live with our fears!
So people, be adaptive! No need to mutate like the viruses and be like the X-men!😁🤣
Simply changing our habits of eating, sleeping, physical activity and etc will result in a stronger immune system!

It's incredible that we can all see the full moon regardless of where we are on the planet as long as the sky is not obscured by thick clouds. And the January full 'Wolf moon' can last up to three days... Isn't that wonderful? So here are some more photos from last night's full moon, January 18, which had a ring around it due to the altostratus and cirrus clouds that were widespread high in the atmosphere.
Well, the full moon is associated with a plethora of symbolism and beliefs. One is that they associate it with human behavior. This is according to the Lunar theory, which states that when the moon is in its full phase, people have a tendency to go insane, hence the term "lunatic." Do you believe in that? or have you experienced weird feelings during a full moon?😁 One scientific explanation could be due to the moon's gravitational pull. A full moon, as we all know, causes high tides. And just as much as what it does to the ocean, it may have an effect on brain waves... Remember that the brain is composed of 80% water.
Another observation is that some people have difficulty sleeping during a full moon. A scientific explanation they discovered is that people have lower levels of melatonin during a full moon. Melatonin is a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle, causing drowsiness, and it can be suppressed by the moonlight at night. Remember that we have trouble sleeping when there is light in the room; this is the same effect that the full moon has on our melatonin. There are many more urban legends about how the full moon affects people, but these are the only ones that have scientific explanations so far.

This was the start of the full moon on Jan 17. At 2 in the morning, I went out to my favorite spot on our small terrace to get some fresh air and do some warm up exercises. And, there the moon was hanging on the western to northern part of the sky on a cloudless night.
Because it was obscured by the electric post, I went downstairs to get a better glimpse at it. The moon had now formed a complete circle in the sky, as it was 100% illuminated by the sun.🌕 The full moon in January is known as the Wolf moon.🐺 Why? They say that the wolves howl more at this time of the year because of the cold winter nights and the light of the full moon that attracts them. And as I went outside in our gate, braving the cold, to take good pictures of the full moon... I just hoped our neighbors haven't thought of me otherwise...😁🤣
Sharing these photos with you... I used bougainvillea flowers as the foreground, but I didn't use the lighting of my phone's camera because the moon was very bright. On one photo, the pink color of the flower was visible when a motorcycle passed by and illuminated it as I clicked my camera.🌸

Last week, we welcomed a new kitty into our home. He's a one-month-old male ginger kitten. He wore a red ribbon around his neck with the Robinson's supermarket logo written on it. Nope, he wasn't bought or given away by Robinson's as you might think. Hehe!😁 Despite the fact that the red ribbon was very pretty that suited him to look like a gift!
My husband saw this adorable orange baby kitty at their workplace and asked the caretaker if he could adopt and bring it home. He put it in a small box with holes and stowed it behind his motorcycle, and off this little 'red riding meow' went on his way home!🐈🏍️
My sons were overjoyed when they opened the small box and discovered a little cute kitten meowing!... It was indeed a very lovely present from their father...🎁 Their faces were beaming with delight!🤩It was as if I were looking at two little boys who were giggling with excitement. My mind suddenly flashed back to their early childhood... Their father used to bring them home kittens when they were in pre-school. When my husband couldn't find a box, he would stuffed the small furry animal inside his jacket. When he got home, he'd surprise the boys... A little bobbly head would then be popping out from their father's jacket, meowing!🐱 You could just imagine how their faces would lit up with joy!😄
Indeed, Alexis Flora Hope's quote, "Kittens are angels with whiskers," is true, as they bring so much happiness and pleasure to us, especially to small children and even to teenage kids as well!😄

This is the moon an hour ago... It is in the waxing gibbous phase. It means that the moon has passed the half-moon stage and is increasing in brightness until it reaches the full moon stage. Gibbous is a Latin word that means "humpbacked." It describes the convex shape of the moon. Tonight the illumination is 98%. Tomorrow night will be 100%, that means the brightness will be complete, hence it is called a full moon.🌝
The sky was clear and bright a while ago, albeit cloudy with those stratocumulus clouds. Sometimes the moon was obscured, but after a while it would reappear. The silhouettes of the post with electric wires and the dangling cables were visible. These dangling wires are already a feature of my sky photography.😉 Editing them out is unrealistic, I prefer them to remain as they are.

Today was an unexpectedly beautiful day!
I was sipping my morning coffee at my study table when I heard sounds coming from the tree outside our window. I went to investigate. As I gazed out the window, I noticed this white male catto on a branch of the 'langka' or jackfruit tree next to our old house.🌳🐈 He was so cute with his white fur and black specks, he's trying to grab the jackfruit leaves, I wonder why, he might perhaps eat them? Yum yum!😋 So I took out my cp and began taking pics of him. He moved quickly, so I just clicked and clicked. However, he simply stopped playing and moved his butt out, my camera even captured it...😁 Suddenly, he peed in the air! 💦 Oh, no!😱 That was gross! I didn't really expect that, it was too fast... It really caused me to abruptly stop clicking my camera and back out. Yay.
It's good I was a few meters away and the pee not towards the direction of our window. These cats are really adorable and cute creatures. However, if they are not adopted (which is why they become stray cats), they will not learn good behavior and will not be toilet trained! So they just urinate wherever they want... Unlike, our housecats, they go to the CR to pee or our backyard but not everywhere, not even on air like Michael Jordan! er I mean that white catto!😁🤣 Yay! Today, was really a Fri-yay to me! Literally...🤪

Continuing on my moon chronicles, here's my moon flower photography 30 minutes after the waxing crescent moon on my previous post. The altocumulus clouds has just disintegrated and dissipated. So you can no longer see the 'corona'!
Of course, I'm not referring to the Corona of Covid-19! But to the "lunar corona" or halo!😁😇
To add a twist to my moon pics, I took a snap of it with some bougainvillea flowers in the foreground!
And, voilà, the moon hasn't become so lovely and splendid not until it was photographed with this gorgeous flowers .

After less than an hour of my first sunset pic on my previous post, here's comes the moon! My first moon photo for this year!
It is shaped like the letter C hanging above the western sky with the planet Mercury below. How did I know it was Mercury? Because it was not as bright as Venus and it was smaller! I just read on EarthSky.org that it is in fact Mercury, the elusive little planet ...

Can you spot it in my photos? Just look for that faintly glowing white speck halfway between the crescent moon and the horizon!
The moon was in a waxing crescent phase on that particular day, the 7th of January. 🌙 A waxing crescent is the first stage after the new moon which occured on January 2. It had 27 percent of brightness, because that was only the area of the moon illuminated by the sun.
I was just lucky to witness this sky phenomena. The sky was covered with altocumulus undulatus clouds, which were rounded masses composed primarily of water droplets. When these clouds are close to the sun or moon, crowns are form. This is due to diffraction or deflection. The light waves strike the droplets and the outgoing lights then form a brilliant ring or halo around the moon.
You can see in my pic the glowing light form around the moon, that is called a "lunar corona" which are common when these altocumulus clouds are in the sky during a moonlit night!
You see, for the moon to glow brightly, it needs these clouds which we thought would block the moon's light, but no...
So, in life, we need the challenges which we think will hinder us from succeeding, but in reality, they will help us bring out our inner glow of self-confidence and intelligence, allowing us to shine brightly... that is, for us to show and put to use our talents and abilities that will help us succeed in life!😀
So, cheer up Noisemates, the cloudy days in our lives aren't all gloomy and dreary but also crowns! Crowns of success... 😇

On the same day as my previous post about my first sky and cat photography....
Here was the sunset during that afternoon!
The sun wasn't visible because it was obscured by dull, gray clouds. These were stratus clouds that resembled fogs.
However, some light rays from the sun did escape, producing faint glowing lights that were reflected in the overcast sky as yellow and pink hues!
You see, clouds are very important as the sun dips below the horizon because they serve as canvases on which they reflect magnificent bright colors! But when they are abundant and thick, they can cover the entire sky and prevent sunshine from penetrating to reflect colors.🌥️
So it is with life, we require some hardships in order for our beautiful colors, which are our talents, to shine. If there are no problems, our true potentials and abilities will not be revealed...😄
So, guys, don't be disheartened when you face difficulties, they are a necessary part of life that bring out the best in us!

Here are my first 2022 cat photos, which I took two days ago.
I found a stray cat in the shade of the bougainvillea flowers near our gate,🐈🌸 and next to it was a parked motorcycle with a padlock.🔒You see even the motorcycle was on lockdown!😁 And this cute kitty didn't seem to mind! She was snoozing peacefully, enjoying the beautiful weather. I took a few shots, hoping not to wake her up or scare her away. She was awakened, but she didn't mind me taking photos of her and just stayed where she was.
There are several stray cats around the neighborhood like this one, and people just feed them. If you adopt them and take them in, they run away. They prefer to stay outside, you can see them under the trees and plants, as well as over the rooftops. You see, even these cats don't want to be locked up inside the house!😄 They want to wander freely outside without restrictions and enjoy the beauty of nature. If these kitties know the feeling of what's like to be confined, how much more we are...?😬
Cats, however, are cats! No worries and no responsibilities... And people are just people who have a lot of responsibilities. So, people, just be patient, the restrictions imposed will be for our benefit.
We must not be like the cute carefree cats, but rather responsible citizens!😄

My first pics of the sky this year were taken four and two days ago...
It was just astounding to see these big fluffy white clouds above me while walking down the street at noon time. The January breeze was a little chilly, but the sky was sunny bright blue, with clouds sailing above like big ships!🛥️ For the past three consecutive days, the sky has been as bright and beautiful as this...😄 These giant clouds are called cumulus 'humilis'. They are usually referred as 'fair weather cumulus'. When they appear on a clear sky they indicate a pleasant weather which last the whole day. They form at lower elevations ranging from 500 to 3000 meters up, which may explain why they appear so close to the ground, resembling a tent providing shade from the heat of the sun.🌥️

Amidst the Omicron threat, this morning I braved again to go outside. Since people were scared of the warning from Omicron news, there were only a few ones seen outside walking. I stopped by a small bakery shop to buy some 'pandesal' (Filipino bread roll) and cinnamon bread. Then I went to a nearby 'talipapa' (small market) to buy vegetables such as broccoli and carrots and to see if any calamansi fruits were already on sale.
And guess what, the first stall I went to had a basket half full of Calamansi! I only bought a small quantity so that there would be enough left for others to buy. I spent P13.00 Phil pesos on 20 pieces (approximately $0.26 US dollars). That is, one calamansi worths 0.65 cents or $0.013... Oh my goodness, the price went up! You see when commodities are in high demand, the price tends to rise!
Anyway, just wanna share this pic... A few hours ago I was reading on Endocrine Physiology, and munching on my tasty cinnamon bread which only costs 5.00 pesos or $0.10, and gulping on my 'Great Taste' creamy white coffee! I'm not an endorser of Great Taste...😁 It's just that our Sagada dark roast coffee has run out, and instant coffee was the only thing available in the 'Sari-sari' store (a small convenience or variety store in the neighborhood that is popular here in the Philippines).
And mind you, I have discovered something today, I tried squeezing one Calamansi into my coffee, and how did it taste?🤔
The tartness and freshness of the citrus flavor brightened it and cut through the bitterness of my coffee! It tasted fresher and better... every sip was absolutely coffee-Mansi-Licious!😋☕

When I went to our local market last week, I passed by the fruit and vegetable section.
There were lots of fruits on display... perhaps because of the approaching new year. They were so beautiful to look at which delighted me to take snaps!😄 First, I'd like to share this photo of Calamansi fruits with you. They look so green and fresh... I bought 1 kilo for only 60 Philippine pesos (about $1.20 US dollars). Calamansi is always present in our kitchen because it is our favorite dipping sauce, along with soy sauce and red chili.
When we got sick after the new year, it was fortunate that we still had some Calamansi left to make for a hot lemonade... You see, Calamansi is full of Vitamin C and antioxidants, both of which can help fight the common cold and flu viruses. We've also used it to gargle with warm water and salt for relief of sore throats. We drank Calamansi juice while taking our cold and flu medications, of course. And it's amazing to think that we've recovered from our illness in just two or three days! 😃
However, our supply of Calamansi had all been consumed so I returned to the market today to buy. But I was surprised to discover that none of the stalls had any more of it. The vendors explained that they had run out of Calamansi because so many people had purchased them! I heard a few days ago that the pharmacies were depleted of cold and cough medicines because they were all sold out! People flocked and bought them in bulk out of panic due to the news of Covid surge and Omicron.
It's no surprise that due to the high demand for cold treatment, Calamansi has also run out! Yay!😪
I'm glad that my story for today has been up to date, but it was caught up on a Friyay! 😁😆
This has just come to mind, "desperate times call for desperate measures." An expression lifted from one of the Aphorisms of Hippocrates, the father of Medicine which states that "For extreme diseases, extreme methods of cure, as to restriction, are most suitable.”

I just wanted to share our simple collage photo from New Year's Eve... I just hope, it's not yet too late!😉 Since we are a small family of four, we did not prepare much food. Our main dish was roasted chicken, known as 'litsong manok.' We bought two of them because they are the boys' favorite.
As a conservative Christian, we don't believe in superstitions or traditions, just like what they say that it's bad to serve chicken or any bird during the new year because the chicken will fly the goodluck away. I just think otherwise, the chicken might fly the goodluck towards you!😆 We didn't have also those fruit-filled prosperity basket... The fruits, of course, were stored in the refrigerator to keep them fresh!😆😁
And we didn't do the tossing of 'lucky coins' or putting them on doorsteps, nor did we wear certain colors or do certain things, such as jumping to grow taller. There are many other more beliefs practiced during the new year that even our neighbors did. But as for us, we just have a simple celebration with no complexities or extravagance.
However, I respect those who engage in such behavior because it is possible that it is what gives them confidence and happiness!
Instead, I believe in the power of prayer and hard work, as the adage goes, 'Do your best and God will do the rest'! Of course, if you want to prosper, you must put in the effort and pray for God's blessings.

These photos are next to the pictures I posted yesterday. I took a snap of them only a few minutes or less than an hour apart. This was the last sunset in the year 2021 and I was overjoyed to have witnessed it! I didn't expect the western sky to have turned out so lovely... The brilliant rays of the setting sun on the horizon created spectacular yellowish to peach hues that blended harmoniously as they were reflected on the altocumulus clouds. It really made the sky scene breathtaking! Even the bystanders outside got curious about what I was photographing above, looked up too and marveled at the beauty of the sky!
It appears that the sunset earlier that afternoon marked the end of 2021 and heralded the arrival of a beautiful new year 2022, with bright days ahead!
It gave me new hope and optimism, in contrast to the brokenness of spirit that I felt the previous days due to the bad news about the worsening of Covid cases... It was as if God was telling us not to worry because He is there, our Omnipotent God, Who is Alive and Omniscient, to hear our pleadings and see our sufferings.😇
He used the blue sky as His canvas and painted splendid colors to brighten our gloomy hearts. God reveals Himself through the grandeur of His creation's grand design. So, cheer up, my friends, because even in the midst of all the chaos, we can see good days coming! We must not lose hope, but rather keep our faith!

These are additional shots I took on the last afternoon of 2021, taken concurrently with my pics of a silvery sky on my previous post which were taken on the western side of the sky one hour before the golden hour. These photos, on the other hand, were taken on the eastern side of the sky. This spectacular cloud arrangement is fleeting. At first the arrangement was more orderly and beautiful but within 2 to 3 minutes, it gradually disintegrated and 10 minutes later, it vanished. These are called Altocumulus undulatus. The term 'unda' is a Latin word that means 'wave'. They appeared like ripples of water and some people see them as fingerprints. However, it was more popularly known as a 'mackerel sky' because of its resemblance to a fish scale. According to one theory, this cloud formation was caused by two opposing movements of air from up and down the atmosphere, resulting in the wavy alternating patterns.
These clouds indicate the possibility of rain or an overcast sky in the coming hours. Whatever it was, that sky was absolutely breathtaking at the time! And, before it fades, I captured its beauty in a click and saved it to my cellphone's gallery.
This means that forecasts are only given to us as a warning, but they do not deprive us of our happiness for the time being... We must make the most of every opportunity and avoid stress because worrying is nothing more than a form of mental torture!🤕
We can't think clearly when we're worried... A relaxed and calm mind can think well and save us from trouble.

The New Year's Eve celebration to welcome 2022 was only three days ago... Time really flies by swiftly! And now it's already the third day of January and I still haven't posted the photos I took on the last day of 2021.😜
To be honest, I must admit that we became ill following the celebration. We had common colds and body aches, so we had to rest, mostly sleeping all day.😪
I just read the news that Metro Manila will be placed on an Alert Level 3 from January 3 to 15 due to increasing Covid cases. And so, the government had to take action to restrict the activity of the people to at least limit the spread of the virus.
There is a prediction that the fourth wave of Covid is expected to occur this January through February, owing to the Omicron surge of cases locally. As a result, this stricter measure is critical for reducing transmission. Isn't it alarming? I for one got scared honestly.
Predictions, on the other hand, are only foresights into what will happen but it can be countered. We should not be afraid or panicked; instead, we should remain calm and follow government protocols. There's no harm in following. It is for our benefit.
When we've done all our best, take time to pray... 🙏
I'm leaving you with this photo that I've snapped one hour before the last sunset of 2021. The sky was spectacularly bright with those altostratus and altocumulus clouds on display. They looked like silvery fishes swimming in the vast blue ocean of the sky.🌥️

My first post for the year 2022...
Our new year began last night! The Philippines was one of five countries to celebrate the New Year with countries in the same time zone, including Singapore and Malaysia, as well as parts of Indonesia and Australia!
These countries are 5 hours ahead in the UTC or Universal coordinated time zone. China is also with the same time zone, but Chinese New Year is celebrated on February 1st. The small Pacific Ocean islands of Line Islands (part of Kirabati) and Tonga were the first to greet the new year. Among the last are American Samoa, Baker Island, and Howland Island (all of which are part of the United States Minor Outlying Islands).
It's incredible to think that in 24 hours at midnight, a spark of new year celebration traveled the entire world, country by country, until it completed the full circle of the globe... just as the earth finished its year-long revolution!

Here are pictures of roses that I photographed three days ago while visiting a local market. I was surprised to see a plant vendor in a small corner with lots of flowering plants. A potted rose plant with many buds costs 250 Philippine pesos, or USD 5. It's quite pricey, but I believe it's worth it. As you can see, the flowers are multicoated and come in a variety of colors.
These are miniature rose bushes that are hybrid tea roses. They are multicolored because they are hybrids or the result of cross-breeding between two types of roses. This is what I liked best about it because it shows off a variety of lovely colors. They are also small, growing only 15 to 30 inches tall, and are perennials. Their fragrance is similar to that of brewed tea, which is why they are referred to as hybrid 'tea.'
Miniature roses love the sun, so they thrive in tropical climates like the Philippines... They're also hardy and have long-lasting blooms, and aren't easily destroyed by pests. Furthermore, their petals are edible and can be used in salads or as a garnish in dishes.
Aside from beautifying the home, they can also improve one's mood.
I believe this miniature rose is a source of positive vibes for the coming year! Its character is an inspiration in that, despite its petite size, it richly blooms all year through and can thrive in the harshest condition! Aside from representing love and passion, it also denotes strength and abundance!

Just as Omicron's first case was discovered on Dec 15, Supertyphoon Odette entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Dec 16!
What an unfortunate coincidence!
Omicron and Odette entered the Philippines almost at the same time wreaking havoc!
However, Odette stole the focus of many and diverted their attention from the Omicron. People were simply eager to get out because many people had already been vaccinated and cases had decreased. Everyone was ecstatic to celebrate Christmas!🌲
They were just too preoccupied about the holiday to become worried and so begun to travel and visit the malls, particularly on Christmas Day.
Moreover, as the New Year was approaching, people began again to flock to grocery stores to stock up on foods to be cooked for the celebration. Every day, the line at the cashier was long.
As other people's cart were full of grocery items for the party, here I was finding myself panic buying for a month's supply of food!😆 Just heard a rumor that a hard lockdown might be implemented throughout the Metropolitan after the new year and I just need to be prepared in case!
There are only two more days before the year ends... Do you have any New Year's resolutions? For me, one of my resolution is to be always prepared. I'd already learned my lesson... and I just don't want surprises anymore!

Avoid or limit your intake of fiery reds because they will clog your heart and arteries with deceptive lipids...
Red meats, indeed... As delectable and costly as it is, it is also strong enough to raise your blood pressure and cause your heart to beat faster!
There are only three more days until the New Year arrives! Have you already planned what foods you'll serve at the party? Have you considered the nutritional value of each menu?

This day was unusually cold compared to the previous days, which were quite warm.
The entire day was overcast, as if a storm was approaching. Outside the window, scattered stratonimbus clouds could be seen in the northern sky. The sun tried to break through the thick clouds just before sunset, emitting a yellowish glow of light! Even though the rest of the sky is dark and dreary, it is still a lovely day to behold such brilliant colors in the western sky. Just ignore the dangling electric wires that are obstructing your view... Don't be distracted, instead, concentrate!😎
So it goes in real life... Just don't be swayed by those who try to divert your attention away from your beautiful dream by saying all sorts of discouraging things. Instead, just keep on dreaming. Focus! And don't listen to them... Be determined and persevere...💪

I guess this was the last decent Christmas party that I've attended during my internship in 2018. I was on duty at the Department of Ophthalmology and all interns from all departments were called to join in and have dinner. The resident doctors and nurses who were not on duty were in charge of the preparations and programs. Those who were on duty have attended through decking and after having their dinner and pictorials they needed to go back to their respective duty post and resumed their work. It was just simple, no exchange of gifts nor gift givings but for those who have been working so hard, it was already a leisure they wouldn't want to miss especially the sumptuous foods.
In 2019, when I was working in the call center, we didn't either had an actual Christmas party. I and my co-agents with our TL or team leader just had our dinner at KFC! We couldn't afford a party because our department was so busy receiving loads of calls during the holiday! The gift-giving and a potluck of foods were done during the new year celebration on the canteen. No programs nor singing were done whatsoever, and our dinner was in a rush because we have to return to our post and receive calls. People were too busy for a celebration unaware that a pandemic would soon arrive which could rob people of their freedom of socializing and gatherings. Now looking back, people realized those wonderful times they had taken for granted. Perhaps people now promise that after the pandemic, they would just take time slowly and would give importance to holidays and celebrate them joyfully with co-workers, friends, and families!

A few months ago, I planned to plant flowers but wasn't able to do it because I was so busy. Buying flowers in pots here are likewise expensive, so I postponed my plan.
Since I don't have any other physical activity aside from doing some household chores and sitting down the entire day in front my study table...🤓 I plan to resume it.
I just remember my parents who were fond of planting.🌱 My father and mother had a green thumb and our home ended up being diversely verdant and colorful from the remainder of the neighborhood where it has a wide range of blooming plants and vegetables around it.
We even had bermudagrasses in our front yard where we could sit and play during the afternoon. I and my siblings grew up to be surrounded by the beauty around us. And I haven't heard of hypertension nor cancer that my parents developed, unlike their contemporaries who suffered from such ailments. Gardening might have contributed to my parents' healthy lifestyle.
I just read an article about the benefits of gardening. And, it's true, it doesn't only make the home beautiful but it does a great deal to promote good health.
Planting plants can exercise your muscles which then help you lose weight. Gardening is considered a moderate-intensity exercise that helps burn a lot of calories, regulates blood flow and lowers blood pressure.
Also being outside in the morning tending to your plants makes your bone stronger because of the vitamin D that you absorb from sunshine.
It can also relieve you of stress because it provides you with a period of rest from the extended periods of utilizing electronic gadgets and being in front of the computer causing strain to your eyes and back.
Moreover, gardening provides bonding with other family members and this can help kids develop a sense of security and self-esteem. And most of all it can make you happier! Being surrounded by green living things and pretty flowers can boost good mood and alleviate anxiety because it lowers the level of Cortisol, the primary stress hormone in your blood.
In this time of the pandemic, many people have sorted to gardening to grow their own vegetable for consumption. Aside from that, it gives them the confidence for the future, that everything will still be alright!

Yesterday at early morning wee hours, after finishing my review readings, I went out to our little patio to inhale some fresh natural air and to do a few stretchings, when this view of the moon met my eyes... I didn't know there was a full moon!
In about two hours the sun would already rise on the east. And it was just marvellous to see the moon on the northeast sky during dawn before dozing off to slumberland...😴
Being awake the entire night and sleeping early in the morning had made me miss seeing a lot of sunrises.
I'm to a greater degree a moonbeam lover rather than a sunbeam individual, even though sunsets likewise captivated me.
However, during the early days of this month, because of the hazy sky around evening time and the many crowded and tall houses here, I missed seeing the moon, particularly its excursion with the different planets, with Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter which are visible in the evening sky. So getting the opportunity to have a brief look at the moon has as of now filled my heart with joy!
Furthermore, quit worrying about that enormous post and electric cables hanging in the air obstructing the view as long as the moon splendidly radiates its brilliance!

Good evening fellow Noisemates!
How are you all doing? Hope you are all fine especially with our noisemates from the Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines where the supertyphoon landed.
As we read in the news, the Philippines has been hit by a super typhoon with the international name 'Rai', and which was called 'Odette' locally. It had the intensity of a signal number 5 storm and according to NASA or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, it was one of the strongest typhoons recorded on the planet this year 2021.
Rai slammed into the southeastern region of the Philippines on Thursday, bringing substantial rains and flooding that dislodged thousands of families to evacuation centers. On Saturday, Rai left the Philippine Area of Responsibility dislodging hungry families and leaving dead bodies. According to the news a while ago, the death toll passes 99 and could reach more than a hundred as at this point, search and rescue operations are as yet in progress. Volunteers both from the LGU or local government units and the NGO or non-government organizations are on the scene giving out dire assistance to those whose houses were ruined and crops destroyed by the strong winds. It was heartbreaking to see such misfortunes of our fellow countrymen especially since it just happened a week before Christmas and the New year.
To those whose families are severely devastated by the storm, my genuine sympathy, and supplications for every one of you. I just read yesterday the post of one of our Noisemate here @Mielboots whose family in Negros Occidental was one of those who were affected and are now in the evacuation center. The roof of their house was blown away by the wind. Their place has been flooded and their crops were all uprooted. You can read her post and hope we can send a little help for her from our hearts and also for the other 'Noisemates' that we have here whose families suffered the same fate.
Moreover, we simply trust that those rich government officials who are already in power and those aiming for positions in the next elections would help. Now is the time for them to show off! To do what they are campaigning about alleviating people from poverty and aid calamities.
I just hope that they would not put the donations in their pockets. So this is now a call for all of us to cast a ballot wisely in the next election. In any case, we ought not to receive momentary assistance in return for our valuable votes, but choose wisely those who are truly service-oriented officials.

The concept of normality in 'Psychoanalytic Theories' has just caught my attention as I was browsing through one of my books in Psychiatry.
It says there that 'normality' is the 'capacity for work and enjoyment...' or as Dr. Sigmund Freud, the founder of Psychoanalysis put it nicely in these German words, a normal person has the ability to "Arbeiten und Lieben"... which means in English, the ability to "work and love".
I just remember our Psychology professor back then in college who was a Belgian priest. He delivered the lectures in class as if we're always listening to a mass' homily. And we just loved it! Everybody in the department adored him because of how he spoke with kindness and compassion. He has become actually my most favorite teacher! 😃
When I was interviewed for my application in the College of Medicine in our university, the head of the Natural Sciences who was the professor of Microbiology was assigned to interview the applicants. He was also a Belgian priest but was so notorious for being a perfectionist and a grumpy old man, everybody in the college was scared of him. After a series of questions that I answered with nervousness, he suddenly asked me if who was my favorite teacher and why? I immediately saw in my mind the kind and handsome face of our psych professor and remembered his remark on Freud's words! With a smile on my face, I told him outrightly, "Father Evarist made the lectures on Psychology alive and interesting... He made Freud's words most beautiful when he says, "A mature person is to be able to work, to love and to pray to God!" Father Brackman blushed... then he nodded in silence. Afterward, he extended his hands and congratulated me with a handshake, "Welcome to the College of Medicine!" Omg, hearing those was one of the most wonderful moments in my life! The fierce-looking Father Brackman was also smiling... I made him smile! 😊
You see, when you put God in everything you do, you will succeed!
