These are additional shots I took on the last afternoon of 2021, taken concurrently with my pics of a silvery sky on my previous post which were taken on the western side of the sky one hour before the golden hour. These photos, on the other hand, were taken on the eastern side of the sky. This spectacular cloud arrangement is fleeting. At first the arrangement was more orderly and beautiful but within 2 to 3 minutes, it gradually disintegrated and 10 minutes later, it vanished. These are called Altocumulus undulatus. The term 'unda' is a Latin word that means 'wave'. They appeared like ripples of water and some people see them as fingerprints. However, it was more popularly known as a 'mackerel sky' because of its resemblance to a fish scale. According to one theory, this cloud formation was caused by two opposing movements of air from up and down the atmosphere, resulting in the wavy alternating patterns. These clouds indicate the possibility of rain or an overcast sky in the coming hours. Whatever it was, that sky was absolutely breathtaking at the time! And, before it fades, I captured its beauty in a click and saved it to my cellphone's gallery. This means that forecasts are only given to us as a warning, but they do not deprive us of our happiness for the time being... We must make the most of every opportunity and avoid stress because worrying is nothing more than a form of mental torture!🤕 We can't think clearly when we're worried...
