Have you ever had a nightmare but a miracle happened?
Last Sunday morning was a very good day for the sun shined so bright and the sky is clear and blue. Though, the temperature was quite high that gives warm and humid weather.
Everyone in our compound was doing their own stuff, especially in the afternoon. Some were sleeping, browsing the internet, did live to sell, and taking care of kids. While my father, brother-in-law, and uncles were drinking alcohol. Yes, it is a liquor ban here but there are still some sari-sari store owners who still sell liquor secrectly to the people who want it. That was why they were able to buy alcohol and drank it under the mango tree next to our house.
Everything was fine. They were happily chit-chatting while drinking alcohol. Until a nightmare happened at around 6 o'clock in the afternoon.
My brother-in-law can not see anything and he suddenly lost his energy. His body collapsed and started to chill. Everyone was trying their best to help him not to lose his consciousness.
My uncles, cousins, and aunties were talking to him not to give up while we were wiping him towels that were dipped into hot water just to wake him up. They even put a spoon on his mouth just to make sure his tongue would not recede. We did that three times and stayed like that for almost two hours. He looked like nasapian when he was chilling.
We were so scared yet did not give up on him. We did our best to help him and save him from death. Luckily, he was able to gain his sight and energy after a few hours. We even called his parents from another town because we were so afraid that he might lose his breath without seeing them. Then at around 8 o'clock in the evening, he finally got better especially when he saw his parents. After that, he was able to sleep and rest peacefully.
That moment was a nightmare to everyone, especially to my brother-in-law. It was my first time seeing that kind of situation and the only thing I did was to cry so hard while shaking. I even could not move when the time he was chilling and almost lost his breath. Our relatives did not give up on him despite the little chances we had to save him from death.
I was worried and almost forgot to talk to Him. But what made me realize that we need God at that moment was that the phone of my uncle that left under the tree was praying. I was shocked because I thought that there was only a video playing on the phone. I was wrong because it was not a video but a prayer at exactly 6 o'clock in the afternoon.
We are still lucky for we were able to survive from a nightmare. I must say that it was a miracle because my brother-in-law was able to survive it and woke up the next morning that was completely okay.
Until now, it is still fresh in my mind on what happened last Sunday yet not scared anymore for I can see that my brother-in-law is already okay and can go to work that completely fine.
For some, it maybe not consider as a miracle but for us who knew that it was already his third time to experience that and witnessed my brother-in-law's struggle and situation that day I must say it is a miracle.
Indeed that there is no impossible when we have strong faith. He will help us in our difficult times and situations that we did not imagine a miracle happens.
In difficult times, it is very important to know who you call and talk with first. Yes, we of course need to do our best to help someone but we must learn to call him too.
We also need to apply this saying "Do your best in everything you do and God will do the rest" because He is the only one who can help us to survive the challenges of life.
