Don't be a desperate writer
According to the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, being desperate means "Willing to do anything to change a very bad situation, and not caring about the danger", it also means "Needing or wanting something very much". This can be reckless, or dangerous because of despair, hopelessness, or urgency.
Most of the time, writers end up doing things or writing and publishing content that they never could have written with a clear mind in a bid to achieve their writing objectives or goal by any means. Being desperate as a writer can make you commit grave writing mistakes and deny you the reward you desperately desire. Desperation has adverse effects on a writer's career.
When you are desperate to succeed as a writer you often end up a copycat. Patience and perseverance are needed to succeed as a writer. The reason why people resort to copying other people's work is not largely due to laziness or not being creative, but desperation. They are desperate to get the results as quickly as possible and could result doing anything without minding the dangers of doing so. You can not make it as a writer by being desperate. It doesn't matter whether you are frustrated or not once you turn to the road of desperation you are going to fall into errors that can gravely affect you as a writer. Anything done in urgency doesn't have value and cannot reward you.
As a writer, you need to learn the system and the platform for which you are writing. Also, remember that several other writers are also writing to get a reward. The value you bring determines the size of your reward, and value comes from being authentic and creative, but desperation wouldn't allow you to produce authentic contents that can get you the desired reward.
Why do writers become desperate?
Insecurity about the style of writing
Many times most writers felt insecure about their style of writing or their niche when their content does not get the exposure they thought it would have or when they don't get enough reward for their efforts in writing. This often leads to many trying to write about subjects they know little or nothing about because they thought those subjects are the ones that people love to read and that the system loves to reward. This is what desperation has led so many writers into especially the new writers on read.cash.
When you saw the reward in the article written by some notable users on the subject of BCH you became insecure about yourself. So everyone wants to write about BCH, even a newbie who should be thinking about giving us a good introduction article is now teaching us what is BCH. I used to be in this category when I started writing here. I thought writing about BCH would earn me more rewards, but far be it. The article that earned me my first big reward was neither BCH nor crypto-related. It was all about my life.
Pressure to make it quick
Most writers become desperate due to pressure to make it quick so they too can have something to show to their friends. This pressure usually comes when you see other writers showing off their rewards and you are earning less or nothing for your efforts. Even some old writers fell for this pressure trap and started writing irrelevant content.
I think we should change the way we introduce read.cash to people. That the platform says they will reward you for your article does not mean they will reward your first article. Even your second, third, fourth, or fifth may not be rewarded. Patience is a test in the writing profession.
When you get crazy after several genuine efforts have failed to produce your desired results
Sometimes people get crazy after several of their efforts in writing yielded nothing. They get desperate to do anything to achieve their goals. Some thought there are users that have the power to influence the system to favor them. This can come up due to frustration, but we must understand how the system works. No writer has the power to influence the system, so there is no favoritism. A writer may be a top-level writer on the platform but that does not confer any authority on them.
Instead of allowing your frustrations to turn you crazy, turn your frustrations into inspiration to produce quality and authentic contents that might get you rewarded. I have written something similar to this in my past article on writer's issues. The best and most authentic content comes when you write with your feelings. There is no need to get crazy about not being rewarded as when you want it, that can only lead to desperation.
Final thought
You don't need to be desperate as a writer or else you will give up soon. Patience, persistence, and perseverance are needed to succeed as a writer. Desperation can destroy your writing career and give you a bad reputation among other writers. Why should you be envious of another person's success story when you have your success to achieve.
Follow the golden rules to be a successful author and you will win. The journey is not easy and there are many things that you have to do to survive on the platform. The reader is one of the main parts of your success. Every writer must work hard to win him/her back over.
If you want to be a successful writer on the platform, you must write consistently and add a skill to your profile on the platform. Stop being desperate today, success awaits you.
I love this.
It reminds me of my Facebook page I opened over a year now. I post stories there. The fact that I'm a student, and I don't always have the time to be regular....I don't have much followers as I should have. And that isn't going to push me from copying other people's stories. No matter how slow my page may be growing, I'm just okay with it ๐๐
