My idea of a fun weekend

let's talk about my idea of a fun weekend!

hmm let's see. I think I'll share with you my idea of a fun weekend before and during the pandemic. We all know that there's a lot of difference between the two. Our life before the pandemic is so carefree unlike now. Before we can go anywhere we want. Do whatever we want and then covid19 came and it changes our daily lives.

Before the pandemic it is a must for me and my friends to go out out of town at least twice a month. Beach is always our destination that is why we really plan ahead usually as early as Tuesday, me and my friends are already planning where to go. By Wednesday we are all decided on where to go, and I'll start looking for a resort. For us, spending the weekend should be far away from the city. Far away from the busy, chaotic life of the city. By Friday morning, we already have our bags as we left our home for work and as soon as the day ends we will start hitting the road.

Everything is packed, clothes, food, wine, and beers. We have a portable griller and stove that we always bring wherever we go. Before midnight we are already check in at our resort of choice. It's always good to wake up in the sounds of waves. I always look forward to waking up at the sight of the beach and the sounds of waves. Then bonfire with roasting of marshmallows and drinks by night time. That's what we love the most, that's why we always head to the beach whenever we have a chance. If not, we head to Tagaytay, where we enjoy the chilly weather. We check-in in one of the hotel and spend our day in the hotel room, watching tv, having coffee while enjoying the view. Of course, never ending talks and updating with what happened during the week. That's our idea of a fun weekend before the pandemic. Going out of town is always a must for us.

But after Covid19 came, it drastically changed.

Last year we still manage to see each other and have coffee once in a while. But now, we just satisfy ourselves with video calls. Sending goodies to one another once in a while to make each other smile. We still keep on planning for our next trip so that we have something to look forward but the question as to when is still unanswerable. But it's fine. I know one day we can still all go back to what we used to be. So for now, our idea of a fun weekend is. Fixing our coffee before we call each other so we can still enjoy that cup of coffee with each other. Watching Netflix till wee hours of the morning. And sleep as much as we can. But after September 30, my weekend fun at my store will start to begin again and I'm looking forward to it already.

I still wish for my weekend fun before the pandemic. But since we can't do anything about it. I learned to accept that there are things that we cannot change. And learned to be happy with what we can do right now. Back to the simple joys of spending time with our family. Cooking for them and enjoying the meals with them. This pandemic teaches us that fun can also be found at home. That it is not boring to spend time with your family and that there is a lot to learn with each other. This pandemic gave us time to appreciate what it is to be at home and that no matter what, our family we always be there for us.

So yes, my idea of a fun weekend changes a lot because of the pandemic but what's important is the idea of a fun weekend is still there.
