Here comes the risk of buying from Tiktok Shop!
Do you love to shop online? As you know, I love buying things online when I need something and to pamper myself as well. Shopee and Lazada are the only applications that I have become addicted to in the past years, but now I think they have a replacement because we already have the Tiktok shop.
Before we talk about our main topic today, I would just like to share with you some things that I purchased there again.
As of now, I have 3 more parcels to receive. The 1 that has been picked up by the delivery guy, but it has been stuck in Manila since yesterday, and those are the:
Items that i bought for my CAT and DOG
I bought him a new leash because I couldn't find the old one that I bought before, and that's why it's been how many days since I couldn't go out with him and walk outside and play. So I decided to buy him a new one.
And of course, I also decided to buy some sausage treats/snacks because he doesn't want to eat feeds or rice and I think he misses eating this one. I bought 2 kinds of flavors, which are chicken and beef. It says that it's buy 1 take 1. I bought 10 pieces of each flavor, so I will expect to receive 20 pieces of chicken and beef.
Order Summary:
The reason why I enjoy buying here at Tiktok is because of their free shipping vouchers. I didn't pay for the shipping fee, and I will just pay for the items that I bought.
Meanwhile, the 2 other items that I bought are this
Waist Trainer/ Trimmer Weight loss corset Belt
You know what? I wanted to buy this thing before I became concerned about my belly fat, but for two main reasons:
First, I don't know how to use it.
Second, the corsets that I always see on Shopee are not my taste in design, according to some customers' reviews.
It's a good thing that I found someone who is selling this kind of thing there.
I bought this one because I am planning to lose weight. And I'm planning to use it when I go to jog and or while I'm dancing to zumba.
Order summary:
This item's original cost is 250+ in the yellow basket. But the good thing is that the seller held a second event, which was that she put this item on sale, and so we were able to buy it for only PHP 194.80. Then again, I have a free shipping voucher, so I only pay for the item again.
And just recently, my younger cousin's shoes were damaged, and she is just borrowing my old white shoes to go to school. Her mother called me earlier, and she was saying that if I could buy a shoe for her daughter and pay me back when she sends her allowance the following week,
Korean Shoes for my Younger Cousin
We watched some live videos of shoe sellers on Tiktok and we found a nice shop where a lot of users were buying their shoes and bought this one. The same as my new shoes, but she chose the color rust.
Order summary:
And then again, I have a free shipping voucher, so I used it again to buy this item and just pay for the item.
Now, in these past few days when I bought these things and when I was scolling up and down to watch some of the sellers on Tiktok shop live,
I found a lot of users scamming people. I thought that when we bought on Tiktok, we would be able to avoid being victims of abusive people because when they sell something, we can watch them wearing it, we can see what the item exactly looks like in person, and they also pack the items that we bought in front of the camera so that they can prove that they are legit.
But no, because the thing is, now that Tiktok has become famous, there are a lot of users who are starting to become abusive because there are these users that
Screen recording the original seller's previous live video and using it to re-live it on their accounts
There is this one user that I caught earlier when I was looking for shoes for my younger cousin. The original shop where I bought the shoes was still open when I bought them, and now it's my time to scroll up and down some more to find interesting things to buy. Then there is this account that is doing live, but the live was the old live of the shop where I bought the shoes.
I was initially perplexed because the video is a live stream that I believe I watched two days ago. I tried commenting and found a number on the yellow basket and told the seller to flex the item. But the seller is not reading my comments. That was the moment I realized that the user was a scammer. I commented that the live was fake and I think I was right because the seller was scared and it became the reason why he stopped the live. It's a good thing that the owner just has fewer viewers.
Another user that is a scammer is
When the sellers are using the same audio of the seller's talk
These users are foreigners Chinese or Korean? I don't know what nationality they are. They didn't reveal their full faces and just showed their chins, but based on their gestures and hands, I think they are foreigners.
It's very suspicious because they are using the same audio of the seller's talk. A recorded voice of a lady gives discounts to their customers.
Well, I understand that maybe they are using this audio or recorded voice of the lady because they can't speak Tagalog since most of the people who are buying at the tiktok shop are Filipinos. But the thing is, they are using the same recorded voice. The words that come out of the recorded voice are the same thing as the voice that says the same thing and offers a discount for their customers.
Do you think this could be part of a scam? What if the customer believes there is a discount on their item even though they don't have it? What if they believe in the freebies even though there's no real freebie on the item that they got? right?
I watched an Asian boy who was selling shoes as well. There were a lot of shoes in the yellow bag, but in his live stream, there were just a few new shoes, and the items in the yellow cart were not the exact same as the items that he was holding. I commented to ask the seller why they were using the same voice as another user with the same AGENDA. Perhaps he read my comment and ended the live stream. I forgot to mention to you that the items were so very cheap. The shoes that he was selling only cost Php 38-50 pesos.
Conclusion...
I didn't say this because I wanted you to be scared of purchasing on Tiktok. I am saying this to be careful about buying there now. Because there's still a possibility that even though the shops are doing live, there are still some accounts there that when they see the other people who are doing great as sellers, they will copy them and steal their live stream and products to deceive other people.
Anyway, this is all for today. I am sorry if I can't convey my thoughts and explanations for this topic very well because my eyes are kind of sleepy while typing these words already.
Again, I am thankful to the hardworking users who are reading this very long blog from the beginning until the end. Thank you all!
