Christmas Online Shopping Advisory Christmas Countdown: 11 Hello there, beautiful people! Many or most of you may not know this, but on Facebook at one time, my husband was quite an authority when it comes to online selling lol. He coached how to sell, how to market and how to establish good relationships between buyers and sellers. During that time, he established about 6 groups (somewhere between 2011-2014) for online selling and it mainly is for the Philippines because a lot of people sell from home. Shopee and Lazada were not so popular at that time yet. During that time also, he learned with the group a lot about online scamming and he created an anonymous entity called **"Scammer Buster"** along with a group called **"Scammer Busters"** where he worked outside of legal bounds and would investigate and research those who were claimed to have scammed people. **Long story short, he dealt with over 1,000 cases and he advertised them wholeheartedly (that was the outside the legal bounds part) but it did keep people in his groups aware of who was who. He even held public trials. It was quite risky and at the same time beneficial.** Christmas is the silly season as many may know. Profiles pop up, unbelievable prices start being advertised and sellers you never heard of start advertising as well. My husband will tell everyone what he tell his groups: **"BE CAREFUL who you deal with!** **Be wise and deal with those who have profiles that are not private or who have been referred to you by a friend who has bought from them. Do your research!"** A friend of ours (someone who is like family) was one of the admins of a group on Facebook for online sellers, and the most common issue in there is whether someone is legit or not. There was one day she was asked if someone she did not know was legit or not. She looked into it and gave her best estimation based on what she saw, as it turned out the person scammed the person who was asking later after our friend said she **"thinks"** she is legit. Now, our friend is very distraught because the person scammed is blaming her. Now, I will say what my husband told her: **"A person can never blame another person for them getting scammed.... really they cannot even blame the scammer. THEY made a choice to take a chance regardless of if someone said they think they are a good seller, you cannot be responsible for what someone else chooses, or the timing in which someone decides to do wrong."** So, if you are buying online, take responsibility for your choices, they are yours in the end. Be smart, do your research, use logic and deduction. The choice is yours.

Do you know how much this kind of advice is needed now? Nowadays online marketing has become popular. And many are being victimized by scammers at this time. So some precautions have to be taken.
Oh thank you for the kind words, Mazekin :)
Reminds me of that one time my friend got a deal for Diwali last month, you know India's biggest festival for Hindus.. and she clicked it to grab the deal.. she even successfully purchased the product but what went wrong was she should have selected COD as this is a new site she never heard of.. but they asked for extra dollar for cash at delivery option and she did not want to spend that extra dollar and ended up paying upfront just to save a dollar, guess what, she lost $140 dollars in her bank account when they stole her debit card information.. this is ridiculous.. poor woman lost her who savings just to save a dollar People have to be always careful purchasing online and always do it from sites you have previous experience
Awww that was kind of sad :( Btw doll, Happy bday and congratulations, India got the Miss Universe this year!

Yupppp that is correct.. we still need to own up to our decisions... So creepy though. Scammers are becoming more and more crafty. And will really capitalize on people's desperation.
Waaaah...... Misssshuuuuu! BAwi later, Pich ha? Wag na mgshopping jan hehe. Labyu!
We should aware with scammers ate, well said.
Cases of online fraud are constantly increasing, where our choices and vigilance will come into play to protect ourselves. After all, it takes a lot of skill to defraud a conscious person, maybe even that may not be enough. It hasn't happened to me so far, but I do as much research as possible and try to use my choice correctly.
I agree. There are transactions that seems to be ok at first but the next ones becomes problematic. What we can do is be very mindful of our dealings especially that we are spending our hard earned money. There are many scammers out there, seeking for the possible prey.
There are going to be many scams during this Christmas season so we should be careful and don't sell things to those we don't know.
Going online shopping for New Year's gifts, we risk falling into the trap of financial scammers on the World Wide Web. On the one hand, online stores are convenient because there are no queues. If we are going to make an online purchase we should first make sure that the site really belongs to the online store. I also have a separate card for online shopping, intended only for online shopping. I have a separate card for online shopping only. Thanks for the article and take care)))
A lot of bustlers and scammers will appears at this Christmas event. Yeah that's right we must avoid those scammers as much as possible. Thanks for your precautions
Ouch! Masakit mascam pero tama nga naman sino nga ba iblame ko, mali ko lang at madali din ako mgtiwala. Bumabalik na naman ang sakit ng kahapon na muntik nako lamunin ng depression
I bought something online and I got the complete opposite and not just that the cloth was ripped in the middle but placed so I wonβt see it.. I will rather go through in store shopping for Christmas than use online.. Good night Blogy
You are 100%sure right!..we are the ones reaponsible for all our actions hence we should be smart at all times.
That's why reading reviews and legit checking are really important. I love supporting small business but is afraid of the risk on being scammed. ~Manju
I always try to avoid online purchases because there are lots of people who advertise something different from what they sell to their customers. I got to know that they even put fake reviews to confuse people but all the same, it is wrong to hold people responsible for our bad choice of choosing an online seller.
I agree with you as buying online it quite risky especially if not from a certain company. I had an officemate who got scammed just recently on facebook. It was P10,000. He was supposed to buy an iphone from the seller.
Scammers can be found everywhere so we should be aware to them by checking the reviews if it is legit. And your P.S is right ate haha, if we don't need it then we should not waste our money to buy it
Middle class po cguro yung buhay nyu naol! Hehe, shop ng shop tayo!!
Thank you for reminding sis, I learned a lot this morning
You're welcome, sis!
Yup i agree with you that in buying everything we must also think what is good for ourselves and to have the value of money.
True that, Melissa. Kaya wag padalus-dalos sa pagbili. Good morning!
Naku totoo po yan, Kaya laging mag iingat at wag baxta bxta magtitiwala. Lalo na pag sa online, sa panahon ngayon narami ng manluluko.
Nasa tabi-tabi lang sila, sis.
The festive period is one of those times that we all need to be careful when it comes to buying and selling online cos it is during this time scammers will be everywhere pretending to be a good buyer or seller just to scam a lot of people
They are now roaming around, Gaf! π¬
Tama ka ate walang ibang masisi kundi ang sarili at isa na ako sa na dyan kaha ayon careful na talaga.
True that, sis. Ingat ng madaming beses. Good morning!
If you don't need it, don't buy it. Noted. Sometimes, I tend to forget that sis. I should put that somewhere so I would always be reminded of it.
check mo nasa cart mo, sis baka di din kelangan hehe
Right, my friend, we have to watch out when we buy online. In recent years have proliferated internet scams since here many sales are made in informal WhatsApp groups. It's nice to have you back here, amiga!π
I have been scammed too, amiga. Thank you. I am trying my best to set aside some time here. Good morning!
Do your research before you buy, definitely
Yup, definitely Frank!
For sure you already added a lot to your cart for this Christmas π .
hanggang dun na lang, sis. add to cart, delete, repeat π
That's the consequence of buying online ,what I mean is the outcome of it. A lot of people are now trying to use the online platform to scam other, especially the products that is advertised but when it came to you it's the different one or worse the product is not worth for the amount.
