Feeding The Flames A blessed Good Friday, read.cash! I thought to still be taking some off today since it is still Holy Week, but I stumbled a short video on Facebook that kind of bother me. `Disclaimer:` `The views and opinions posted in this article are not intended to insult nor malign any individual, group, organization, company, religion, race, or a thing. If you find this post offensive, please ignore and go to the next post. Thank you very much.` This is one of those topics online that will diversify people, but you know what? I will give my thoughts on this one and I am guessing, I would get some rebuttals here and some may not agree on what I am going to say, so let's begin the discussion.
**TWERK IT** **So, there's a little girl at 7 years of age dancing and twerking in front a camera wearing an extremely sexy outfit with a very explicit music (with drug and s*x lyrics) in the background that it's excessively unequivocal for her age. The person taking the video is no other than her mom and she was very proud for what her little girl's doing. That is kind of sad and disturbing to me. I'm guessing the type of mom who thinks it's cute doing that is isn't much concerned with appropriateness.** Alright, before you lash out and tell me "stay out of other people's business, it's their life", let me simply express what I felt watching that 30-second video.
I am a mother of 9-year old girl and there are numerous things not innately hostile that I actually wouldn't allow her to do. She can enjoy her hobbies, she can dance if she wants to- that would be awesome (unfortunately she's not into it), but I'll stand up and say "NO" when she goes beyond inappropriate. She's 9. Let a kid be a kid. Pass on the twerking to the grown-up adults, where I can see the value in it. This kind of dance is a sexualized act. A young little girl should not in any way do it. Some think it is cute, silly and funny. So if you take a highly sexualized activity, and have a little girl do it, it's just cute and silly? I can't think anything of a good opinion as to why a parent should let their kid do it. Yes sure, they can. It's legal because no one is saying it isn't. It doesn't mean they're better off. Okay, some ladies and women twerk just for fun, dancing, hobby or even as a way of their workouts. That's fine. I have no problem with that. Having said that though, I don't think minors (ages 12 and below) should twerk in public especially broadcasting it on social media. It's totally a different story. I am a little conservative and it makes me feel old expressing what I feel and so be it. I am definitely side eyeing a lot of young little girls nowadays, and looking at *my* daughter making mental notes. No and again, not in my house.
**If someone thinks it's cool to jump off a bridge and told you to follow because it's the trend, would you?** In this time of global pedophile rings, who in her sanity would take care of that sort of fire. You are feeding the flame and that is a clear child-abuse. Again in my point of view, that is not okay. It it never okay. Parenting to me is a very serious matter. I'll leave it at that. Respect.
Let's show our best to people we truly care about especially to the young kids who rely on us so that they will get the best of us, not what's left of us. Wishing you all a decent Friday, my friends. Actually not only in children I find it disturbing but also to ladies. I can't understand sometimes why they kept on twerking in the camera wearing that clothes that seems nothing to hide?🤔🤔 Bakat na bakat pa minsan
Mapapa "sigh" na lang ako, sis :(
Kaya nga eh, same here
So true sis. Just because it is what everyone's doing is it's right. I don't like twerking as part of the dance steps. I actually don't do it. When I join Zumba or any other dancing sessions with twerking, I don't do it. I am a bit conservative too, especially when it comes to my kids. I watched TikTok with Bam, I deleted it after that. I don't want them exposed to inappropriate stuff online.
Good job, mommy! Much respect!!
This trend is getting widely spread all over the world. It's so sad to see innocent children getting strongly influenced by what they see other do on the media and their Parents think it's cool... The young shall definitely grow, and I can't help but wonder how they'd turn out to be.
It is very sad, Bilqess. I dunno how to explain it, but my heart goes to those innocent ones who are clueless of what they're doing.
The mother should be more careful about what she let her kids do especially on social media. Such inappropriate acts allowed especially to the kids to perform could lead them to not be able to distinguish what is right or wrong anymore.
Amen to that, Kendy. No because it is "uso" eh gayahin na. Isip isip din pag may time hehe.
Tama, sis. Should be appropriate to their age.
Funny how the society condones mundane things these days. I'm glad you aired your view, I for one, don't find a girl; twerking at ages below 12, awesome and I'll definitely train my daughter with this principle. Happy good Friday to you.
Forgive me, my fellowmen but in the Philippines, this is "almost" normal and I find it absurd! Happy Friday to you too, Ella :)
This is absolutely absurd, ridiculous and bizarre. Of a truth, I just think some parents are the ones who end up destroying their children's lives. How on Earth will a mother, (probably I should correct myself, she isn't worthy of being called that), How on Earth will some Lady , (better word) ask a 8 year old girl to start twerking. Imagine. Oh my God. Where exactly is the world heading. Damn. Where are those morals of our forefathers. I dunnot care if anyone's opinion is otherwise, I stand firmly with you on this. One last thing though, I will like to implore you to make sure you train your girl in a good way, cos who knows probably the sets of girls might be her school mates and might teach her other untennable bad morals. You know, peer pressure and all. Happy Friday though.
My thoughts precisely, Michael. It's sick! I mean, I could not handle it.
Jusmiyo!
For fun nga lang for me yun Ma'am. Tas yun nga, totoo yang sabi mo ba. Kaawa kasi yung bata na na.i.engage na sa mga ganito tas pangit pa yung music. Hindi akma para sa kanila talaga.
taz kinakanta pa nila jusko huhu
Oo nga eh. Na. LSS din sila. :(
Dapat tlaga sis iyong tama iyong ipapakitang sayaw at angkop sa batang sasayaw sis.
Yes, sis. Yung sakto lang sana for their age.
Gosh, I feel sad for what my mother did, a 7 year old child who doesn't know and knows sexually why they have to be sacrificed when they don't understand things like that. maybe the purpose is just to entertain but the image is like having abused a minor it's true it's their right to do it but what about the fate of the children who watch the video will they be inspired? This is a very sad incident, I hope this will not happen again. Happy Good Friday, God has sacrificed for us human beings.
My sentiments exactly, my friend. Poor little girl.
I am fond of my daughter while dancing but not infront of the camera with that kind of background music, maybe they did not understand the lyrics.. Before I sing a song, I am surely listen to its lyrics, if its okay then be it, but if not .. I had to delete it..
Indeed, Dawn. Make sure the lyrics are safe. Kids adapt things very easily and they memorize fast. I hope what they're memorizing are appropriate to their age.
Yes sister, I totally agree with you, parents should be as conservative as you. Just because someone is eating poison does not mean that the poison is honey,,,
Nailed it. Apex!!
Actually the world is becoming like that, we can't protest on many things that is unliked by us. Not only for us, we can not let those things to appear infront of our closed ones or precisely can be said childrens, those acts can impact childrens future or at peast thinking capability. All we can report but if that goes trend we can no longer control because those things goes out of our hand. We can make awareness but it depends to them to obey or not. If the society welcomes these things then we can not move toward a bright future with our childrens.
The the last option, my friend. It breaks my heart sometimes me when I feel helpless :(
Being religious can bring changes. In our Islam there is many rules for girls and those are to protect them also teaching them the behaviors or how the life can be lead with. Don't be helpless, keep strength and don't allow those things to see your child. Make some strict rules which will be obeyed by childrens for their betterment.
Thank you for your thoughts, my friend. I do appreciate it!
You are most welcome dear, anytime!
Is this the influence of the media so that many people often offer videos to seek image but must in an inappropriate way? the issue of pedophiles has not yet been completed, now there are things that are contrary to minors. I pray that this will not be done again because it is a pity to see children who do not know anything.
That's extremely irresponsible of the mother. But then again, that's how much moral has died in today's world
Allow me to express my sincere, deep gratitude for your support and help, for your inestimable attention and human warmth! May your responsive heart be rewarded with the most generous gifts of nature: love, faith, and friendship. I thank you for your continued!
There are just so many parenting failures these days. But who am I to dictate what other parents should or shouldn't do. To each his own, they said. But I strongly concur with your view. I certainly think it is not okay for a minor to act in such a way or be exposed to such music/lyrics. I have a 12 years old daughter who is going through puberty and her school friends are all into stuff like that. Her dad and I monitor her WA conversations and if anything like that appears in the chat, we would talk to her about why such convo is not right and encourage her not to respond or just say no. We can't protect them from all the negative worldly things forever but we can teach them where to draw boundaries.
You're doing a great job, momma!!
Seryoso sa 9yearsold na nagtetwerk? Luh di manlang sya mapagsabihan o maturuan ng oarents nya? Coming 21 nako pero ung twerk diko parin alam until now.
Nku nman parang yayaman agad sis
lol
People have so much entertainment with posting videos they do not care about the implications. Tamo if that is shareable and some sicko starts re sharing those, aalma naman ng kung ano anong rights rights and abuse abuse....... Ewan ko ang imbalance ng mundo...v
Twerking is fun. It is fun when you do it in appropriate way. But for this little girl you mentioned, it's a big no. I have two sisters, and I would definitely not allow them to do it in front of camera and upload it online.
