We can't deny the fact that even we've gone into a serious situations, we Filipinos still look forward to make the situations turns its table. I mean, its nature to us that when we experienced crisis or our lives were at stake, we still have this so-called, "Confidence" to smile and laugh.
Few days back, typhoon Odette became the biggest disaster that most of us experienced, especially those who are living in Visayas and Mindanao regions. "Mga nawalan na nang tirahan, kabuhayan, at namatayan pa nang mahal sa buhay." But, as what they say, "Life must go on." It may be hard to start all over again, but the mere fact that God has given us a new day to continue life, we should not let the chance to just go through, without doing anything about it.
Writing this piece today, reminds me the times that I able to spent my family and neighbors. All the worries and scared moments they have shared on one time event of our lives, and the most unforgettable funny moments we had upon sharing their stories. Three days after the typhoon, my mama and I decided to visit some of our neighbors. As for my papa, he went to the proper to visit his friends too. It was around 7:30 pm at that time. Because the moon was so full, which lighten up the night, we decided to have the "chika-chika time", outside the house.
One of our neighbors started the conversation stating her experience during the typhoon and then the unforgettable and funny scenes they had. As what she said, it was then during their family dinner. Because of the brownout, they used a kerosene lamp as their lighting while they were eating. Her son, asked her to put some "kalamansi" on their viand for it to taste even better. So, she went to the kitchen and looked for it. But when she was about to put it up, the kerosene lamp was blown out by the wind. (Dumilim ang paligid). She had taught that she picked up the kalamansi but it turns out that it was a "poop" of their cat. (My apologies for those who are eating right now!) Yes, a poop! "Yung tumigas na poop nang pusa nila. HAHA.XD!" We were laughing out loud while she continued the story. At napasabi daw siya sa anak niya na, "Dong, this is not a kalamansi, its a poop!" Ang nangyari, hindi na nila tinapos yung hapunan nila. (Laughing)
Then, my elder Aunt also shared her funny experiences. As what she said, it was around 8:30 pm when they had their dinner. My younger Aunt made a "Sinigang" as their viand that time. My Uncle, which was the husband of my elder Aunt was so confused upon looking the dish because the color of the soup was black. Even my cousin too, which was the son of theirs. When they tasted it, they said, "It was not good." My younger Aunt insisted that it was good because they almost had twice a bowl of it. So, they continued eating. Then they asked for another bowl of it. So, the wife of my Uncle, started to scoop some of it, when she noticed that their was a leak in their dirty kitchen's ceiling and it black. ("Naiwan pang bukas yung pinaglutuan nang Sinigang!Haha.XD") Then, she said that she was also confused why their kitchen was lightened up even when there's a brownout. So, she looked up and she saw that there's no roof on the ceiling anymore. "Nagtawanan na naman ulit kami. Ganun naman pala ang nangyari. Ba't kasi iniwang bukas yung pinaglutuan, yan tuloy, naging itim yung sabaw. Haha."
Then our random conversations continued up until midnight. And what comes in my mind was, even we've been through a great disaster at that, still we found a reason to laugh out loud. At ang lahat ay nagsipag-uwian na din pagkatapos.

At talaga namang nananalaytay ang pagiging dugong Pinoy no? Sa gitna nang kalamidad o sakuna, hindi lang puro mangangamba yung nangingibabaw o tinatatak sa isip ba. That despite everything that happened, nagagawa pa ring tumawa without feeling the guilt or worry. And let me say, "Odette, you are just a typhoon, but us, WE ARE TOUGH!" You may have destroyed our lives, our homes, our livelihood, but thank you for letting us learned and experienced funny moments too.
Thank you for reading fellas. I was suppose to publish this one yesterday, but our signal in here was quite poor.
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!😇

You have to keep the joy in difficult times, poor boy, I can't imagine him with that in his lunch box.
