Today is November 04! "Nangagamoy Letchon na naman sa kalapit na Barangay dito sa'min." Its the fiesta celebration of Barangay Cacao. "Arat na! ITS PALAKS TIME!"
Hello there my read.cash family! How's your day doin'? What makes your day busy right now? How about your health and financial state? I hoped still be in good, amidst the pandemic, huh?!
Anyways...For today's blog, let me share to you about the things we do during fiestas in our own barrio and those in our neighborhood barangays. And as well as, my personal experiences, before and after the global pandemic came to be one of the hindrances to celebrate our barrio fiestas' with a blast.

As what I have written as this blog's title, today is the fiesta celebration in Barangay Cacao. Its one of the secluded places here in our town. "Magkalapit lang yung barrio namin at ito." Their patron saint is "Our Mother of Perpetual Help" or "Berhin sa Kanunay'ng Panabang" in Bisaya.
This Barangay Cacao I've mentioned is a barrio where my mama was born and raised when she was still a child. Actually, some of the siblings of my mother lived in this barrio, together with our other relatives. So, supposed to be, we will be in there today. Lol. XD ("Maybe later" XD)
-Feel free to check out the works of my amazing and generous sponsors. They really are a great writers!β£οΈ "THANK YOU FOR SPONSORING ME, MA'AM'S AND SIRS."πββοΈ

Attending the Mass
- Its not necessary, I mean for those "hindi naman masyadong pala-attend nang Mass."(I am refering myself.Lol) But its really important to do so, because aside from asking Him(π)for blessings and forgiveness, its a chance to give thanks to Him for another year that come for us to be able to celebrate the Fiesta, again and also giving thanks to the patron saint.
Watching the Championship Game of "Liga sa Barangay" (Basketball and Volleyball)
- Before the pandemic, this "Liga sa Barangay" is one of the highlights in our barrio fiesta. Actually, our team in Volleyball also joined in the said event, Volleyball to be specific. There are lots of people form different towns and barangays attended the event, cheering for their chosen teams. The thrill and excitement before, during, and after the games was there. "As in, super saya talaga." In Bisaya, we say it, "Kabibo Ba!"
Attending the Disco
- Yes! Another highlight of barrio fiestas is the Disco. I'm not that fond of attending tge Disco, it just happened when I was still in high school.
During this time, there were also another events of the night, "Sing and Dance Contests." Not to brag, but I am one of the champions in the Singing Contest held at Barangay Cacao way back 2014. I won Php 3000 as the first prize. Then the following year, the Barangay Council asked me if I can join again to defend my title but I was busy at school, so I didn't make it, still, I am happy that I have a memorable experience in that said event.
"Sabong" and Card Games
- "Sabong" means cock-fighting. But...No! No! No! I never attended this one. "Hindi naman ako mahilig sa sabong." HAHA.XD. Same is through with the Card Games. This event was for those like to gamble. "Allowed naman siya, pero ngayon na may pandemic, hindi na muna."
And lastly...
Eating Time
-We called it, "Pakals." For those, "yayamanin na may-ari nang bahay, may pa-cater talaga." But for those who can't afford to do so, its just the usual set-up.
"Naging kaugalian na dito sa amin na tuwing may fiesta, laging may salu-salo." Three days or even a week before the fiesta celebration, "ang mga mag-fi-fiesta ay nag-i-invite na nang mga tao" to attend the said gathering. "Ang bongga nang handaan, as in, may pa-letchon pa yung iba eh." Then after, may pa-bring home. Lol.XD

I really should say, "KABIBO BA!" How I wish that hopefully, this pandemic will come to an end, so that we can celebrate again our barrio fiestas' with a blast.
Hopefully, this coming February, "bumalik na sa dati". (Sighs!) Three months to go and we will celebrate our barrio Fiesta at Barrio Hampangan.

It looks like a good holiday, unfortunately the pandemic doesn't let you do much these days. I pray that everything returns to normal, although with great caution.
