"Shut up!" she said and then her mouth was all over his. He would like to fight back and stop, but he still sees Carrie's face. He just couldn't fight it off. And he just went with it. He kissed back, hard. He wanted her to feel just how he missed her. The kiss was passionate, it was rushed. It felt like a contest between them of who could suck on the other's lips the hardest.

He didn't pay attention to the tears on the side of his eyes, he just savored everything they were sharing. The girl's lips even felt and tasted familiar. He just dismissed everything and blame it on the alcohol.

Her lips traveled from his mouth to his neck. It's just the way he likes it. It's the way how Carrie does it. Everything she does brings him back to the steamy nights they shared. He's not complaining. He's taking it all the way. He would love to have another night with her, even if it's just a drunken hallucination.

Their clothes were gone and their restrictions tossed away on the floor. The night was filled with bliss and it was as if it was they know that they won't see each other again and they poured out every bit of energy and made sure that both their performances were hall of fame worthy.

Brent collapsed unto the bed after some passionate loving. He dozed off to sleep as the girl lay beside him watching him silently. It was just about after midnight when Brent woke up. He looked around the room and realized what had happened. He just hooked up with a girl who he thought was Carrie. He sat upright on the bed and his head was still dizzy. He could hear the water running from the bathroom. He thought that the girl was in there.

He waited for a bit and the bathroom door opened revealing the naked figure of the lady he had just intercourse with and she had the towel wrapped right above her head.

"C..C..Carrie?"

"Oh! So you're awake now. How's the head?" Carrie replied.

"W..wha... wait. What?! What are you doing here in Singapore? I thought... what? What is going on?" he was confused. His emotions were all mixed up inside. He was glad, he was mad, he was excited, and he was all over the place.

"So I wasn't hallucinating? It's really you!" he marveled.

"Yes, it's really me," she replied.

Carrie explained the events that transpired that led them to the current situation. Apparently, Carrie and her crewmates were in Singapore for a couple of days and decided to have some fun. And by pure chance, they were both staying at the same hotel. And as luck would have it, she found him crying on the floor as she was on her way to her room to call it a night and the rest is history.

"I missed you, Carrie," he said.

"I know. You said a lot earlier," she replied while slipping into her underwear. "I missed you too honey."

He still couldn't believe that he was in a room with her. All this time, he was wishing to see her, he has all these things he wanted to say and he created several speeches to say in front of her, but at that moment, he couldn't say a single thing. He couldn't even decide where to start. He didn't know what to do.

She was there, in front of the mirror, putting on her makeup. "I have a flight at 3 a.m. so I'll be going ahead. The room is paid for and you can stay until the morning."

She got up, picked up her medium-sized suitcase and she looked stunning in her blue stewardess uniform. She walked over to him, kissed him on the lips and she was halfway out the door when he called out to her.

"Wait. Is that it? You're just leaving me, hanging, again?" Brent said.

"What are you talking about? This is my dream. This has been my dream. You knew that. You do know that right?" she said.

"But what about ours? Our dreams? Don't they matter to you?" he said.

"Don't be unfair Brent. Of course, they do, but those dreams, that's all they are, that's all they are going to be. We can't afford to make those dreams to be real. But this? This is my life now."

"I took down an offer to be a seaman because I didn't want to work away from you. But then you turned around and jumped right at the first chance you got. How could you?"

"Brent, I did not tell you to do that. You did that, all by yourself. You didn't even talk to me about it. Don't blame it on me. I'm really sorry. I have to go. I just have to..." and with that, she was out of sight.

Brent buried his face in his hands in exasperation. He lost her yet again.

It was one hell of a night, it was a wild night. And it was a night that woke him up. It was the night when he decided to pick up the remaining pieces of his life and start anew.

That seafaring job that he once declined, as fate would have it, it was still available for him and he took it. He was having fun. Going around the world, frolicking all over the world. He's got everything but he couldn't settle down, still. He could fix everything about his life but he could do nothing about his heart. Years passed and it still belonged to the one and only woman he had loved, Carrie.

The cab pulled up in front of Brent's old house. He got down from it and the driver helped him with his luggage from the trunk. He stood in front of the house which was now fully renovated. It has been 3 years since he last went home. Everything has changed but weirdly enough, it still feels the same to him.

He went inside and his mother met him at the door. She was surprised and was so excited to see her son. She hugged her tightly and screamed to call Brent's father from inside the house.

"Why didn't you say you're coming home today! We could have picked you up at the airport." she said.

"Nah, I wouldn't like to impose."

They said their pieces and he went straight to his room. He collapsed unto the bed and stared blankly at the ceiling.

"Home sweet home," he whispered.

He sat back up and fired up his computer. It was old so it was pretty slow. And nothing's changed about it. Even the homepage of his browser was set to Facebook. He hasn't touched that site forever. On a whim, he tried to login into his account. He totally forgot what his password was but after a few trials, he tried an old password of his, Carrie's name, and her birthday. He got in. He shook his head and just smirked.

There were a lot of unopened messages in his inbox, most of them were from his friends. But there was one message that caught his attention. It was from Carrie and it was years old already. He opened it up and there were a lot of messages saying "call me". That's it, nothing else. What a cryptic message he thought. He tried to reply but he was not even being seen. After a few minutes, he moved on.

After a meal, he went back to his room to rest. But he couldn't still get his mind off the messages he received from Carrie. He went back again to his computer and into Facebook. He clicked on her profile. The profile looked deserted and was pretty inactive for a couple of years or so.

He tried to search more about her and he was shocked and was really upset about what he learned. Carrie died of cancer 2 years ago. He didn't know. He wouldn't know. And he couldn't believe it. He couldn't control the tears that rolled down his face. He was sobbing. He was wailing. His mother heard him and ran up to him. She saw what he was reading on screen and just hugged him tightly.

And she said to him that Carrie dropped by several times in their house some years ago. And she thought nothing of it. She didn't even mention it to Brent before because she knows that he's trying to move on.

The next day, Brent found out where she was buried and went to pay his respects. He sat down beside her grave and just cried.

"And even in death, you're really rushing things. You left me, again. But this time, it's for good."

"B..Brent? Is that you?" a woman's voice came up from behind him.

He turned around and it was Emma, Carrie's mother. She was accompanied by a little boy.

"Granny, who's that? Why is he crying for Mommy?" the little boy asked.

"Bran. He's your daddy."
