I Was Part Of The 306,000 Pink Individuals
Election day is fast approaching and campaigning is still ongoing. We are two nights before the day we are going to vote for the right ones and in this blog, I just want to share what happened yesterday.
I attended the miting de avance of Leni-Kiko and the rest of Tropang Angat in Naga City yesterday with my friends. It was already anticipated that around 300,000 individuals were going to attend the rally. Bicolanos from different provinces made an effort to attend that exceeded the expectations of the organizers. There were also individuals that are from Metro Manila.
We left the village at around 9 am to go to Naga City. Most of us were wearing pink and had hints of the color in our clothing. We were very anxious the night before the rally because we were worried that we would not have a ride going there because of the amount of people that are going to attend. But fortunately, a bus of kakampinks passed by us and they let us ride the bus with them. We ran fast going to the bus and laughed hard because we weren't expecting that they would let us ride with them.
The bus dropped us at the Robinson's Mall where they parked. We then rode a jeepney going to the centro and walked to the main stage. It was quite a walk and along our way, there were stalls on the side of the streets that were giving free lemonade and so we stopped by. We weren't really thirsty, we just wanted to drink. Hahahaha! A total kakampink experience!
There are still many photo ops areas that are available. We had a picture in the infantry division that supports Leni-Kiko. We hopped on the vehicle that is used in war zones. I don't know what they call it but you can just see it in the photo. Hahahaha. Anyways, there was a man there who took our photo. He is so welcoming!
We finally arrived at Magsaysay Avenue at around 11 am. There were already a lot of kakampinks that were present in the area. We didn't have a decent lunch because there were just so many people dining in and the restaurants could no longer accommodate us and so we had to eat at a burger shop.
We then head out to the main road where we are settling down. We tried going near the stage with some of our friends but we got left behind because of the huge crowd. It's something that we are thankful for because it's just too hot. Maybe if I was there, I could've collapsed and was given medical care.
My friends and I headed back to the Yellow Cab to meet with some of our friends and joined them. And there, we decided to just settle down in the middle. It was still too hot since we were on the roads. There were a lot of people that needed medical care. It was understable because of the heat. It's something that the people with weak bodies couldn't handle.
There were a lot of free foods and bottled water that were for free. So many kakampinks are sharing what they made and we're roaming around to distribute it. As I can remember, I had a cookie and two puto. It was pink! Cute!
The event was a blast. There were a lot of artists and local bands that were there to support the Tropang Angat. These are: Sharon Cuneta, Piolo Pascual, Ben & Ben, and many more. I can feel their sincerity in supporting the Leni-Kiko tandem. The meeting de avance ended at 10 pm but the party had just started. There were still performances after and some fireworks too! I just didn't want to take a lot of photos and I just really enjoyed the moment.
All in all, the rally attendees were estimated at 306,000. More than what is expected. If only the venue is big, then, there are still going to be a lot of attendees.
We were near the placards but we didn't know what it was. We only thought that it was a designated space for the medics to pass through.
Attending a rally for me is something that we should do especially if we are fighting for the future of our country. Choosing the right leaders is what we should encourage everyone to do. The future is in our hands. We have to elect someone who can serve us, not control us.
The future is female, and I believe that the next president is a woman. Leni Gerona Robredo is the next President of the Philippines. Kiko Pangilinan is the next Vice President of the Philippines. With all of the support, I am already claiming our victory!
It was a tiring day but the happiness and fulfillments in our hearts is something that we are going to remember forever. I am one of the 306,000 individuals who attended the rally and I am a Filipino who wants a better future for this country.
