While I thought about a topic to write about today, mind went to friendship.

For a lot of people, friends are like family members and in some cases, friends have even become family members

Friendships are made with people who share the same common interests and or values as you. Friends that are always there for you when you need them most are very rare to come by.

Friendship is a very strong bond and a there is a lot of science behind it. Because the friends you keep have a lot of influence in your life. They influence you indirectly and even unconsciously.

In simple words "the friends you keep the determine the person you will become." There is also a popular saying that says "You are the sum of your five closest friends."

Who is in your circle? Are you in theirs?

It is easy to call or regard someone as your friend, but do the same person regard you as their friend too?

It is not easy to have or keep friends and the older you become; the less friends you might tend to have because you have become wiser and many people you once regard as friends might not fit to be called so. Some people even live their entire lives not really knowing their true friends.

Friends are the one of the most important things that people can rarely do without. Because they are there to inspire, motivate, and keep you heading in the right direction. Well that's the duty of every good friend. Having a good friend is important because it helps us become better persons and it allows us to have fun.

Good and true friendships are hard to come by but when they are found they should always be cherished and never taken for granted.

The word "friend" has now become a loose term to call someone you know, but friend or friendship is far different from that, you might be acquainted to someone doesn't necessarily mean they are your friend.

Perhaps the social media as made the word "friend" so common, especially Facebook, where you add or accept someone's request to become their friend (lol).

Although friendship is quite changing, as I have seen people become friends over the internet despite being separated by hundreds or a thousands of Miles.

But who are your real friends?

They are people you can call and talk to when you are feeling down or to celebrate your accomplishments and successes.

They are people who will always have your back, who will remind you of your purpose, and who will be there for you no matter what. The one thing you should never do is take those friends for granted.

Importance of friendship

In a world where crime, distrust, betrayal, and pain fill our hearts with hate. Friendship reminds us that we are not alone in this world. Friends give us hope that there is still good left in this world.

In conclusion

When you get your first job, when you get a promotion at work, when you get engaged, or when you buy your first home - don't forget to acknowledge those that have been with you through thick and thin - they're the reason why you're at this milestone!

Here is a lesson I have learnt from my past that you should always remember how you treat people in your life, good or bad is what makes the difference

So make sure you surround yourself with people who are positive, who love you for who you are, and who want the best for you. Such kind of friends are worth keeping not just for today but forever.
