Comparison destroys Personality
I was humming to a song as my hands were roving on my Keyboard. I have typed over 280 words, only to notice that the battery of my device is close to dying and I might not be able to continue typing with it.
I was hoping I could reach 300 words then transfer the typed words to my phone. But unfortunately it went off in the process of doing so. All of this happen more than six hours ago.
I was hoping that the electricity supply would be restored and most likely my work would be saved by autosave. But till now the electric power hasn't been restored.
Well this affected my mood so badly, I really didn't feel like writing anything out again today. But on a second thought, I told myself; "this won't be a good way to start the beginning of a new month."
I really want to continue to my success in the previous month and even pass it (if possible).
So I shrugged of the feeling of laziness and anti-writing.
Comparison destroys Personality
I can across this picture you see above on Facebook. In the picture there are two pencils; one is a drawing pencil and the other is a colouring pencil.
The colouring pencil; "wished it was as sharp pointed as the drawing pencil", and the drawing pencil; "wished it was as colorful as the coloring pencil."
But the fact is that both of them are both unique in their own way and there is no need for comparison between them as they have different uses and purposes.
We are different and unique
What you see in the picture is what happens between humans; for we love to compare ourselves with one another. We should always remember that everyone is different and unique. We should stop this bad habits of comparing ourselves with another person.
There isn't anything bad in admiring and recognizing the success of another, but you have to realize that, we all have different talents and different methods of doing things.
Ditching your natural way of life to become someone else destroys your personality. 🧏
Parents and teachers often make this mistake
Having played the role of a teacher for sometime, I knew that all the pupils in a class have their weak points and strong points.
Trying to compare one pupil to another is absurdity and this might make one of the pupil feel useless.
For example there are some pupils that are very good when it comes to academics but weak in sporting activities and so it goes vice versa.
Parents often think that since their kids are siblings; they ought to behave the same way or start comparing them with one another. This is an extremely wrong ideology and even identical twins don't possess the same characters or quality.
In conclusion
Comparison is an enemy to progress and leads to nothing but to bitterness. Learn to appreciate yourself and remember that you're unique.
What works for Peter might not necessarily work for Paul.
Thank God my parents never compared any of their children to anybody, I seriously hate that sh*t. Comparison makes a person feel frustrated, I don't do it to people so I expect others not to do it to me, or we will have a big problem 😅
