Friday fun, let's have a competition
12th November 2021
Hello you magnificent readers. The weekend is here, well for some of us the weekend is here. As for me, my Friday will actually be Sunday as I will be working until Sunday night. It is all good though, as this means that on my days off, the shops will be less busy, the park will be less busy, and the restaurants will be less busy and infact actually have cheaper deals. So there is a win-win situation if you look for it.
Talking about winning, I am on day 12 of my November challenge. This challenge is to publish one article a day. When I had originally set it as a goal, I didn't really think I would be able to do it, as I used to have this as a goal and failed quite spectacularly. But when I renamed the goal to a challenge, then the competitive me took over and heck no, I won't let myself lose to me 😉 So I better be true to my word and keep this one a day streak up until the end of November.
Now this will be a bit of a freewrite ramble today, as I am not sure what thoughts will pop out of my head and find their way tumbling down into print for you to read.
It will be a surprise.
Don't you like surprises?
Well good ones, of course, we all love those good surprises, don't we!
Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat!
Talking of Christmas, when do you cook and eat your big Christmas meal? Do you have it on Christmas Eve, on Christmas day, or the day after, perhaps it might even be on the sixth of January?
Here in the UK, Christmas lunch on Christmas day and with a turkey 🦃 and all the trimmings is the traditional meal and time and then it was tradition to watch the Queen's speech.
What do you eat for your Christmas meal?
As you may know, I have been lucky with a couple of giveaways recently and with Christmas coming up rapidly, I have decided that I will have some of contest, or some sort of competition or some sort of challenge.
Obviously with this being a writing platform, it will have to involve some kind of writing.
What would you like as a Christmas competition?
Obviously, I appreciate the fact that we have many religions here in read.cash so not everyone celebrates Christmas. However, I want to make the challenge/contest in such a way that it will be an all-inclusive competition so that everyone can enter if they so wish. And of course, I will start saving for some prize money. I am not sure when it will start and end but it will be soon. So my awesome readers get your thinking caps on.
Let me know in the comments 👇👇 what you would like to see!
Have you put any Christmas decorations up yet, any trees or lights etc. I haven't although I have started to write some Christmas cards so that I can send them abroad so that they can get there in time for Christmas.
I have seen all these posts about Shopee and their 11/11 sale and all the orders that some of you have submitted. We don't have that, the next big sales here are for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which are just after the American Thanksgiving which is the fourth Thursday in November. It seems we copy all the American commercialism now for selling goods from retailers.
It used to be that in the UK that the two big sales of the year were on Boxing Day (26th December) and New Years Day. People used to queue up overnight outside stores to grab bargains, but now the rise in online shopping has not made these such big events. I remember you used to see them covered on the news and people being interviewed to see how many days they had been in a queue for! Crazy people.
Well that's all me for today, sometimes it is good to be short but sweet🤣
I had to put the swanbombing picture in again today, it really made me chuckle!
