Happy weekend to all you awesome and wonderful readers. I hope you are having an awesome day. We had rain on Friday and also overnight. However, on Saturday morning over my second coffee, the rain stopped and the sun came out briefly.
So, I decided to have a little walk.
I packed up the animal food and toddled off to the park.
However, I discovered there was some fun run going on in the Park and they were running or more accurately most of them were walking past the lake. I could not see the swans, and only saw a few ducks, none of which were Dafty, all that was there were seagulls, seagulls and more seagulls. They really are a nuisance and have been known to attack people, so I refused to feed them, and went off in search of Sammy the squirrel.
Could not find him either or Velma the vole for that matter.
So I had my piece in the park.
As you can see it was a cheese sandwich which I had made in a hurry, but look at the leaves, summer is over na and autumn is on its way. The wildflowers are turning to weeds, unfortunately.
I did have an awesome surprise as I fed the tree to the right with some birdfood and guess who showed up? I also fed the tree behind me with birdfood.
It was Molly and Martin the magpies! They had a great time and were singing away. The next thing I turned round and saw another cousin of Sammy, I called him Stuart.
If you look you can see the birdseed amongst the leaves, it has nuts in it, so the squirrels got mad for it.
I left him alone and decided to go a different trail in the woods.
We are slap bang in the middle of mushroom season, so I went exploring to see what I could find!
The colours are so vivid and the lighting is just perfect, if you know me then you know I am not of fan of editing and filters, so all these pictures are raw, unedited and straight from my phone camera.
These are awesome pictures, and whilst I thought it was a hideout of the naughty witch and her friends, some think it is a Smurf village. Either way, they are great pictures.
This was a different route in the woods I took and it is close to a burn (what we call a large stream in Scotland) and so was damp as you can see with all the moss on the trees and logs, hence all the different types of mushrooms growing.
It was also beside a little set of waterfalls, which were soothing with the water cascading down.
I took loads of different mushroom pictures and I won't bore you with anymore of them here. I am also sure I did find one edible type, I will do more research to see if it is what I thought it was, but I didn't pick any!
My favourite fruit is a raspberry, I didn't find any but I did find some blackberries which I duly picked.
Now do you remember the title of this article?
Do you think I am cuckoo?
Cuckoo means mad, a little bit crazy, which of course I am, but the reason I added it is here in the picture below.
Do you know what that plant is? I had no idea, so had to check google lens and found out that it is Cuckoo-pint or Arum maculatum also called lords-and-ladies and it is a tuberous herb, but the red berries are very toxic. So of course I did not touch it.
I kept on exploring and then made my way home a wee while later and had an afternoon nap after watching the famous mighty Rangers win at football!
It is really amazing what is on your doorstep, if you just take the time to look at things you would not normally look at, you are sure to learn something new every day.
This was my yesterday and is also my entry to writing prompt number 12, which is Fruits of Labor.

Do you remember I mentioned I picked blackberries?
Well the picture at the end was my dinner as a reward I had them on some cereal and milk and bananas.
