One step closer to their dreams….
Good evening everyone, I’m so happy that I’m feeling better now. By the way, how are you guys? May you all spend your weekends so well with your loved ones! Enjoy and keep safe everyone!
Thank you my dear sponsors, and readers who are supporting me all throughout. God bless you all!
First of all, I just want to congratulate all the graduates for the school year 2022-2023!
Being a teacher for almost 6 years, when I hear the word GRADUATES/GRADUATION there’s a feeling inside of me that makes me feel happy and proud for all the learners. It makes me feel so excited for everyone because another chapter of their lives has already opened for more challenges, bigger responsibilities, and a lot of opportunities to their lives, but also because they achieve another milestone in their lives.
For all the parents. I know that they feel a lot of mixed emotions for all their children who succeed and accomplished their most awaited graduation. And being a graduate proves that their sacrifices of them are not wasted in vain.
That’s what my Aeta learners feel about their graduation. They may not say it in words but I can feel it and see it through their eyes. Being graduates at Elementary Level is already a great achievement for them. Why?
Because of the way of their living, which I have already mentioned in my past articles, there are a lot of factors that they are not capable of. They are also considered the poorest of the poor because of their lack to many access to life.
There are studies where there are parents of these Aeta learners who did not attend school because of poverty. There are some who do not give much importance to having a formal education because their primary concern is on their basic needs which is food. So there are parents of these Aeta learners who are considered as “Illiterate”, no read, and no write to be exact. So these are just some factors why there are still several Aeta children who gave up their education already.
But I’m so glad that there are still Aeta parents who are willing to give their children a proper education. During our monitoring when I asked my learner’s mother “Bakit gusto mong bigyan ng magnadang edukasyon ang inyong anak?” (Why do you want to give your child a proper education?) And she answered: Para hindi sila matulad sa amin na hindi marunong magbasa, magsulat at magbilang. Ayaw naming na maranasan nila yung diskriminasyon na nararanasan namin dahil hindi kami marunong at hindi kami nakapagtapos. (For them not to be like us who cannto read, write and count. We don’t like them to experience the discrimination of others just because we are not educated).
And these make my heart cry, I can feel the pain inside of her while saying all those words. So my heart falls for them more and more. This is the reason why I don’t want to leave my workplace, I don’t want to leave them because I know that my heart always belongs to them.
So last Tuesday, my Aeta learners are one step closer to their dreams, because finally, they graduated! That despite all the struggles, and all hardships, they still succeeded to reach their dreams!
I can see their proud parents crying and you can hear their countless thank you to us because we made their dreams possible, that even if they are living in remote areas, they experienced graduation and for them, it is so impossible to achieve!
Congratulations to my ever-loving and sweet learners, you are one step closer to your dreams, may you continue to grow and make things possible for your dreams! We are all rooting for you, and may you always make your parents proud.
To all graduates from all over the world, congratulations, again and again, another chapter of your journey begins, good luck and God bless you all!
Woooow congratulations sa lahat ng grduates. Praying that they will all get what they desire.
