School never taught me these things.
“If you are willing to be a self-learner, you will develop yourself.”
Ever since I started school, up to this moment when I graduated, school has never taught me some things about life. Many of us rely on the school to teach us things about life — how to navigate life and the world and what to do to acquire knowledge from those areas. We believe school should teach and provide us with life's principles on how to control and manage our lives, but we are only deceiving ourselves if we think schools would teach us all these things I would be mentioning which I have observed.
How to handle bullies
Have you been taught how to handle or stay away from bullies while in school? Or is there a full course surrounding such an act? There is not!
In schools, many people have encountered bullying for the first time in their lives and it's unfortunate that in other places, this situation isn't handled correctly. Children might be left to face these bullies time and time again and they get punished if ever they respond.
One would be kind to give a piece of advice that you should ignore it when it shows up but that doesn't work all the time. We might learn to bear it or have to face it while we are left alone to face such trauma but we would never be taught how to handle it effectively by our lecturers or professors.
Bullies don't stop when we leave school. Even in social settings like work, among friends, colleagues etc, it happens to people and it's important to handle it with grace, set boundaries, withdraw from it, and most importantly, work on ourselves. When we work on ourselves and our insecurities, developing genuine self-confidence, we would be able to guard against bullies.
Finances
Schools don't teach us how to manage our finances, and the rudiments related to this topic. However, finances are important in our daily lives. How to manage our finances, control what we buy, stay afloat, how to save and invest our money etc. They won't teach all of these but we are required to learn them ourselves to better our lives and future.
This is why learning is important to us. When we learn topics related to finances on our own, we would be able to get better at making financial decisions, avoid staying in debt, solve our crises when it comes to money, and much more. What should we learn on how to manage our finances? We can start from the basis that is, keeping and managing our budget which can help us to understand how much comes in (income) and how we spend it.
Having a monthly budget will save us from impulsive buying and help us spend available money. Just like the app I introduced sometime back, it has been helping me keep track of my income and the way I spend my money and at the end of the month, I feel lucky to come across such an app to help me budget effectively and efficiently.
Savings is also useful and important and we have to find ways to incorporate them into our lives. Just as I always say, when you save today, it saves you tomorrow and one mantra that has stuck with me today is that 10% of what I earn is mine to keep.
Dealing with failure
Schools deal with failure and they avoid it at all costs, and often they don't help us recognize how mistakes are important for our overall progress. They make us learn how to avoid failure, but not cope with them. In life, it is important to learn how to accept failure as a valid option and embrace or focus on the lessons it brings.
What would we do differently next time? What should we learn or take out from such a situation? This is why failure isn't the end but a way to see things differently while we learn from our mistakes.
Socializing and Networking
A school will, or can only give us the theoretical knowledge we need to grow professionally but it does not give us the practical support we need to make it work out. How do we do a cover letter? How do we get through a job interview? How do you network? Some, if not all schools only provide outdated advice or there would not be any advice at all, so we have to be open to learning how to fly ourselves.
Let me stop here and give room for comments. I would like to learn from us too. What are the things school didn't teach you but you are finding your ways of learning today?
Thanks for your time.

Schools didn't teach us how to handle life and a lot of things. I told people that schools only give us the ability to think so we can handle issues but never taught us about how to handle real life issues.
