What's Worse?

I can't help but have a dig at the government of my country and only when you live here can you fully understand the extent of the things the citizens are going through. Of course, there are good sides to being a Nigerian and I would always appreciate that but it has nothing to do with our government because if they could decide that they would have found a way to manipulate us all right from birth.

So many things are wrong with this country and it's exhausting. It's mentally torturing too when you think about it and the sad thing is, they are not moved by our words, actions or inactions because they won't be bothered anyway. They will do what they have in mind to do and they don't care whose ox is gored. We are all pawns in the grand scheme of things and they would gladly sacrifice us just to protect themselves.

When they implement any rule or law, it would be foolish for anyone to think it was in the best interest of the citizens. It has everything to do with what they would gain from it. When we went into lockdown, it was because most countries were going into it and they knew by going into it they would have access to funds from international communities who wants to nick Corona Virus in the bud. Which country wants to go into lockdown and doesn't make adequate preparation for its citizens? Which country would receive help and palliative from International communities and not release those palliatives to the citizens? Welcome to Nigeria and that's 1% of the things we go through.

The way they rule is to keep us impoverished so they can dominate us. When we are at their mercy it is easy for them to throw money into our faces that will make us do whatever they want us to do for their agenda. Are you surprised they banned crypto trading in Nigeria? Those who banned it own portfolio full of cryptos and we got shreds of evidence of how they also use VPN to operate the Twitter they banned. Isn't this terrible and wickedness with a total disregard for consequences?

The funny thing is, they know that we know but they know there is nothing we can do about it because they have the armour, resources, means and the people to suppress us. Speaking about suppression, last year, October 20th, we had a group of people who went to protest peacefully but because the protest gathered a lot of recognition from international communities they felt threatened and when it was late at night, around 7 pm they opened fire on those who sat down, waving the Nigerian flag and singing the National Anthem.

From the reports gathered, they went away with some of the bodies so they can get rid of evidence while many were badly injured and till today we don't know who gave the order and the sitting governor was feigning ignorance. Isn't that lack of competence when something is done in your state and you are claiming you knew nothing about it? Isn't that a sign that he was there just as a figurehead when he couldn't even determine what goes on in his state? We have puppets as leaders and it's a shame because we are always left with choosing between lesser evils.

A year after the event and the death of peaceful protesters, there was nothing heard again. The committee that was set up to look into the matter hasn't given any report and in fact, our lying minister of information said there were no records of casualty or death and it was all a false alarm. The minister of works and power put on a show last year too when he claimed he saw a camcorder that was strategically placed by them (obviously - because that place had been swept and cleaned already) and magically, he found a camcorder and till date they didn't release the content of their planned camcorder. How is the camcorder even supposed to pick up anything when they turned off the security lights before opening fire on innocent protesters?

A year after, as a reminder and remembrance to those who lost their lives that day, there was another peaceful walk on 20th October but as usual, the government deployed Policemen to harass passerby. I have never seen a government so scared of hearing what ails the citizens. They said we are operating Democracy but this is a demonstration of craziness because we are operating an indirect dictatorship being run by old people who are supposed to stay back at home in retirement. Nigeria has become a joke to everyone.

What's worse, being a Nigerian or being cursed with these leaders? They have been cursed with a chronic desire to irritate us and they are doing it to perfection. I know most governments have one or two things they are battling with all over the world and we all have our stories and what I have seen of this country, only when something drastic happens before we can be hopeful again. I jokingly mentioned on a friend's page today that I want three wishes:

  • 1. Invisible power

  • 2. Teleporting power

  • 3. Healing power.

I want to be invisible while I inflict injuries on these so-called leaders and my teleporting ability will make me do this with perfection. My healing power would come in handy to help the masses that have been oppressed, injured or bruised so they can dream again while watching me punish their oppressors. Oh well, it's good to dream and I wish I have access to these powers hahaha.

Kindly follow me on Noise.Cash... I am trying to engage more with people and connect with everyone with this account. I look forward to seeing you there... You can say hello to me there so we can get familiarized as well. Click here.

Thank you for your time.

Most governments are corrupt. And it is valid throughout the globe. Only some countries saw tech and business more. The common people are living the same life.

Gone are the good leaders who are patriotic and aims for the welfare of their countrymen. Today, anywhere in the globe many wanted to be a leader for their personal interest, to be powerful and wealthy and avenge their enemies. Conscience are no longer in the mind and heart of politicians it is obsolete and obscured found in the books.

I think what makes it hurt being a Nigerian is because of the useless leaders we have, so I will say the worse thing is being cursed with these leaders. Things would have been better if we have a very good leader that implements strong policies that will help better the nation.

Sometimes I also wish I have super powers but I only need teleportation; so I can put Nigerians out of their misery by taking out this evil government, starting with the oga at the top 🀧

Hahahaha the oga at the top that is always on vacation while his country is in turmoil. That's true, what makes it worse being a Nigerian is bad leaders. Things would have been better if we have those who have the interest of the country at heart even if it's by 15%. It's that bad.

And I feel things might not be good for a while even when a good government comes in because a lot of damage have been done and it will take a long time before we can recover from it

Yes, they have wrecked most of the things. They obviously want to make it difficult for any good government to hit the ground running so they won't look utterly bad.

I normally do tell people to just face the fact that they're Nigerians and join hands to make sure the country gets better, but with the recent happenings and negative vibes we're getting in the country, I won't loose any opportunity to travel out cause I don't see Nigeria getting better even in the next 20years except if God intervene.

Here in the Philippines politician want to win the election year to take vengeance on their rivalry and to make money for themselves, not to help people and the country.

Some things are present here too maybe dressing as sheep but a total wolf. What I mean is some leaders here in my country as well I believe don't really care for the welfare of the citizen. They may put like they are but in the deepest of it all the greed intention is hidden. I don't say all of them but mostly.

It's so sad ! We had terrible people at the top of governments.I wish you are granted those three things but so impossible,we outrightly need a devine intervention to overcome those so called beasts misadministrating our beloved countries affairs.

I sincerely wish so too but the only thing we can hope on is for God to intervene any way and any how. This oppression is too much.

Its sad that the government is supposed to make the nation more better and peaceful but they did the opposite. Seems like they run not to serve the nation but to have power and money. In having that they can control the people around them. How unlucky we are, we are just normal citizens who have nothing but voices to speak but they are deaf with our plea. Instead of hearing us, they do the opposite, and much worse they are doing some evil acts that could hurt the innocent ones.

Those wishes you have are amazing but those are impossible to have, but there's one thing we can do. Pray to God, He Is all we need in times like this

Happy Sunday sir

Very well said... We only have our voice... To speak to their senses and to pray. Our hope only hangs on God because these people are not ready to listen to us at all and they don't care. It's sad and disheartening.

Happy Sunday and thank you for this wonderful comment. Good to have you here.

Our leaders are making the country hell for us, we in not in a military regime where people are not allowed to voice out their feelings.

We in democratic system and yet we are being deprived of our rights, we being deprived of the freedoms of expression, if you talk you're in trouble because they will always look for one way to end you life , imagine those monster that called themselves our leaders.

The wasted the life of innocent people last year just because they are fighting for their rights, when will all these brutality end? And after everything they claim they know nothing about the massacre, what a bleak ! Injury wish they will be their families are involved in this thing , maybe their children are part of the victim so that they will also feel the pain the inflict on people, but reverse is the case. They will sent their children and families abroad and leave us to wallow in pain by dancing to their tunes.

During the time of pandemic, they just want us to go into lockdown without providing for the citizens needs. We should go into lock-down with hunger, some people even died because of hunger not covid. That's to show how worse our country be just because we don't have good leader that are capable to take are of it's citizens.

And the worse part if we also fail to vote for them, they bad government will still continue and and we still vote them in , we still face the same problems, Everything seems like an unending suffering

You got the point. It looks like an unending cycle and even with Fela, he would call them out as we have people calling them out now, still they won't listen because they have built themselves not to respect anyone.

As I read your article, I feel your grief. The same here with us they will announce a lockdown but there is no proper help for the people. Those who have lost their jobs are even more miserable. So in my heart in the coming election I need to really be wise in choosing a new leader. Same as you be wise in choosing your new leader in the future for the betterment of your country.

Seriously, I sit down and imagine having a supernatural power to bring these bad leaders down and punish them. It's so painful that they don't want the young ones to rule or have the taste of being a leader and they are there ruining everything and not minding the masses at all. They are too old mehn They need to be impeached from that throne and allow the young ones to rule and see the difference.
