I can't help but have a dig at the government of my country and only when you live here can you fully understand the extent of the things the citizens are going through. Of course, there are good sides to being a Nigerian and I would always appreciate that but it has nothing to do with our government because if they could decide that they would have found a way to manipulate us all right from birth.
So many things are wrong with this country and it's exhausting. It's mentally torturing too when you think about it and the sad thing is, they are not moved by our words, actions or inactions because they won't be bothered anyway. They will do what they have in mind to do and they don't care whose ox is gored. We are all pawns in the grand scheme of things and they would gladly sacrifice us just to protect themselves.
When they implement any rule or law, it would be foolish for anyone to think it was in the best interest of the citizens. It has everything to do with what they would gain from it. When we went into lockdown, it was because most countries were going into it and they knew by going into it they would have access to funds from international communities who wants to nick Corona Virus in the bud. Which country wants to go into lockdown and doesn't make adequate preparation for its citizens? Which country would receive help and palliative from International communities and not release those palliatives to the citizens? Welcome to Nigeria and that's 1% of the things we go through.
The way they rule is to keep us impoverished so they can dominate us. When we are at their mercy it is easy for them to throw money into our faces that will make us do whatever they want us to do for their agenda. Are you surprised they banned crypto trading in Nigeria? Those who banned it own portfolio full of cryptos and we got shreds of evidence of how they also use VPN to operate the Twitter they banned. Isn't this terrible and wickedness with a total disregard for consequences?
The funny thing is, they know that we know but they know there is nothing we can do about it because they have the armour, resources, means and the people to suppress us. Speaking about suppression, last year, October 20th, we had a group of people who went to protest peacefully but because the protest gathered a lot of recognition from international communities they felt threatened and when it was late at night, around 7 pm they opened fire on those who sat down, waving the Nigerian flag and singing the National Anthem.
From the reports gathered, they went away with some of the bodies so they can get rid of evidence while many were badly injured and till today we don't know who gave the order and the sitting governor was feigning ignorance. Isn't that lack of competence when something is done in your state and you are claiming you knew nothing about it? Isn't that a sign that he was there just as a figurehead when he couldn't even determine what goes on in his state? We have puppets as leaders and it's a shame because we are always left with choosing between lesser evils.
A year after the event and the death of peaceful protesters, there was nothing heard again. The committee that was set up to look into the matter hasn't given any report and in fact, our lying minister of information said there were no records of casualty or death and it was all a false alarm. The minister of works and power put on a show last year too when he claimed he saw a camcorder that was strategically placed by them (obviously - because that place had been swept and cleaned already) and magically, he found a camcorder and till date they didn't release the content of their planned camcorder. How is the camcorder even supposed to pick up anything when they turned off the security lights before opening fire on innocent protesters?
A year after, as a reminder and remembrance to those who lost their lives that day, there was another peaceful walk on 20th October but as usual, the government deployed Policemen to harass passerby. I have never seen a government so scared of hearing what ails the citizens. They said we are operating Democracy but this is a demonstration of craziness because we are operating an indirect dictatorship being run by old people who are supposed to stay back at home in retirement. Nigeria has become a joke to everyone.
What's worse, being a Nigerian or being cursed with these leaders? They have been cursed with a chronic desire to irritate us and they are doing it to perfection. I know most governments have one or two things they are battling with all over the world and we all have our stories and what I have seen of this country, only when something drastic happens before we can be hopeful again. I jokingly mentioned on a friend's page today that I want three wishes:
1. Invisible power
2. Teleporting power
3. Healing power.
I want to be invisible while I inflict injuries on these so-called leaders and my teleporting ability will make me do this with perfection. My healing power would come in handy to help the masses that have been oppressed, injured or bruised so they can dream again while watching me punish their oppressors. Oh well, it's good to dream and I wish I have access to these powers hahaha.

Most governments are corrupt. And it is valid throughout the globe. Only some countries saw tech and business more. The common people are living the same life.
