Day: 7th, December 2021
Eighteen days to go before we celebrate Christmas, and I am grateful for everything this year, especially since I am still alive.
Some people did not survive this year, not because you are better than them, but because that is God's will for you, so please don't take your life for granted and waste it.
2021 is coming to a close, and I think it is usually during December I start recollecting all the events and actions that I did this year.
I find myself asking questions like,
"What would have happened if I did it like this."
"I wish I had done this, instead of being afraid."
"Maybe if I go back to my past, then I would have done things better."
These sort of questions go on and on in my mind like a never-ending spiral of thoughts, and soon I find myself thinking of ways to go back to the past and change things.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to rewind time and change things.
I am sure I am not the only one with these thoughts in their mind, and sometimes it is so hard to erase them because that is how regret works.
I wouldn't say I like having these sorts of thoughts, so I checked how to stop it.
I read in a book that to stop having these sorts of thoughts, we should always live without regrets.
But what does it genuinely mean to live without regrets? Does it mean I should do everything my mind tells me to do? If I had done everything my mind wants, I am sure I would have died a long time ago.
Living without regret doesn't mean doing everything your mind wants you to do; it means doing what would make you happy, even if the world is against you.
It could be pursuing a career you always wanted to study, proposing to your fiancee, or telling your crush how you feel.
You should always try to do what you want the most because you will regret not doing that sooner or later if you don't.
Many people live their lives wishing they had followed what they truly loved instead of running away from it because they felt it wouldn't work out.
I have said this before, but fear, failure, and criticism hold us back the most, and the moment we learn to control them, we will be able to live the life we want.
What is it you want to do the most?
What did you fail to do this year, and you don't want to fail next year?
It would never be too late to do what you want; the only thing restricting you is yourself.
It may not work out, you may even fail at what you want to do, but the essential factor is you did your best to chase what you wanted, and that is better than regretting it in the future.
Back in high school, we always did a sports festival, and even though I had been in the school since I was a kid, I never once participated in the sports festival.
But during my final year, I finally made up my mind to participate because I didn't want to regret never participating.
When I signed up to participate, I didn't think I would win, but I knew I would have fun doing it.
Every day I woke up by 5 am to jog around the neighborhood and build up my stamina, and I thought it was working.
The day of the race came, and I already knew I had lost because I was running with seniors😂 But even still, I knew running away from that would only leave me with regrets.
To my surprise, I passed two seniors, and it was remaining one, but alas, 12 days of jogging couldn't replace all the laziness I already had in my body.
I eventually fell and collapsed an inch before the finish line😂and the others jumped over me.
I felt terrible there, but I felt like I had accomplished something I couldn't do before.
It was the most incredible feeling ever, that feeling you get when you do something you wanted to do instead of running away from it.
I may never forget that feeling because I didn't let fear, criticism, or failure hold me back; I know I accomplished something even if I failed.
Never be afraid to do what you want to do; even if you fail, you can always stand back up; failure is not the end of the world; it is only the beginning of your success.
Living your life without regrets doesn't guarantee you won't regret some things, but at least you would do what you want.
Thank you for reading!🥰
Oikawa, I get a positive message from your article. Engaging in some sports is immensely important for a healthy life. We will live with our inner immunity as long as we wish. The inbuilt immune system of every animal, including humans, is more vital than any external medicinal and artificial immunity. The longer we eat healthy and balanced food and follow a regular exercise habit every day, no external germs can defeat us.
