Appics Tutorial: Navigation
Lately, I had been spending a lot of time with Appics. This is like Instagram where users can share photos and video clips and get rewarded with crypto APX. I started using it on the 27th of December and so I had officially celebrated my first month on the app. Actually, I was not very active until a certain day when the Philippines Ambassador @fycee had encouraged us to be active and then apply to become a junior ambassador. I like Appics a lot because I can monetize my photos, I have a lot of photographs sitting on my hard drives. I'd love to also share some video clips soon but videos are just taking longer to upload and they can somehow change the grid of my profile but let's see in the future.

Today's article could be a little redundant because some information has been mentioned already on the above two articles but what I wanted to share here is for newbies to get familiar with the interface of the application.
Anything new requires a learning curve and so my aim is to shorten that learning curve, that when you open the app, you will remember what I had shared here and so it would be easier for you to navigate and eventually, enjoy the app!
Also note that this tutorial assumes you already have signed up and created your wallet, check the link above if you haven't.
As soon as you launch the Appics app, it displays the posts coming from those whom you have followed, remember you were given suggestions when you signed up. Now, let's dissect the sections on this screen.
Profile
Your profile screen includes the following:
your follower count
the number of the people whom you follow
your estimated earning in USD
description
your posts in grid like in Instagram
Notice that I mentioned estimated because the earnings here changes too according to the market value, you can check coingecko for APX's value if needed. As for the earning section, you can even tap on it to display for information such as your available liquid APX, the voting power, and the delegations and more.
On this page, you can also update your profile settings by tapping on the three dots above your earning number. This will display the following:
your telos wallet address
edit profile section
tokenswap (only applicable to those who had used the app on 2020)
support
privacy policy
terms of use
version
logout
Earning
In this section, you can see your liquid APX, this is the withdraw-able amount of APX. Delegations are those APX being lent to you, they are only there for a certain amount of time. There are also transactions included here like if someone sends you liquid APX, when you receive your earnings, those which you had sent to others, and more. All transactions are listed here.
Also, you can power up or power down in this section. Powering up means staking more liquid APX while powering down means you want to bring the amount back to liquid which can be withdrawn. Powering down is not instant compared to power up. It takes 10 weeks, so each week, a portion of the Appics power goes back to the liquid APX until the value is completed.
In this section, you can also delegate and even send APX. If you are new, someone might have lent you some voting power, the user who did that can set the number of days and the amount of APX, you got to take advantage of that.
Notifications
It is pretty straight forward, this includes all the things that had happened to your account like if someone follows you, someone leaves a comment on your posts, if someone sends delegations and liquid APX, everything is in here. You can even see if someone unfollows you! Yes, that's possible too!
Search
The magnifying glass displays the discover section. This is where you can search for:
people / users
hashtag/s
More importantly, you can discover trending, hot, and new contents here.
*Tip: In the hot and trending section, you can comment on the posts and you might get upvotes from the whales!
Create a Post
If you are new, you will be prompted to create a Telos wallet upon creating your first content. Make sure to keep a copy of your keys!
You can create a photo or a video clip post, add filter, and you have to add in details such as:
description
tags
category
What's cool is that there's no limit in adding in the description. You can only add four tags though and that's okay, you don't want to overcrowd that. Make sure to select the right category too, which is very essential before you can post the image.
Notice that we can also edit our posts! Even tags can be edited. To do so, you can just tap on the three dots on your post and select the edit option!
How to Upvote and Comment
New users have zero voting power so, upvoting a content returns error. Don't worry if you encounter that, soon, you'll have enough Appics Voting power. Notice, you can continue to post and interact even without voting power. Comment sensible things on users' contents and you'll never know, someone might upvote your comment!
To upvote, you just tap on the upvote button, that triangle with a circle icon on each content and slide right the slider for the specific percentage you wanted to give to the user then swipe up to upvote, or swipe down to cancel.
To leave a comment, just simple tap on the comment section, type and hit send!
