A Plan for Her Special Day—The Mother’s Day
I didn’t realize that Mother’s Day will be coming soon on our calendars—if, without my friend’s notice about that matter, I might forget it completely and just be shocked that mother’s day has eventually passed. Hence, I am planning to give something special to my mother on that day. Just like me, she is also not fond of material things—or should I say, she is not a materialistic person, and times she requests things she wants is once in a blue moon to happen; most of the time, the thing she requests was still for the family and not for herself. That’s how I describe my mother in spending money.
To be honest, every Mother’s Day, I really want to have a gift for my mother because I treasure that special day of them. Since when I was a child, I remember, I always picked up some flowers in our school every Mother’s Day because our teachers let us have some flowers in our garden so that we have something to give our parents, that’s how they tolerate us to love our parents and appreciate them. I always partner the flowers with handwritten letters or drawing before, but the wind changed its direction as my journey in high school started. Due to the lack of money and the urge of having printed modules to pay before, I always ask for an extra allowance and even though she always gives me an extra allowance, I still have no money left out from me at the end of the day because of the fare for every ride. The cycle goes around every day until I used to it. It’s not that hard actually, I can still eat my snacks normally, but my goal to accumulate for some things or events I want to spend at was always going to nothing because of those barriers. Hence, since I can’t give her the things I want her to have, I give her kisses and hugs instead and it makes her still happy at the end of the day. That’s how simple my mother was. She might be the most dramatic person you could ever meet for every special event and even in everyday life, but she is the best person for me.
This upcoming Mother’s Day, since I have money now in my pocket, I will give her the things I know she will be happier with—food and bonding with us. I believe in those things, we could spend our time together eating and have some chit-chats that I don’t usually do with them because I am always in my room. I will buy her the food she missed so much and ask them indirectly through my style of asking her. I still don’t know what things I would buy on that day because I am still accumulating for this thing to make happen but I am sure, whatever, how many, how much, or how big or small the thing I will present to her on that day, I won’t fail myself to have her smile—that’s is my goal to see and have on that day.
She is not just a mother to us, she is also our father since our father left us. She might be the loudest one when one of her kids is missing from her eyes, yet she is still the softest when she sees us happy doing the things that make us happy and living. A simple appreciation for a wonderful superhero of my life. Let us see what would I buy with the money I will accumulate until that special day. For now, I will focus on more important things like appreciating her every day and striving for my dreams. Dreams and plans are already on my hand, the must-thing to do is to work for them and make them happen.
