In the work industry, there are multiple ways to get the job that we've been aiming to get if we have the guts and determination to do everything just to get the position that we want. We are willing to lend a huge amount of money for the needs of the requirements of the company that we're applying to. And we know that it really needs a huge amount of money to meet the requirements, such as medical certificates, NBI clearances, and many more. After completing all the required requirements needed for a normal employee, we needed to pass all the requirements all by ourselves to the office and, of course, wait for a couple of days for the confirmation call. You will be lucky if they truly call you on that particular day, but if you haven't received any calls for a couple of months already, then you don't have to expect that they will accept you because they won't.
Lucky are those people who have a backer working on the company that they're applying to. Especially if their backer has a higher rank than a regular employee, it'll be expected that they will already be accepted without the need for an interview.
So, what actually is this "backer" thingy? And why does it sound so superior in terms of job-seeking?
A backer is a certain someone that is working for a particular organization or company that will be the one to pull the strings and open the opportunities for someone that wants a job with their company. They are the ones who help and support those people, commonly their friends or relatives, to get the job position that they're applying for.
What are the advantages of having a 'Backer'?
If you have a relative or you know someone working for that company, then consider yourself lucky and safe, for there is a possibility that you will be accepted for the job position. Backers aren't just normal employees working in a company; they could also be someone working in a government or a government official that you know that might help you get the job that you desire. The benefits of having a backer are that you are almost certain that you will be accepted, especially if your backer is a government official or a "Kapitan." Having a backer beside you could also make your application process even faster than you expect since it will be processed directly.
But, what are the disadvantages of not having a backer?
People who don't have a backer are mostly just ordinary people in the community. To be honest, here in the Philippines, no matter what your degree is or what your achievements are, when it comes to the job you're applying for, there's still a fifty-fifty chance that you will be accepted if you don't have a backer. Even if you graduated Cumlaude, you won't get the position that suits you. You might be accepted, but you will be placed in a lower position.
My teacher once told us the story of his friend. His friend was a manager at a certain car branch for over five years. When the owner of the company passed the throne to his son, my teacher's friend was then kicked out by the new owner, which is the son. The only reason why he was kicked out was that the new owner wanted his friend to be the new manager. His friend was just an associate graduate for two years, while he, has a degree and graduated Cumlaude. He lost the job that he'd been working at for five years with just a single snap.
People who don't have a backer are mostly bullied and treated unfairly. Compared to a regular employee.
That's how fvckd up and unfair the system is. Even until now.
You can call yourself lucky if the company that you're applying for has the most overwhelming environment and a very charming group of people.

Experience ko po sa pag aapply sa goverment. Kahit ipasa mo interview at exam with flying colors hindi ka makakalusot kapag ang kasabay mo ay may backer. Especially sa Agriculture sector DA, iisang pisa lang sila
