Read this to learn from my experience. Yesterday, I went to the supermarket with the prudence dictated by the new normal. Mask, alcohol and safety distance. I then started to get the things that were on my list, and when I was lining up to pay, between taking the money and storing the phone, the PHP1000 bill I had to pay fell on the floor, and the man who was in front of me finishing paying his purchases slowly bent down and picked up my money. Woww.. How much education and kindness in these pandemic times - I thought. I held out my hand, waiting for him to give me back my money, trying to stay away, so that he would feel safe, while preparing to thank him for the gesture. But suddenly, what he told me was shocking - What's on the floor belongs to whoever finds it! - and just like that, he left ... naturally, as if he hadn't done anything wrong. I looked at the lady behind me and the people next to me and they all looked at me in shock and disbelief, whispering things between them. For a moment there, I was trying to evaluate myself. I wanted to do justice on my own ... I left my purchases, because I had no way to pay, and went after him to the parking lot, to have my 1000 pesos returned. However, I realized that the people closest to the line came after me, curious to know what was going to happen ... I spoke to him demanding my money but he just looked at me with contempt and acted like I was invisible. When he got to the car, he slowly put his two shopping bags on the floor to take the key out of his pocket and open the trunk, and I thought - It's now or never! I took the two bags and told him the same thing he had said to me - What is on the floor belongs to those who find it! - and I started running towards the exit, between fright and laughter, proud of my revenge. The spectators started to applaud and I saw that the “smart guy” had been irritated after all, as he left the parking lot dropping security cones in his path. I swear I felt a rush of adrenaline, fright and nervousness, but then I cried with laughter. When I got home I opened the bags and found: - 2 kg tiger prawns - 1 kg of salmon fillet - jamon Iberico, brie and camembert - sourdough bread - 1 bottle of Sauvignon Blanc - 2 large packs of Lavazza coffee beans - 2 jars of organic honey - 2 kg of very good quality guanciale - 1 bottle of avocado oil I had never made so many purchases with only PHP1000. And now here I am ... Having a glass of wine, eating and thinking as I write - am I a vigilante or a vindictive person? HAVE YOU READ THIS UNTIL HERE? This obviously did not happen to me. When you see the word in a sentence, you form a background on the word, making it easier to guess its synonym or antonym. Every time you come across a new word, you must look it up in the dictionary. Make sentences of your own once you encounter a new word. Break the word into its roots. Maintain a diary or notebook to keep a record of the new word you encounter. Learn words of a similar category for better understanding. Substitute the options to the word; then choose the option that makes sense. Synonyms and Antonyms The use of **context clues** in vocabulary types of tests particularly with synonyms and antonyms is essential. **Context clues** are hints found within a sentence, paragraph, or passage that a reader can use to understand the meanings of new or unfamiliar words.            A **synonym** is a word or phrase that means the same (or very nearly the same) as another word or phrase. Words that are synonyms are described as synonymous.            An **antonym** is a word that has contrasting, or the opposite, meaning. **Synonym/Definition/Description Clues** The mountain pass was a TORTUOUS road, **winding** and **twisting** like a snake around the trees of the mountainside. Flooded with spotlights – **the focus of all attention** – the new Miss Philippines began her year-long reign. She was the CYNOSURE of all eyes for the rest of the evening. His EMACIATION, that is, his **skeleton-like appearance** was frightening to see. The DUDEEN – a **short-stemmed clay pipe** – is found in Irish folk tales. **Example Clues** PISCATORIAL creatures, such as **flounder, salmon, and trout**, live in the coldest parts of the ocean. In the course of man’s evolution, certain organs have ATROPHIED. The Reason Beyond God has given us the freedom to choose, which makes us humans different from his other creatures. He has given us the chance to decide and yet the first man and woman chose to disobey; thus, the purpose of the tree might be to create not only the existence of what we see but also of what we have that only our hearts could feel- trust, obedience, respect, and so the values want God us to embody. Yet, I know, these are not enough to justify when someone asked our faith in a doubt; thus, I have to believe that there are reasons behind every existence and even those that we cannot explain fully, that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, His ways are not always our ways; for His wisdom is as above the stars, as deeper than the oceans, and as wider than the universe where we are only a single dot. Hence, any person who has a great influence, before we ask and doubt, we must be mindful that our rational thinking has its limit, that our logic cannot reason out God’s reason; unless one day, He will come to tell us plainly the reason beyond.
