After reading the article on this link https://read.cash/@Jim/synonyms-and-antonyms-c1b02d5d about synonyms and antonyms, let us now go to some tips in answering tests or exams along these topics.

Tips:

  1. Improve your vocabulary through reading. When you see the word in a sentence, you form a background on the word, making it easier to guess its synonym or antonym.

  1. Every time you come across a new word, you must look it up in the dictionary.

  2. Make sentences of your own once you encounter a new word.

  3. Break the word into its roots.

  4. Maintain a diary or notebook to keep a record of the new word you encounter.

  5. Learn words of a similar category for better understanding.

  6. Substitute the options to the word; then choose the option that makes sense.

  7. Take note of the word class (Parts of Speech) of the vocabulary word.

  8. Keep an eye to confusing words especially with homonyms and homophones.

  9. Take note of positively and negatively charged answer choices.

  10. Eliminate answer choices that have no clear antonym.

  11. Eliminate answer choices that are close synonyms.

After this, I will be publishing a practice test.
