The rich get richer and the poor -poorer
The rich keep on getting richer and the poor poorer. The worst part is that the poor do help in making the rich richer. So many people believe the rich are satisfied with what they have, they need nothing because they have all. Though “all” is subjective but in most cases what people mean by “all” is that they already have enough money and have no reason to aspire for more the way a poor man or an average man would. Contrary to this, the rich are the ones with the biggest thirst for wealth, more money. Daily they seek ways to be richer, they try to take from the poor and add to theirs and try to limit the liability they have.
The poor on the other hand, keep the liability close to their heart and enrich the rich even more. A typical example is the recent culture Nigerians are cultivating. There’s a reality TV show that is aired annually in the country- called Big brother Naija. I was once one of the show’s greatest critics for some reasons which I still believe in, but I’m a little less vocal about my dislikes about the programme since it was one of the things that helped so many people (including me) during the lockdown in 2020. I was always tweeting about the show, supporting my favourite housemate. It was even one of the reasons why someone introduce noisecash to me. The show gives the housemates/Participants a lot of exposure and a fan base. The fan base can be toxic and loyal- which brings me to the poor making the rich richer issue.
It’s now common practice for these celebrities and reality TV starts to receive gifts of Cars and houses on their birthdays. The poor fans contribute money among themselves to buy something for their rich celebrity. So ironic!.
While the rich focus on things that will increase their wealth, the poor channel their energy on something not worth giving attention to. Even when they get a little money, they use it in intimidating or mocking others instead of thinking of how to make the money grow bigger. I can remember Kan saying on Club1BCH group once and I quote “Any Idiot can be rich… someone can win a lottery or a casino, but staying wealthy is the problem”. Simply put-as humans the chances of being rich is higher than the chances of remaining rich.
After seeing what the fans of another celeb did recently (bought a car for her) I started thinking about the gap between the rich and poor. Also, what does it mean to be rich or to be poor? I realized it’s all about mentality. Some people are not destined to be poor but have a poor man’s mentality which makes them remain poor. While the rich have a rich way of thinking, which helps them in growing bigger in all endeavours.
In conclusion, there is a popular saying “The poor buy things they don’t need to impress the people they don’t like”. Live and spend with moderation. Don’t make impressing others with your wealth your goal. There’s nothing to gain in making others feel inferior. Do you have $500 with you? Instead of grabbing the next $500 flashy cloth on the hanger, draft out a plan on how to increase the $500. stick to the plan with time you will be able to afford two of those flashy clothes. But guess what? By then, you will see that the Flashy cloth isn’t what you need because working for your money also helps in changing one’s mentality about something. That isn’t to say you will have to deny yourself things you need in life- No, it only helps you in creating a scale of preference and sieving out the things you don’t need. See you at the Top guys!!!

The problem is that if you both give the poor and rich some money, the rich will use it to find their business or make investments because their needs are already covered as they are rich. Whereas, the poor will use the money to buy their necessities as they don't have the funds to buy them.
