To what extent can you go to achieve something. I was having a conversation with a friend earlier who is into real estate. She talked about how people are doing anything to get clients, what sales reps are doing to persuade people and all. We came to the conclusion that what differentiates everyone is the extra they are ready to do. Everyone knows the shortcut to get things done, cunny ways of deceiving people and illegal ways of doing things but not everyone is willing to do these things.
The recent weeks have seen a lot of events in the country. When we think we’ve seen the worst something else pops up that leaves everyone surprised. Parents are now scared and careful about how they treat their children, afraid of being blamed for their kids' misdeeds and the kids are walking on glasses at home, careful and trying to be of good behaviour. But this can only last for a little period before things go back to normal.
So many people are willing to step on anyone on their way to success, they don’t mind the toes they step on just to get what they want. Corruption is something that eats up so many of us, and it's getting to the point where most of us are tired of dealing with it. The more you persevere on how bad the situation is getting, the more you begin to realize you can't do anything about it. In a society that we are accustomed to seeing every day, we see young men and women who have dreams and aspirations; we see them or them being corrupted by those who are above them; by those who have the power to pull their strings. Where their gifted minds are now being controlled by drugs and alcohol.
Whenever you see someone ascending faster than you in your career, you might feel like a failure for not being able to keep up. This can be especially true in a creative fields like music, writing, film and even in crypto.
For as long as I knew, from friends and feedback from others, it has been said that some are selling or doing the unthinkable. They go to extents just to make money to party, to buy a phone, or any gadgets. Normally these things are usually acquired through corrupt means. But why is this happening? Is it easy to get money from it? Are we not creating a situation that's going to cause a lot of problems in our society? It's not easy to stand out in this present day, but over the years young people have started to find new hobbies and ways of earning money which is not horrible but also not good at the same time.
This is just a question that's been going on throughout the years. If one will go to school, make friends, and learn how to earn money legitimately, one will eventually be set for life. Young ones are now into cryptocurrency, programming, blockchain and many other fields.
I believe education can help in defeating this menace in society. Though many see education as a way of securing a job with good pay, it’s actually more than that. It opens one’s mind to many options and equips one to take on life challenges. I find it hard to believe this same sector is where the Government isn’t paying much attention to. However, it’s still possible to still stand out in the present day, there are a lot of examples of youths making a difference, and you can also be one. It's best to go through the right path in life than be part of a corrupted society.
I'm here to tell you that there is still hope for our youth, as long as you believe in yourselves and stay on your path. There are options for you to avoid corruption, and find motivation.
