There is always something special about Sunday services. This contagious feeling in the air that you can just resist getting on board with. And guess what makes this Sunday extra special "Argentina and Lionel messi" finally lay their hands on a Title after many years. And this all but confirms his 7th Balon d'or.

It's not an easy feat. This was their 4th final in 7 years. I led a prayer session for them on Noisecash and as at the time I'm typing this- the match is still 2 hours away. So this is a prophetic article. 🤣

I'm sure i won't have any reason to delete this draft by the grace of God. This brings the idea to me - today's Topic "Faith". I'm sure you're wondering which type of person brings football and then faith together?. Or you are asking "If sport is like that then the other day i prayed that my club or country to win the Cricket/football/basketball final, why didn't they?"

Just ignore the part where i talked about the football and go with me on this journey. I will be talking about Faith as i mentioned earlier, so i need you to read every line.

What is faith?

The earliest definition i have of Faith is-

"Faith is believing that God's word is true"

This was the definition given to us back when i was in the Children department. I held on to this definition until i later got to know about Hebrews 11:1-

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Kvj

The moment you stop hoping then you have no faith. The day you take the decision that you no longer desire or wish for something good then you are as good as Dead. For what is the purpose of living when you don't have the aspiration for better days ahead.

After series of disappointment from my Uncle i decided to go by a rule or let me call it a watchword. Which is "Never budget on a promise". I lost faith in man , and went about my daily businesses with no expectation from any man. This affected my relationship with God. Because afyer praying to him i still leave his presence with Doubt. Little did i know that God isn't man to say he will do and not do. He takes his word even above his name.

He showed my mercy and taught me to trust in him. To leave everything into his hands. For nothing his impossible to me only if i will trust him and have faith in him.

Enemies of Faith

1. Doubt

One of the major enemies of faith is Doubt. When you doubt God's promises you start looking for alternatives or short cut. After praying to God, do you still go about looking for ways to help yourself?. Do you set up a plan "B" in case God doesn't do what you ask for?

As a student do you pray to God for help in your exam , but at the same time you start formulating how to cheat in the exam hall or how to pay your way through?. That isn't faith. When you put your trust in God, it has to be in him alone. He doesn't like to share his glory with anyone. So when you go to him, put your trust in him alone.

1. Faith without work

Faith without work is Death. You say you have faith in God to help you with your Examinations. But when others are reading you are busy playing or doing irrelevant things. You get to the exam hall and expect your Pen to do the work while your brain rest. No! It doesn't work like that. When God wants to bless you, he bless the work of your hands.

When Jesus wanted to feed the multitudes, he asked if they have anything with them. Thank God for the boy who was with Two fishes and Five loaves of bread. Or remember the case of the Widow who gave out her last meal to the prophet. The prophet asked if she had anything at home and she said she had Oil. You know the rest of the story.

When God wantvto bless ypu , what do you have with you?. You didn't read anything before the exam and expect God to bless an empty head. Zero with the power of hundred is still zero (0¹⁰⁰ =0)

Or are you praying for financial help while you sleep at home all day without working? . Better be careful how you pray. Because if God is to bless the work of your hands, he will bless your sleeping habit to the extent that you will sleep more than before since that is your work.

1. Sins

Sin destroys a lot of things. It can stop God's blessing for one. The devil is always looking for an excuse to give to stop God's blessing from getting to us. When your sin, you are not helping yourself. You're only delaying what you ought to get from your maker.

Guess what! God does not hate sinners. In fact he loves them and welcome with open hands those ready to go back to him with an humble heart. He sent his only Son to this earth just because of you and i. So why not run him?

Have Faith in God!.
