Bitcoincash Unilag Meet up

It was a wonderful feeling yesterday when the students of the University of Lagos gathered all because of bitcoincash. It was a day we all have been anticipating for long, but a few days to the event, so many came up. First, the venue chosen was changed due to the high cost the owner was charging (The festive period added to it).

Also, the school hasn’t resumed fully and there’s still a dark cloud harbouring around- the lecturers are still threatening the government with a strike. All these made the meetup look impossible and so many students went home. Which affected the number of students present greatly.

Postponing the event came to mind, but the support of Mr @nurain and the bitcoincash Nigeria group kept us going.

The programme started at exactly 1 pm WAT and members of noisecash and readcash community were present. The balcony of the main auditorium was used for the programme. After the opening prayer, the event of the day was tackled straight away

-On-boarding more people to bitcoincash

The main goal of having a gathering like this is to get more people into SmartBCH. Our country Nigeria is ranked in the top 5 of major statistic charts on highest cryptocurrency users. Despite the government ban on banks accepting cryptocurrency, the usage of cryptocurrency keeps soaring in the country. This is an advantage for us, introducing bitcoincash to our fellow students won’t sound like something strange.

There are various tools we can use for the propagation of bitcoincash in the school

Noisecash:

This is one of the biggest bitcoincash On-boarding platforms. I and most of the members present got to know about bitcoincash through this great platform. Introducing it to our fellow students shouldn’t be something hard. But our work doesn’t end there, the onus is on us to put them through the dos and don’ts of the site. Everyone present was charged to invite at least 5 users to the platform before the next meet up by January. Apart from the reward the site gives, whosoever has the best result will be rewarded.

Readcash:

This is another tool for bringing more people to bitcoincash, though it requires more work than noisecash. Those present were also charged to try to share their experience so far and write about it from time to time.

SmartBCH:

It was great to see that everyone present is involved in SmartBCH, though we all have various favourite tokens and some have “favourites”. It was decided that this will be a better tool to invite experience crypto traders who are into defi. The cheap transaction fee, fast network, different dex(s) with different offers makes SmartBCH a better option than others. The opportunities SmartBCH offers is immensely great.

Videos and graphics:

One of the things Mr Nurain discussed in the last webinar hosted by bitcoincash Nigeria was the use of Creative videos, graphics, podcasts and articles in the promotion of Bitcoincash. Hence the creation of the “Explore BCH” YouTube channel and readcash community which is solely for bitcoincash contents. In the coming weeks expect more from the students here on this platform.

General talks

Everyone was allowed to pitch what they are selling or what they are into while refreshment was served to all present. @Greatwolfman was given some duties which will be discussed in the coming days.
