Silent Enemies
By: Hanhan
Jesus says, "love your enemies". This is one of the hardest things to do. How can we love people who keep hurting us? How can we forgive them if they always repeatedly do their mistakes? For us, we stopped loving and forgiving people if we badly get worst.
The apostles were even became Jesus' enemies. Judas betrayed him. Peter lied Him three times. Thomas doubted His resurrection. Some of them were gone and flew away when Jesus sentenced to death. They were afraid also to be killed. But what happened after the resurrection of Jesus? Because His love, He never confronted them for their faults and mistakes. He never regret for what they were doing. He still showed His mercy, love and compassion to them. It is God who taught us by example of the importance of loving and forgiving to the people who hurt us, who betrayed us, who lied us and who flew away in times of our sadness that we need them to comfort us, to be with us and even to heal our pains and sufferings.
One apostle asked Jesus if how many times we forgive our brethren? Jesus replied, not only seven times but seventy time seven. Mathematically, seventy times seven is equal to four hundred ninety. Does this mean that we need to make a record or tally in a paper to write down if how many times did our brethren commit mistakes or sins to us? God doesn't want us to calculate the product of seventy times seven because He does not want us also to count the mistakes of others. If His time is not the same of our time, then his counting is different also from what our teachers taught us when we were in elementary. If that what we think that we forgive only people seventy time seven, then for God, it is limitless.
Enemies are everywhere. All of us have enemies right? We can't avoid these people because they are present everywhere. We have enemies in our workplace. It could be our boss or other office mates. Some are in the church. We hate our priest or pastors, the servers or the leaders and other religious people for some reasons. Others could be met in the place where we live. We hate people on the politics and even our Above all, our loved ones could be our enemies too.
What comes to our minds when we talk about enemy is a person that personally hurts and even ruins our lives. But wait... Not only people are our enemies. The enemies I am referring to are somehow very important for our daily lives. In the absence of these, it seems like we stop breathing, we cease dreaming and we pause communicating.
Actually, it is beyond of our control to lose power supply and poor internet connection. Like for instance, after a typhoon that hits in a certain area or our place itself, we can expectedly experience a loss of electricity and internet connection. This made us angry when no immediate actions are taken. Some people were posting about this kind of issues on different social media. Many will react through comments but only few of them don't understand the whole scenario or even the situation itself as long as they could express their feelings and emotions.
But the fact is we don't want to go out from our comfort zones. We want an easy life. We don't want these two, poor signal and no electricity will be absent or totally gone in our place and in our lives. Without them, we will suffer of its effect. We will encounter lot of advantages and disadvantages if these two will be absent or gone.
Advantages
Less expenses
Less radiation
Detachment from any gadgets
No internet addiction
No cyber crime
Less pollution
Less destruction
Disadvantages
Shutdown of all gadgets
Difficult to communicate or miscommunication
People may not work easier and faster
Less information like current issues
No water (using water pump)
I would become hypocrite if I would say that I don't need these too. But let me clear this one to you. I also encountered without electricity and even internet connection during the time when typhoon Odette landed on our place. I survived even without them. I am still alive without them. Meaning, our lives would be okay even if it is not okay.
Lot of things will be affected in the absence of these two. Our lives would not be easy. However, we need to be patient of waiting them to come back. Stop blaming other people. Nobody wants all these things to happen. It's also a great loss to the electric and internet or network companies. It's not actually the power supply and internet connection are our enemies. It is me. It is you. And it is us who are the enemies of ourselves.
