Unraveling the mystery behind the missing jewelry.

The owner of the jewelry was informed about what was going on, she happens to be a wealthy person in the society. Fred was arrested but later released since the police were working on the case already. During Fred's interrogation section, he made it clear that only Olumide and the driver knows about the package aside from him.

The driver had been threatened but his answer remained the same, he said he knew nothing about it. Weeks passed, and pressure was on Fred to provide the jewelry, Olumide absence halted the investigation. They tried hacking into Olumide's call log to see who he contacted last and every effort reached a dead end, the investigator in charge of the case was fed up.

Five weeks after, Olumide was wandering on the road with bondage and the police spies alerted them immediately, he was apprehended. Fred was called and they asked Olumide where he went, and why his phone was found on the warehouse premises and he kept saying he doesn't remember anything.

"That's a lie", Fred told the police that Olumide was only pretending. He wasn't helping the investigation and was charged to court alongside the driver. The court insisted on further investigation and the officer had to continue digging.

A medical checkup on Olumide shows that he has temporary amnesia, they just have to follow the process. A few days later, Olumide escaped from the hospital and that strengthened the police's assumption about him. Fred was angry the police took things lightly with Olumide, he vowed to break his legs when he sees him again.

Olumide seems to have been done with the amnesia phase, he knew was in danger judging by the security presence around him. He wasn't sure about the flashes he was having but he remembered jumping through a fence and falling on his head but what happened after wasn't clear. He went into hiding and he was declared wanted after 24hrs for murder and theft.

"I didn't do this", Olumide said as he was pacing around at his grandmother's residence. "I was there I broke the first door, I broke the second door as well".

He heard a Police siren outside while thinking, he peeped through the window and wanted to escape through the back door but he was caught again. He was taken to the station and they weren't willing to hear his side of the story again, Fred came to the police and nearly got in a fight with Olumide despite being handcuffed. The driver was released on bail and would come over if needed at the station.

He was locked up ahead of the court sitting for three days, he was trying to remember what happened before he jumped the fence when one of the officers asked him for the jewelry he stole.

His response was sharp, "I didn't do it". The officer laughed at him as he hit him with a plank, "you think we are fools, better help yourself and save us the stress of putting you in jail".

He insisted that he knew nothing so they ignored him and attended to other cases. The driver was supposed to report to the station for the court hearing but he didn't show up, he was called severally but his lines weren't going through.

He sent a text to Mr. Fred who facilitated his bail since Olumide has been caught. In the text, he wrote "My boss, I am deeply sorry I have to betray the trust you have in me. I left town last night, I should leave to start a new life somewhere else.

Fred told the police he had been played, the driver looked innocent. Could he have stolen the jewelry? He kept asking questions and the police blamed him as they were approaching the court, you will be held responsible if we don't find him.

The court hearing started, and Olumide was asked a series of questions and he answered based on what he could recall. The judge mentioned that his phone was found in the warehouse after the incident, and asked how did it get there?

"Did the phone drop while I was trying to jump the fence?" He said to himself, it was then he remembered the whole thing.

He continued, "My lord, I was at the warehouse to steal the jewelry really but I didn't steal it", everyone murmured but the order was restored.

"I broke the doors but then I saw light coming in my direction. I saw the security officer approaching the warehouse, I knew there was trouble so I hid somewhere. I saw a figure tiptoeing, so I started recording a video. The figure struck the security man with an object, went in, and carried some things out of the warehouse.

"When the person left, I decided to jump through the fence back but everything just went blank"
.

"Why did you break the doors when you have the keys?" The judge asked and he replied that, "I didn't want to draw attention to me or Fred so he didn't use keys, I loosed the door locks instead.

The judge asked for the phone and the police provided it, he unlocked it and played the video. It wasn't very bright and he was asked who he thought it could be.

"I don't know your honor but only three of us knew about the package, it is not Fred but I can't vouch for the driver.

"Where is the driver?" The judge asked and they explained how Fred facilitated his release.

Fred was summoned and asked if he was an accomplice with the driver but he denied claiming that why would he do such to a company he has spent his life building. The judge requested that the video be played again for Fred to see if he could identify if it was the driver but this time the video had been uploaded to a device that is used by the FBI to brighten images or videos made with little lighting.

The video was played and Fred was shocked, the intruder backed the camera all through except when he was coming out. He was the same person that hit the security with a plank but the face wasn't very clear, Olumide was telling the officer beside him that the figure looked like Fred but he was silenced.

One of the investigators captured the face while the intruder was coming out, they ran a check on the blurry face, probably they could be lucky to get a match with the little light on the face. Fred fainted while it was running, the court process was disrupted and he was rushed by the police to the nearest hospital.

It took over 30 minutes before the check was completed, they had to upload the image to another different image enhancing tool and when the result came out, it was Fred. The police were informed and he was handcuffed to the hospital bed, he woke up after 2hrs to find handcuffed and a fully armed officer standing by the bedside.

"What is this?", he asked. "Your secret has been exposed, you are a criminal", the officer answered him.

His eyes were filled with regret, he asked the police if he could help him escape so they can split the jewelry money worth $300k. The police played along just to have evidence, Fred didn't know that there was a camera in the room.

He was charged to court and was found guilty of theft and murder, he was sent to life imprisonment while Olumide gave a light sentence for attempting to steal. The driver got the news and returned, he said, I was scared due to the failed security system that has punished innocent people for a crime they never committed.

The jewelry was retrieved from where it was kept and Fred had to live behind bars for the rest of his life, he regretted not being patient enough. He wanted to clear his bank loan and take his business to the next level, he lived in the pain of going through the wrong way.

Wow, so it was fred and he claimed to be innocent all through. Assuming he knew there was a video coverage, he would have run for his dear life. God will always put the evil ones into shame.

Theres no easy way of escaping from our loans, we should be responsible in everything, and Fred got his reward for being dishonest

The people we think we know very well might be the ones we don't even know at all, like the way Olumide was first saying that it wasn't Fred but only to find out that it was him that stole it all along.

i read the previous one and this ending is very satisfying. how twisted the mind of fred to do that. blaming others for his sake.

Proper investigation and thorough handling of case is very good, not to go and take an innocent as the culprit

Imagine , even the person I suspected was innocent, fred just spoil the business he has been building for so long, but why did he have to do that? Everyone is looking for a short cut to be successful , they don't want to patient, forgetting that short cut will land them into trouble...

The life of crime is never a way out indeed. I'm glad that the innocent was not convicted instead of the real culprit. It was a close one if you ask me..

The real criminal could have gone scotfree if the case wasn't handled properly, I am glad he was caught as well.
