And I don't mean to generalise when I say this but am so tired of seeing nurses being treated like shit. I've been thinking about the recent spate of abuse, neglect and inhuman treatment of our nurses who work tirelessly to give us quality healthcare. It's not enough that they work hard but they are also on call 24/7, when we are sick and even when we are in an emergency, they are the first people we see.
I often wonder why our nurses are not being cared for properly. It's so painful when I see the way our nurses are being treated. Just because they are not doctors does not mean they have no brains or that they are unimportant in their field. I decided to write this post because of what I saw on my brother status this morning, he posted a picture and on the picture was written about how nurses are being treated and it caught my attention cos I don't like the way people talk to them anyhow.
As everyone knows pretty well, Nurses are the ones who deal with every patient without discrimination, they deal with all kinds of people regardless of their colour, height, weight, nationality, ethnicity, class or any other physical characteristic that pertains to a person's appearance. They are some of the hardest working people in our country.
The issue of nurses being short-changed is worrying and needs to be addressed.
It’s not about the money but rather the fact that nurses are not been taken care of. It’s like they are undervalued and that hurts their morale and health.
We should all be worried about this because when nurses are not taken care of, it directly affects the patients.
I am shouting out to all stakeholders in the health sector to start caring for our nurses. Nurses are some of the most undervalued professionals in the whole country, and it’s grossly unfair when you consider the roles they perform. As a country, we can only improve, grow, and flourish if we all work together. We know that the current nursing shortage has been caused by factors like poor remuneration, poor quality training, and insufficient support. This can be changed by ensuring that these issues are given due attention. We’ve seen how the government has worked closely with health care workers and other professions in other countries like China to ensure that nursing is a profession that people want to go into. If we care for our nurses, they will care for us.
I'm going to be very honest with you all today. This is from my heart. I'm tired, tired of seeing our nurses getting disrespected and ignored.
It's so painful when I see the way our nurses are being treated in hospitals because they know that their nursing is a calling and not just a job, but when they see the way they are being treated they start to leave our hospitals.
"Majority of the nurses are leaving because they cannot take the stress, when you can't even eat your lunch on time because you are busy taking care of patients, when they lay on stretchers you don't have time to go to the toilet before feeding them, and also because of salary with overtime, it's not enough to survive in Kenya, Nigeria and some other countries." While some doctors have been complaining about low salaries, Nurses are also complaining about how their mistreatments in the hospitals.
I know it's hard to change the system because we have archaic management and politicians but I say to Nurses take a stand and make sure your voice is heard that's why we elected you so that you can get your voice heard. Nurses have always been a vital part of health care, helping to save lives, while also assisting and comforting patients. Yet in too many cases, nurses have not been respected or provided with the care they need.
One study found that nearly 1 in every 4 nurses had experienced a non-physical violent attack at work—including verbal abuse, threats, and being spat on. no respect, no help, no pay...for real...doctors and nurses are human beings too. Every workday they go to work early in the morning and they stay long after sunset. If a nurse has a day off, she's worried about the patients in the hospital. Nurses should be cared for.
Nurses are the people who need special care and attention. The work they do is really tough. They left their families to give service to the patients. They are always there in the hospitals, in the ICU, in the ER and other places that every other medical professional will avoid. They also try their best to comfort the patients who are suffering from pain or any other physical or emotional problem.
They deserve to rest in peace after their duty is done for the day. But unfortunately, many of them are not resting at all. Their salaries are small and they have to work double shifts on top of that. They work overtime for free just because they want everybody to be well taken care of.
Nurses are some of the most caring, compassionate people you will ever meet. Regardless of their busy day, they’ll always have a smile on their face and time to stop and chat with you. However, how they are treated in return is appalling. It’s so painful when I see the way our nurses are being treated, the way they’re put down, and the treatment they’re receiving from the government.
It is sad to see the way nurses are being treated today. We are so used to sending our thanks to doctors and nurses in a hospital but it seems like they are the ones being handcuffed. Nurses are the ones who keep us alive, yet they are the ones demonized.
We should be recognizing them for their role in our survival, embrace them with love and respect as they do us a lot in our lives. I don't know if this is just my caption or does it reflect on their feeling too.

Nurses should be respected, flex and love. I mean after all nurses was there to assist or either do it in their own. Nurses is a hero as well.
