Rest is sweet In this world of hustling and bustling, some people see rest as a waste of time. But God who created the human body knows what is best for it. He commands everybody to rest after working. He wants you to cease from all forms of labour in order to get some rest and be refreshed. Rest is not only beneficial to the health and comforting to the body but also beneficial to the soul. God Himself rested after the work of creation and made rest an obligation for all humans because it is good. Work and rest are like two sides of a coin. Resting is as important as working. You work before resting and rest after working. You don't need to overwork yourself to show that you are working. But you can't claim to be resting when you have not done any work. When there is a proper balance of work and rest, you will enjoy the fruits of your labour. Some people are workaholics. They literally work everyday of the year without taking time to rest or go on vacation. They feel the urge of being busy all the time to the point that they often perform tasks that are not required or necessary. Workaholic is a negative behavioural pattern that injures your health, social life and soul. Workaholics often suffer sleep deprivation which results in impaired brain and other stress related illness. They also neglect their family. Rest helps your body to recover or heal faster from the damage caused by stress. It puts you in a good frame of mind. It facilitates better and healthier eating habits. Rest rejuvenates your body and mind, regulates your mood, helps you to enjoy life more. It reduces the risk of having heart and kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. So, make out time to rest because it is sweet and satisfying. But remember that *rest can be sweet only after you have toiled.* There is great gain in legitimate and honest industry. It is a good remedy against poverty. It gives meaning and satisfaction to life. This year, make up your mind to work with appropriate rest. May your rest be sweet😍 I show my appreciation💖 to @FashTioluwa , @Lucifan and @remona for the sponsorship. I'm very grateful💝. God will grant all your heart desires. ***Thanks for reading again*** ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Strength zone Good day friends. Happy last Thursday of the month of January. I believe you are having a great day. Just recently, I had the privilege of being in a hospital. I wasn't sick. I followed a neighbor, Tim, to visit his friend, Robert. Robert was rushed to the hospital from his Primary Place of Assignment. He was very diligent and hardworking. He was greatly admired by the people he worked with. He slept with a girl and had an attack although the girl volunteered herself. He began to cough and vomit blood as he was dressing up after the act. The lady's scream alerted other people at the place and they all rushed there. He would have died if not for the timely prayers of sympathizers. Some other people visited him at the hospital. His parents were contacted and one of his family members travelled over. He lamented over his wayward life and shared his story with us. He was from a well to do family. His parents brought him up in the way of the Lord. Four years back, in the university of Lagos, he used to be a good Christian. He was a choir master in the campus fellowship. Peers' and friends' influence made him lose focus. He became attached to materialism and lust. He tried to stand but fell. He fought the violent tide but it finally submerged him. He tried for a long time but he gave up. He was fighting with his strength and not with God's strength. Tim tried to console him when he began to cry bitterly. He brought out an uprooted plant and told Robert that he would come for it in four days time. Robert said it would be dried before then. 'Why?' Tim asked. Robert said because the plant was already detached from its roots. Tim said Robert had been detached from his root. And that was why he could not rise when he fell. He had been disconnected from his strength zone which is the word of God. No matter how far he might have gone, God's loving hands can still reach him. We prayed with him before we left. Some Youth corpers think that service year is to catch fun and enjoy their lives. Some think it is a time to catch fishes. It is more than that. Just because they are far away from family, friends and people who know them, they begin to live a wayward life. Don't end up fooling yourself. Live with the consciousness that even though people may not see you, God does. Stay connected with your strength zone and don't be disconnected. *Thanks for reading.* ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Whose fault is his death? Romeo was a hardened criminal. He was a terror to his community and neighbouring states. He had killed so many people. He raped many of his female victims. He even stabbed his immediate sister over a little argument while they were slaughtering a goat. He was so heartless and wicked. He was very terrible. He never feared anyone. The security agents made franctical efforts to arrest him but the reverse was usually the case. He arrested the security agents instead. He could not be caught. He had many ways of escape. He didn't belong to any gang. He was all alone. Nobody wanted to associate with him. Who would want to be associated with a criminal? Parents in the neighborhood would strictly warn their children never to go out of the house for fear of Romeo. Romeo once burgled a rich man's house. He had a way of breaking into people's houses without them noticing. The family was asleep. He woke everyone up and demanded that all the money the rich man had should be brought out. Meanwhile, this man had two daughters. His first daughter was in part three in a private university while the second had just gotten admission in another private institution. Their fees and other necessary things had just been paid for before this incidence , and were just resuscitating from the huge amount spent on the two daughters. They didn't have more than twenty thousand naira cash with them at the moment. Romeo got angry and killed both the man and his wife and stole one of the daughter's plague. He left with the money he was able to get from them. The last straw that broke the camel's back was when he raped the daughter of one honourable. He was tracked and eventually caught. He was arrested and kept in the innermost part of the prison with tight security. Everyone that knew Romeo was happy to hear the latest news about him. Some of his victims even jumped for joy that their enemy would finally be killed. He could not get any lawyer to defend him. Who would risk his profession to defend a notorious criminal? A lawyer decided to defend him. His colleagues even persuaded him not to try it. He travelled from the capital state to meet with Romeo. On his way, he had an accident. He was seriously wounded. Two days to the trial, he begged the doctor to discharge him. He continued his journey. He met with Romeo and narrated how he heard about him and his intentions of defending him in court. Romeo despised him and said he does not need any lawyer to defend him. The lawyer said he was not collecting any money from him but Romeo shouted at him. The lawyer left with disappointment after all the sacrifice. If Romeo is sentenced to death, whose fault is it? The same way Jesus is willing to defend human on the judgement day. He sacrificed his life on the cross at Calvary. Accept him as your friend today and don't be like Romeo. Thanks for reading 💖 ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

You are right Everyone wants to be right. Beginning with students who want to get answers, doctors who want to treat, to engineers. As we go through life, we see people who don't behave the way we think is right. They behave the way it is right to them. If you are right, remain right. Don't be ashamed. You are not alone. As you stand alone to be right, you are standing like Joseph to be a prime minister. You are standing like the apostles who stood to obey God rather than men. You are standing like the three Hebrews who stood in the face of a fiery burning furnace got godliness. Being morally right is not popular. It has divine approval. You have a divine protection, divine connection and divine favour. Get it right with God, stay right with God. Hold on confidently. You will stand before kings. Don't be a coward. Develop the courage to cope under; Peer pressure Personal perception Powerful personalities Pervasive solutions Present pandemic Prophetic performance No matter the evil vision that anyone might have seen for this year, Elijah survived the time of drought. You too will survive. It's our time of achievement. This year 2022, you should have a right ATTITUDE Appreciation Thankfulness Togetherness Interest Tolerance Understanding Devotion Excitement Actions for breakthrough Animate don't annul Cultivate don't complain Intensify don't interfere Occupy don't oscillate Navigate don't negate Sit up, stand out don't sulk In times of adversities, accept because you can't change it. In troubles, think through. In inconveniences, ignore. In threats, tame your tongue. Disregard discouragement. Be peaceful and courageous. This is your time to shine. Nobody can intimidate you. You will rise to the top. Don't forget God is the most right. Go to Him for anything you don't get right. Thanks for reading 😍 ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

The regrets of pursuit of money and materialism Hi everyone. It's the dawn of a new day, 9th of January. May the Lord cause His countenance to shine upon everyone. As we go about our various activities, there is something very important we must not forget. Do you want to know? Please sit back and find out from this story. Tayo was a very a very rich man. His main source of income was farming. He was a great farmer. Despite the weather, God made his farm to yeild a bountiful harvest. He was so happy. He employed some people to do the harvest for him. Then he began to think about everything he had. He said "I am going to build a very large barn where I will store all my farm produce. I will build a very big house. I will buy the latest car in town. I will wear the latest shoes and clothes. I will relax my body from all the work of the farm. I will eat and drink." He did not think about anyway to help his community. He did not think about helping the orphans and the poor. He did not think about God who gave him the riches. He did not think about improving the world around him. He thought about himself, for himself, by himself, around himself. He did not think about educating others. He did not think about how he would lift up the fallen. He did not think about how he would put laughter in the mouth of others. Everything was just for himself. He didn't think about other people who were insecure. He said he would take his ease and be merry. Then God called him that day and said, " you fool, tonight you will die." God that blessed him, who made his work to prosper called him a fool. He was rich, yet foolish. He was a successful man yet a fool. He was a goal getter yet, a fool. When God Almighty calls someone a fool, then that person is a really a fool. Who is a fool? A fool is a person in life who does not think about why God made him, why God gave him a good brain, why God gave him success. You cannot sleep on two beds at the same time. You cannot live in two houses at the same time. You cannot enjoy two different meals together at the same time. You are given that extra so that your life can benefit other people. " Who will own all these things you have provided? " Anyone that lays up treasure not for the community, not for the nation, not for the upliftment of other people, who doesn't want to spend on other people, who says " I want it to reach a million, ten million, a hundred million". The father is sick and yet he says " I don't want to touch that money" the family is suffering and people are begging for help and yet he says " I want to be a millionaire" That riches is not towards God. Those who are keeping riches for themselves alone have the following regrets; Success without salvation Satisfaction without sonship Substance without spirituality Stature without the Savior Whatever we gather in life, whatever the stature we reach, we should always remember to have Jesus, the lover of our soul as our savior. Skill without shelter In our pursuit, improvement and achievement of skills, we shouldn't forget shelter for our soul. Self sufficiency without service That rich farmer said he would build another house, build another barn but was not ready to build other people. Have impact on other people. Sensuality without sensibleness Some drink and eat without thinking of where it will lead them eternally. Are you able to serve others with what you have? When people come to you to help them or teach them, do it joyfully. How are you acquiring your wealth now so that you will not be a fool? What will be your profit if you gain the whole world and lose your soul? What will you give in exchange for your soul. Your soul is greater than all the riches of the world put together. Your life will not be a waste. Thanks for reading 🤗 ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Break the ceiling Happy Saturday to us all. The year we began is going gradually without waiting for anyone. 8th of January. I believe we are making the best use of the year. I want you to break ceiling today. Do you promise you'll break? What is ceiling? Ceilings are barriers. Age Gender Habits Family background Societal norms Economic status Educational background Race What does it mean to break ceiling? Breaking the ceiling does not mean you should break the roof of your house. That will cause problem. To break the ceiling means to surpass the limitations in the path to achieving your goals. To overcome boundaries, break barriers. So... What is your ceiling? Breaking bad habits. Mastering a skill. Developing an attitude of gratitude. Finishing school. Taking up a new hobby. Professional development. Building a start-up company. Steps to breaking your ceilings It's time to break that ceiling. Look inwards Desire Dream: you will get nowhere without dreams. Seek help. Do what you can. Pray about everything. Seek the greater good. Struggle and emerge. Don't be affected by what people do or say to you. You can change people's opinions about something. Your parents may try to hinder you from pursuing that career of your choice simply because they think it is not " lucrative" or will not fetch much money. When a child comes home and tells his parents he wants to be a musician, the parents will disagree totally. Why? They think it is not a good career for a great person. All you need to do is to look at the future. Don't allow gender discrimination to dissuade you from achieving your goals. Don't worry about any enemy from the village. When your ways please God, He will make your enemies to be at peace with you. You will make it. Keep climbing. This is our year of greatness. Break your ceilings ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Reward in risks When you set goals for success, don't forget to give room for risks. Successful people are usually risk takers. We shouldn't be afraid to take risks. If David had refused to take the risk of fighting Goliath, he would have remained where he was positioned among irrelevant citizens in Isreal. You take risk when you attempt what people say is impossible. You cannot make an outstanding success without including risk in your academic activities. If you really want to excel, begin to attempt the difficult sums that your student colleagues are trying to avoid. Even if you have someone to teach you, try it first. There is no harm in trying. There was this difficult question in mathematics I could not solve in school. I met someone to teach me but the person was busy. Later, I sat down in a very quiet place and was able to solve it with God's help. Someone even said that a dream that does not include risk is not really worthy of being called a dream. If you are afraid of taking risk, you will remain in the seat of mediocre and may never see the light of great achievement. Risk taking will reward you an excellent achievement, sooner or later. If you dare for nothing difficult in your success pursuit, you should not expect something outstanding. A person who attends school to learn stands a better chance to perform in any area of life endeavor. It is only the student who goes for abandoned projects to make a change that will gain the attention of the school system and the world. It is only the students who will be persistent that can get reward. The student who tries to avoid risks, focusing on results will soon find himself performing below par. The student who has lost focus on the essence of education roam the corridor of their schools or run to hideouts while others are in class. As students and in all aspects of our lives, the more knowledge you acquire, the more of civilization light you have and the more you are empowered to be creative and skillful. Learning takes place when you concentrate on the purpose of schooling. A truth we all must know is that the greater the risk we take on the road of success, the more outstanding the reward. Dare to take risks to advance gallantly on your success journey. Thanks for your time. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Tell him who you are (finale) Julie could not believe her ears. What Japheth did was the least she expected him to do. What kind of a man will marry a woman without a womb. Japheth said he wasn't marrying her just for her to give birth to children but, he was marrying her because he loved her. He said if they are not able to bear children, they would adopt a child every two years. Julie's parents were very happy. Julie could not hide her joy. It was as if the wedding should take place the next day. Her mind was now free. A week to her wedding, she met an old schoolmate, Tina, who was to get married that weekend. She promised to visit her after her marriage. Julie Weds💞💍 Japheth The marriage ceremony took place in one of the expensive gardens in the city. The couple danced and danced. They lodged in the hotel for a week before moving to their house. The house had been well furnished. Julie resumed back to her work a month later. She then decided to visit Tina. She followed the address she was given and finally located the house. The two friends were happy to see eachother. Tina served Julie a cup of pineapple juice and called her husband. They began to discuss about their work when Tina's husband came in. Immediately Julie set her eyes on him, she realized her friend had married the wrong man. It was Tj! The man responsible for the pregnancy she aborted. Tina noticed Julie and her husband stared hard at eachother. She asked what the problem was but before TJ prevented her from talking, she exposed the evil that TJ did to her. She didn't talk about the part that her womb was damaged. She left immediately. Tina was already in tears. Julie narrated everything that happened to her husband. As they were talking, TJ called Japheth to expose Julie too. He was shocked to hear that Julie had told her husband everything about her past. He was ashamed a woman was humble enough to tell her man about her past while he hid his past from his wife. Now his two months marriage was about to be separated. Japheth was proud of his wife. He was happy that he married a virtuous woman. Julie too had peace of mind but she was sad that she would not be able to bear children. Two weeks later, they adopted a twin baby whose mother died at birth without husband. Though Japheth's family opposed it, Japheth was able to convince them. He trusted his wife in everything she did. Julie was glad she didn't hide anything about herself. She told him who she really was and it saved her a lot of troubles. If she had not told him anything, the truth would have been exposed by TJ. She would have been sent out of her husband's house. Tina on the other hand could not bear to hear about the promiscuous life his husband lived before marriage. She fainted and was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered she was two weeks pregnant and infected with HIV. TJ was asked to go for a test and he was positive. It was certain that he infected his wife. Julie went for the test too and was negative. Lessons Before you marry that innocent lady, tell her who you are. Don't hide anything. If a lady has aborted or has a child for you in the past, please let her know. Your secret past could cause her future agony. If she truly loves you, she will stay. It will be better than if she finds out herself. Before you marry that innocent young man, expose your life to him. Since he is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with, why won't you tell him everything about yourself? Tell him anything that might affect your marriage in the future. True love is in brokenness and trust. If you have not done anything that needs to be confessed, please keep yourself. Don't live a wayward life. Be clean and God will help you. Thanks so much for following this story from the beginning. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Tell him who you are 2 Good day friends. Today is 5th of January. Why is date not being added to each of our articles? I hope they will improve on that. Thanks for all feedbacks on my previous article. Julie was very bittered at what her life had turned into. How will she cope. Who will ever marry a woman without a womb. She didn't tell her dad all that happened to her in school. He told her that God who changed his life can turn her life around too. But she kept saying it was too late. She left her father's house that night for her mum's place. She was in tears all through the journey. Her father was very sad. Julie could not sleep well in the night. She kept thinking about what her life would be and if God could really change her life. Her mother noticed her moody attitude and had a long discussion with her. Julie opened up that she committed abortion for a man who denied responsibility for the pregnancy. She didn't tell her that her womb was damaged. She resumed in her place of work the following week. The job was not too tedious and she loved it. She called her dad and apologized for everything she said the other night. Two months later, she met a man who was interested in marrying her. She hesitated at first but finally gave him a positive response. She agreed to marry him. She informed her mother and she called her dad too. They supported the marriage and the date for the wedding was fixed. Family and friends began to prepare for the glorious day. Fear began to set in for Julie. She considered it a total wickedness on her part to conceal the truth about herself from her husband to be. After she gets married, people will expect to see her protruding tummy. Her husband will begin to to go from one hospital to the other. She could no longer concentrate at work. Two weeks to the wedding, her mum had a fearful dream about her. That was when she confessed everything. She told her mum to convey her sincere apologies to Japheth, her fiance. She said she doesn't want him to suffer after marriage and he should release her to go. When Japheth heard all these, he was devastated. He wondered why Julie was just saying this when it was two weeks to the wedding. Julie's parents took responsibility for everything everything that happened to her. Japheth stormed out of the house and Julie cried the more. She had lost a man who loved her wholeheartedly. When Japheth got to the house he planned to live with his wife, he was pained. He thought deeply and realized that if Julie could confess all these before their wedding not considering the shame, there was nothing she would hide from him after marriage. He admired her confidence and love and that was enough even if she would not be able to give him children. He picked up the car key and drove back to Julie's parents' house. He announced that the wedding would hold and that the secret should not be known to anybody. He said he believed that God will give them children. To be continued... I believe we have learnt the attitude of sincerity. Thanks for reading 💖 ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Tell him who you are Julie was from a broken home. Her mother was arrogant and disrespectful. She packed out of her husband's house. She had three children. Julie was the first daughter. Her father married another woman after her mother packed out of the house. She just finished her Senior Secondary School and got admission into a private institution. Her mother struggled to finance her Senior school education and could not afford that of higher institution. Julie went to see her dad but, he was so hostile to her. He told her to go back to her mother and tell her to finish the work she started. She begged him to help her but he said he didn't have any money. Julie gathered some money from her friends and travelled to school. She was squatting with some girls on campus because she had not paid for her accommodation. These girls led her into prostitution and she was able to fend for herself. She got anything she wanted. She had her way with every lecturer and graduated after five years. She chose that same city for her National Youth Service. She met a man in a popular red zone in that city. She began to live with this man hoping to be his wife. She decided to stop prostitution and start life afresh. She got pregnant but the man denied responsibility. He beat her and sent her out of his house. She went to one of her friends place where she took some drugs to get rid of the pregnancy. The drugs went into complications that she began to bleed. She became unconscious and was rushed to the hospital. The doctors battled to save her life. The drugs she took damaged her womb and she could no longer conceive again. Not a single chance. She had committed four abortions while in school and this was the fifth. She was so sad. She cried bitterly. Her friends were sorry for her. She got a job after her service year and decided to go back home finally. She dropped her home address with her friends and bade them farewell. Julie's mother was so happy to see her after many years. She looked sick and pale. She asked after her other siblings and she responded that they just left with her dad before she came in. She couldn't believe it. Her mother told her everything that happened while she was away. Her dad called her mother and siblings to beg for their forgiveness. He said he was sorry for the way he handled them. He promised to make up for everything and desired to see Julie too. Julie left her mum and went to her father's house. She met her stepmom in the living room and inquired about her dad. She didn't give her any response and it almost resulted in a fight before her father came out of his room. He was happy to see her. He took her upstairs to avoid the woman listening to their conversation. He begged Julie to forgive him for everything he had done to her. He said he was sorry for not financing her university education and for neglecting her all these years. Julie could not stop weeping. Why was her father late in having a change of life? Her womb is gone!... To be continued Thanks for reading. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Joy in January A New Year's joy begins in January. It is the month that ushers in a New Year across the continents of the world. It is always a month with great expectations. The first day of January is at all times observed with great delight. Usually, there are picnics everywhere with a glad expression of joy in every face. We have exceedingly great joy that the previous year has passed with all it's troubles, terrors, tears, sicknesses, sorrows, panic, failures, anxieties, depressions, disappointments, heartaches, lacks, limitations, losses, rejections, stagnancy, unfruitfulness and that a new year has emerged with great hope of prospects, possibilities, happiness, health, joy, divine appointments, fruitfulness and greater heights. The eve of the passing year must have been spent in prayer houses by everyone. We all value the prayers of the first few minutes of the new year. Those who never went to the house of God from the beginning of the year will go when it is few minutes to 12 o'clock of 31st of December and you won't see them again till another 31st December. While some people were thanking God for seeing us through year 2021, some were not moved. Some continued in their businesses without closing their shops when it was few minutes to the New Year. Even if the year has been so bad, we still have a reason to praise God. We have the gift of LIFE. That is enough to thank God for. It's great to begin the new year with God. To claim His promises for progress and prosperity. The earnest desire of everyone is often centered on having joy in January and a happy new year. One thing we must do as we join others in the joy of the new year is to yearn for progress in our work. The carnivals of the new year should not overshadow our desire for success. The celebration has died down. Today is the first working day in this new year. It's the third day of the year. Time waits for no man. Preparations for the future starts with the little steps of today. Today is the tommorow we waited for yesterday. A little smile, a little more effort and perseverance, a little more care for details, a little more self-denial and a little more praying will make our future brighter and better. While you bubble with joy in January, don't forget to exercise your faith in God for great possibilities in the new year. Learn new skills and improve yourself in little ways today. Last year has come and pass. This year has come to profit. May this year bring hope and happiness to us in all our ways. Wishing you a prosperous and fulfilling new year filled with all blessings from above. Happy New Year. Thanks for reading. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Food preparations for the new year Today is the last day of the year 2021. It's so good to be alive to celebrate this season in peace. Thanks to everyone who has made this year a memorable one for me. It has really been wonderful. Thank you all for the tips, comments, subscriptions, likes and words of encouragement. Thanks to all my sponsors @Adrielle1214 @Ay_dimeji @scottcbusiness @Jehoshaphat and @Crownofbeauty for introducing me to this platform. Yesterday was the last market day in my place for this year. I followed my aunt to the market to buy some food stuffs. The market place was overcrowded. People came to buy and sell difficult things. Things are also expensive at this season. Everyone wants to make use of this season to make huge profits for themselves. We bought flour to make Chin Chin. The dough was made by my aunt while my sister fried it. It was very tasty. The aroma while frying was inviting. We made a little family cake The light went off while we were baking the cake. We had to use charcoal with the local oven to complete the baking. It came out well. I also made this. We won't be eating these alone. We love sharing. For this reason, everyone should come with their spoons, forks and knives to eat on the 1st of January. I shall be expecting you. Happy New year in advance ❣️ ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Presumptuous Happy last Thursday of the year. Susan was still speaking with her husband on the phone when the line went dead. She couldn't believe that John, her husband would hang up while she was still speaking. So he no longer respect her. She was no longer important. Her face turned red with anger. It was 3pm already. John went out at 8am for an emergency meeting at his work place. He couldn't wait for breakfast. He promised Susan he would return before 12pm. John ended the meeting by 11:30am. Felix gave him a lift because John didn't come with his own car. They entered a traffic jam on the way where they spent more than two hours. John called Susan to explain why he would be late but Susan would not listen. She called her husband by his name and John sensed that something was wrong. He wondered why his wife would not call him his pet name or 'sweetheart'. He tried explaining to Susan that he was in a traffic jam with John. The moment she heard John's name, she flared up. She thought her husband intentionally left her at home to be with his friend. John's battery became flat. He wanted to use John's phone but he forgot to take it along while rushing out in the morning. He resigned to fate. Susan stormed into their bedroom and threw herself on the big bed. She even covered her head with a pillow. The road became clear around 3:30pm. But as they were going, a vehicle that was carrying a container was trying to avoid some potholes when the container fell. The container landed on the car behind it. The driver died instantly. The owner was badly injured. A private hospital close by was alerted and the occupants of the car were taken to the hospital. It was a sorry sight to behold. John could no longer wait because of his wife. He encouraged his friend and walked beyond the accident scene to get a cab. When he got home, there was no sign of anyone. He checked the kitchen but didn't see his wife. He entered the bedroom and found her on the bed. Susan was asleep. She didn't respond to his greetings. John begged her and narrated everything that happened. He hadn't eaten anything since morning. Susan was ashamed of herself. She didn't even prepare anything for her husband because she thought he intentionally delayed his coming home. She begged her husband to forgive her. Presumptuous attitudes are not good in every area of human life. You got to your office in the morning and your junior colleague did not pay attention to you. You presume that he is arrogant. Whereas this person is suffering emotionally. You got to school and greeted your lecturer but he didn't respond. You begin to presume so many things. Whereas this man's car broke down while coming to school. You ask your wife to prepare breakfast very early this morning. But when she woke up, she felt weak and had to sleep a little more. You got dressed and asked for your food. She tried explaining but you picked your briefcase and stormed out of the house in anger. WHY. Don't always assume things. Check it up. Ask questions. You never can tell what is going on with the other person. Don't think he/she is lazy. Don't think he/she does not respect you. Be positive towards everyone. Remember, do unto others as you want them to do to you. Happy New year in advance. You've made my end of the year very beautiful. I can't imagine my growth here. I really appreciate @Jehoshaphat @scottcbusiness for your kind gestures. May the Lord cause His countenance to shine upon you. God bless you. Thank you all for the support. Husband please help your wife Happy last Wednesday of the year. *Everyday I thank God for the husband I married. I am very fortunate to have such a loving, understanding and supportive husband who makes me happy and puts me above his own interests. He understands my emotions perfectly; he could sense when things were not okay with me, even when I mask my facial expressions and body language. He is the epitome of godliness; he helps with the chores, and he is very involved in parenting our kids. He does not does not believe that certain house chores are meant for a particular gender. He would always say every member of the family should work as a team.* Looking at the above thought, we can see that this woman is fortunate to have a good husband who makes her happy. We live in a society that whenever a man helps his wife in babysitting his child or in the house chores, people will begin to say a lot of nonsense. They say the woman has used charm on the husband. They say the husband is no longer thinking straight... All these are mere misconceptions. They are fallacies. What is this world turning into. There is nothing wrong with a man helping the wife with house chores. There is nothing wrong with it. It shows a man loves his wife. It shows you don't want your wife to die untimely. Women are not only in this world to work and work. There are many women today who suffer from miscarriage due to the fact that they don't have time to rest. Many women die at childbirth due to stress. Women grow older in look more than their husbands. A forty-year-old woman looking fifty five. I give kudos to men that help their wives. I respect you. Please don't be bothered by what people say. I know you have done a lot of work in the office but please, help your wife babysit your child while she is in the kitchen. Help her make breakfast once in a while. It will make her happy. Women don't complain. They speak through body language and facial expressions. Study your wife to know what she wants. Do what will make her happy. It's very important if you want her to live long and take care of you and your kids. It will even serve as a good example for your children. It will make them love and respect you the more. It will even make your wife to make you the happiest man on earth. She will always cook delicious meals for you. She will never nag at you. She will be very obedient. People will also respect you when your wife looks more beautiful than when you married her. Well done to the women in the house. You are so wonderful. You do a lot of work to keep body and soul together. You know your husband is not the lazy type. He is a very hard-working man. He does a lot for the home. Please don't turn him into an house help. Respect him as the head. Cook his meals in time and make the house clean. No man loves a dirty environment. Express your feelings. I know you don't like complaining. The responsibilities of the home is on you. Don't argue with him. Tolerate his weaknesses. How you treat him goes a long way to determine if you will continue to enjoy him. Love your in-laws. It's important. Make your husband always have a good look. Marriage is hard work; you need to consistently work on it to keep the fire and passion alive. I pray you will live to eat the fruits of your labor. I specially show gratitude to my new sponsors @Ay_dimeji @scottcbusiness old sponsor, readers, up voters and tippers. I appreciate your love and encouragement. May God grant you all your heart desires. Happy New year in advance. Those of us who are still schooling or preparing for marriage, let us keep these in our memory. It will be useful for us when we eventually get married. I hope I have not said too much. Thanks for reading💖. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Principle of progress Happy last Tuesday of the year. As humans, we all desire to progress in everything we do. In our education, we desire progress. In our work, no one desires to be stagnant. We all desire promotion. But, success is not a game of chances. It comes with challenges and other experiences. Gold is not mined on the surface of the earth. It requires that the miners dig deep down into the heart of the earth to draw out this precious mineral. The mining process requires rigorous and relentless efforts on the part of the miners. This same principle applies to attainment of progress. The student who desires progress must be willing to labour consistently to realize his aspirations. We can learn from this acronym of progress; Painstaking and persistent for success. Resolute and rigorous for success. Observing open doors for success. Growing in goal getting for success. Reading for retention and success. Exploratory and enthusiastic for success. Supplicating and seeking for success. Studying and striving for success. There are twenty-four hours in a day out of which the diligent would work for an average of fifteen hours. Most times, lack of progress is due to laziness that is often demonstrated by few hours of work per day. How many hours do you spend to work in a day? God in His mercy has given us the opportunity to work when it is day. Rest is sweet after labour. Only the indolent finds pleasure in laziness. A lazy person cannot make progress. He cannot make use of open doors. Work does not kill anyone, but laziness brings disgrace. You have to be meticulous in the way you spend your day. The day is made up of one thousand, four hundred and forty minutes. You've got to be wise in your use of time. Every minute that flies off in unprofitable ventures is lost forever. Time is precious. When you engage yourself in profitable venture during the day, you will enjoy refreshing sleep in the night. It will benefit you immensely to work diligently while it is day. Spend your time wisely. Make the best use of each day of your life for a better performance in the achievement of your success goals. Progress is God's plan for you. You can break even and shine among the achievers of your time. Let your focus be on your success goals without giving up pursuing. Begin to attempt the impossible to attain the incredible. Forward ever, backward never. Thanks for reading. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Is He interested in all? Happy last Sunday of the year 2021. Thank God for sparing our lives to see this day. Yesterday, I wrote about a man who was given a permissive will which eventually claimed his life. Like I said, our parents know more than we do. They try every possible means to protect us from danger. But when we don't cooperate with them, how can we fulfill destiny in life? How do we not end our lives like the man we read about? As young adults, sometimes we feel we are too wise to receive advice from anyone. I want you to know that one must not live life that way. We must live under the control of someone who knows more than we do. A mother hen who has just hatched her eggs is usually locked in a cage to keep the chicks away from Hawks. The mother hen will not like the way it is locked up but we humans know that if it is released, almost all the chicks will be devoured by birds. Our parents give counsel to us concerning our career to choose courses that will be relevant in the future. It may be in choosing a life partner. Remember that they have been married and wouldn't marry your partner. So please, whatever advice is given, think deeply about it and do the right thing. They won't live with you in your home when your partner begins to misbehave. You alone will bear every consequence of your wrong choice. They will only come once in a while to comfort you and remind you of their earlier warnings. May we need regret in life. Our heavenly Father is also very much interested in our lives. He loves watching over you and me to keep us from troubles. His will for us is good. Going outside his will and seeking for a permissive will is like going into the devil's trap. Hold on Him. Seek to know his will in whatever you want to do. Before you go into that career, seek to know His mind concerning that course. Before you venture into that business, know His mind concerning it. Before you marry that person, pray to know if he/ she is the one. Before you even rent that house, pray to God to know any hidden thing about it. This might sound ridiculous. It reminds me of a man who was about to get married. He needed a house as part of the requirements before getting married. He secured a place and told his fiance about it. She was not convenient with the house and advised that they pray more about the place. The man thought God wasn't interested in the house he wants to live and paid the rent for two years. He left his parents' home and moved into his new apartment. The first night in the house, a bird began to make a loud voice behind his window and could not sleep. He complained to the landlord of the house but the landlord said there was nothing like that in his house. He became spiritually dry and empty. Unknowing to him that it was the landlord that was responsible for the bird behind his window. The bird was to suck him dry spiritually so that he could be used for ritual. He was kidnapped by the landlord's boys and taken to the dungeon. If not for the timely prayers of his fiance, he would have died just like that. Let's acknowledge God in whatever we want to do and He will direct our paths. He is interested in all our steps and it's going to be well with us. Have a great day. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Permissive will Complements of the season friends. This year is gradually coming to an end. It seems like it was yesterday we greeted ourselves happy New year to 2021. We thank God for safety, provision and many other blessings. We appreciate you Lord. I'm sorry I've not been very active for few days. I've been very busy sewing clothes for myself and siblings. Our story continues... We are learning about a very powerful man who speaks and it comes to pass. Here https://read.cash/@Boluwatife/you-are-blessed-e387f496 is the link to the first part. The king called him the third time to please curse the people but as other times, he didn't consult with his source of power. He said; " You shall overcome in every war you fight. Those who are ready to fight against you will not prosper. God be with you." The king spoke angrily and said; " I promised to promote you to a very great honor if you curse the people. Instead, you have only blessed them. Now, leave my presence and go back to wherever you came from." This man replied and said; " Do you remember the first time you sent your servants to me? I told them I would not come. But when you insisted, I agreed against my will. I told you it is only the words that is put in my mouth that I can say" The king left in annoyance and this man went back to his home. When he got back home, he began to think of the benefits he would have gotten if he had cursed the people. This man knew the secrets of that tribe. He knew what to be done to disconnect them from their own source of power and make them vulnerable. He decided he was going to beg his source of power to allow him to expose the secrets. He consulted with his source of power and was allowed to go. Thank you @Adrielle1214 In Africa, there are different ways parents communicate with their children without speaking. Sometimes, it is through blinking of the eyes, stepping on another's feet, coughing, etc. Our mothers are experts in that. Whenever we want to do something that our parents don't like, our parents will look at us in a particular way and we'll get the message without speech. This was usually interesting when were small. It may be that we have been disturbing our parents for a particular thing. After many requests, they give us permission to do it. This permission is not from their heart. It is permissive will. That was the kind of permission that was given to this man. Due to covetousness and greediness, he exposed the secrets of the tribe, disconnected them from their source of power and cursed them. But, he never lived to be honored by the king. He died, killed by the king so as not to bless the people again. Permissive will of men from God is dangerous. Some people say that life according to the Bible is not possible. They try and try to rearrange and interpret to its permissive will so, it is permissible. You see this scripture, it is given by inspiration of God. It is needed for correction, for reprove, for instruction and direction in righteousness and holiness that the son of man may be complete totally equipped unto every good work. In the same vein, let's not allow our will to override that of God. I believe you have learnt a lesson or more. Thanks for reading ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

You are blessed A long time ago, there lived a very great man. He was very powerful in words. Whatever he says come to pass. Whoever this man blesses remain blessed. Whoever this man also curse, remain cursed. He was well-known. There also lived a king in a far away land. There was a particular tribe he was jealous of. This tribe was growing rapidly but his own people were not. Then he heard about the man who was powerful in words and sent messengers to him to come curse the tribe he was jealous of. This man consulted with his source of power and he was told not to go. He told the messengers that he wouldn't be going with them. The messengers returned to the king and delivered the man's message. The king sent more messengers and each time, this man consulted with his source of power but wasn't allowed to go. The king sent princes to tell him that he would be promoted to a very great position if only he could come over to curse the tribe he was jealous of but yet, this man said he would not go against the words of his source of power. He told the princes to sleep over night and he would know what to do the following morning. He consulted with his source of power again and went with the princes. His source of power became angry and sent to kill him in the way. On his way, he was blinded by covetousness that he didn't see the messenger of death. The horse he was riding saw it and stopped. This man became annoyed that he began to whip the horse he loved. This man's eyes was eventually opened and he saw death in front of him. He began to beg for pardon. The messenger told him to follow the princes but he should only speak the words that will be put in his mouth. When they got to the king's palace, the king brought out the objects of sacrifices and the sacrifice was made. Thereafter, he proceeded to curse the tribe. His source of power put the following words in his mouth; " the king called me from my home to this place to curse these people and whatever is put in my mouth will I speak. How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? Or how shall I speak evil of whom God has blessed? Therefore, these people are blessed. No nation will be able to stand before them. They will prosper and continue to increase." The king got angry and told him to stop. He inquired why he was doing the opposite of what he was supposed to do. The man replied that he can only speak the words put in his mouth and not by his own power can he say anything. The king took him to another side of the place where the people were staying and told him to curse them. He opened his mouth and said; " There is no evil seen in these people therefore, they are continually blessed. They will know no sorrow. They will know no lack, no loss and no limitations. Blessed are those who bless you and cursed are those who curse you." The king stopped him the second time and told him to neither curse them not bless them at all. Who is he that says a thing and it comes to pass when God has not commanded it? Whatever we might have gone through this year, the devil is a lair. Everything that God created is blessed. Therefore, for the rest of our lives, we shall remain blessed. The mighty hand of the Lord will be upon us. He will shield and protect us. It is well with our soul, spirit and body. Anyone anywhere that is trying to tamper with the plans of God for our lives, may their thoughts never be established in our lives. EMMANUEL. The story continues tomorrow... Character counts One of the greatest things in our life is our character. It is what we are; it is what we do in the dark if we know we would never be found. It is what we stand for, fall for or lie for. Courtesy is one of the fading virtues among students of our days. It has become a norm among students to insult teachers. I wonder if our parents were our teachers/ lecturers, would we insult them? Our comportment should be with politeness, respect and well-cultured attitude. We should be polite when talking to elders and considerate in dealing with people around them. A well-mannered student will not jump queue, overrule the right of others and override his fellow students. It is a Christian ethic to be respectful. Beauty without character is ugliness. Few months ago, our English lecturer was teaching us consonant sounds and a lady was very active in the class. Then the lecturer commented that she was beautiful and should be careful of the boys in school. We all laughed. Two days later, another English lecturer was in class and then something happened between this lady and a guy then, she flared up and got angry while the lecturer was still lecturing. The lecturer made a statement that got me thinking. He said " your beauty faded away when you got angry". I was sad for her. Can you see? Character is important in all areas of our lives. Character is also what we will not stand for. It is made by many acts and can be lost by a single act! It takes its foundation from the heart; the thoughts we entertain, the actions we take and the habits we indulge in all lead to the character we become in life. Character cannot be purchased, bargained for or imported from anywhere. It is home-grown and right in the heart. Everyone should desire to be known with good behaviors. A good name is better than riches. You will be identified in the society, not only by your name, but by your character and conduct. A child is known by his doings whether his works are pure and right. A person with good character is transparent and honest. He is dependable and truthful. His YES is YES and his NO is NO. He does not engage in duplicity and deceit. Good character is erected on clear conscience. You should be known with responsible and reliable students that are serious with their studies. Be identified with good manners, it will earn you a position of honor and dignity in life. Give honour to whom honour is due. Make friends with honest and sincere people of God. Thank you very much @Adrielle1214 for the sponsorship. I really appreciate it. God bless you. I say thank you to all who take their time to read, up vote and tip my articles 💖. I love you all. May the purpose of this season be fulfilled in our lives. Merry Christmas and Happy New year in advance 💝❣️ Thanks for reading. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Achievers While I was in primary school, I remember my class teacher always telling us to say " I am a victor, I am not a victim" I never knew what it actually meant. I thought my class teacher was asking us to say " I am a victor, I am not a victory" But now, I know. Positive action and personality attributes differentiate a victor from a victim. Winners take prompt actions on their goals while losers fold their arms. One great wisdom of the winner is found in the saying that " winners never quit" A winner is a champion who will not give up whatever may be the difficulties he is facing. Great achievers in history are people who saw failures as feedbacks and turned obstacles into opportunities for success. The winning student is a champion in the battle for success who will not give in to any discouragement in his bid to excel. A winner forgets those things that are behind him and follow after the goals that are before him. This focused attitude helps the winner to move from strength to strength and from victory to victory. You've got to tap from the wisdom of winners and achievers. To be a winner, don't not quit whatever happens. Get tough when things get tough. Attempt what others say is impossible. Never be discouraged with disappointments. Smile as you soar in difficult situations. Make obstacles your stepping stone to success. Achievers are always: Ambitious to be achievers Brilliant at their best Conscientious as champions Diligent and dutiful Exceptional in exploration Forthright in faith Gifted and growing Hardworking and honest Kind and knowledgeable Loving and labouring Motivated and mindful Networking and nice Open-minded to opportunities Persistent and painstaking Responsible and reliable Selfless and studious Teachable and time-conscious Understanding and useful Visionary and venturing Wise and winning X-raying and extraordinary Zipping through to the zenith There is much you can borrow from the attributes above to move on to the camp of these achievers. Dare to be one of them and begin to live up to the task. Be a champion and not a coward! *Thanks for reading.* *Boluwatife writes 🖌️*

God bless Jonathan Excuse me dear reader, do you have a Jonathan for a friend? Oh please go and get one. You need to have a friend as good as Jonathan; otherwise, it will be difficult for you to ever become king. " My name is David. I was the second king of Israel and although Saul was not around when Prophet Samuel anointed me king, yet he became suspicious of my popularity especially after, by the grace of God, I killed Goliath. I thought the king would be happy with me after I married his daughter, but he was not. Instead, he gave instructions to all his servants that they should kill me. That was when Jonathan intervened. God bless Jonathan. He was a true and courageous friend. Jonathan went to his father, the king and pleaded for me. God helped Jonathan and the king listened to his plea. What could I ever do or become without the timely intervention of Jonathan." Jonathan never cared if he got to the throne or not. All he wanted was the best for his friend. A compassionate friend. A selfless and loving friend. Young people do not like to be alone. They prefer to be identified with one group of friends or the other. This accounts for their regular change of friends. It is interesting observing new entrants to higher institutions. They are approached by representatives of different groups in the campus, such as religious and occult groups. Their mission is to recruit potential members into their groups through unsolicited friendship and assistance. Unsuspecting new students have fallen victims of these social deviants to their hurts. There is great danger in keeping company with peers of strange behavior. There are lots of good people today who have been negatively influenced by bad friends. They'll mislead us on our paths to success. Solomon says" my son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not if they say, come with us... My son, walk not in the way with them; refrain the foot from their path" Associating with people of questionable character will mar our future. Friendship can be very rewarding. That relates to friends that are intimate with eachother in a sincere, honest and profitable relationship with good principle. The influence of friends in your life can either be very wonderful or alarming. Selfish friends have nothing good to offer you but to use you to serve their interest. If your friends are generous and cordial, they will bring out the potentials in your life. Birds of a feather flock together. When you move with serious minded students, you will receive challenges to study hard for success. Your future is at stake if you keep any relationship with truants, latecomers and noisemakers in school. A friend who will not encourage you to go to school or challenge you to grow spiritually is not an ideal companion and should be avoided. Every nation needs a Jonathan too. Let's take a look at our president of yesterday. Let's look the good things his tenure brought to us. He was a father and friend. He is known as a peace keeping man. We need a leader like Jonathan. You need a Jonathan too in your life that will link you up with the king and all the people you need to find favour with today. I also pray that God will make you a Jonathan in other people's life. Thanks so much for your time. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

My first time cooking for a visitor I finished writing my Examination on Thursday and I went to school on Friday to meet with one of my lecturers. I got to school but our class rep was not yet in school. We were supposed to see the lecturer together. Some were reading for the last paper they had. I went to one of the lecture rooms to charge my phone. One of my coursemates came to meet me to transfer some movies to her because that was the last day of the semester. After some time, I went to see the lecturer I came to meet. When I got to his office, he said he wouldn't have time because he was to supervise the examination. I wasn't happy because that was the reason why I went to school. I should be at home at that time. As I was coming out of his office, my phone fell off my hands and landed " gbam" on the floor. I could not pick it up. My coursemate picked it up for me and the screen was crashed. I was sad because if I had not come to school , my phone would have still been in good condition and I still didn't achieve my aim of going to school. I blamed myself for going to school yesterday. I greeted my mates happy New year in advance and left the school immediately. I got to my room, packed my things and travelled home. The journey home was sweet but for reckless driving of the bus driver. We kept pleading with him to be patient and allow us get to our destination safely. I got home around 4pm. My siblings were happy to see me. As usual, they asked what I bought for them while searching my bag. My dad was at home but my mom was not around. At 6:30pm, a friend came to visit my dad. He is a young man. He didn't know I was back from school. He met my dad outside the house and informed him of my presence. He came into the house and we exchanged greetings. We talked about school life and the examination. We kept talking till my dad came into the house and joined the discussion. When it was getting late and he refused to go, I went into the kitchen to prepare something for dinner. There was practically nothing done. I had to start by blending the peppers, onions, garlic and tomatoes. I fried the stew and prepared the vegetable. My siblings were busy playing with our visitor's phone. I was alone in the kitchen thinking of whether to prepare the visitor's food or not. After preparing the stew, I switched off the electric cooker and sat down for ten minutes. I was waiting for him to go because I was nervous. I had never prepared a visitor's food before because my mum was always around to do the cooking while I assisted. It isn't because I don't know how to cook but because he was a male visitor. I eventually got up, placed the pot on the cooker and pour water inside. I was carefull with everything I did. After cooking, I served the food. As I was serving him, I searched for a very good meat to give him. I finished serving but he said he was going. My dad persuaded him to eat before going and he agreed. I stayed in the kitchen waiting for him to finish eating and make his comment. He finished eating and thanked me saying the food was delicious. I was relieved. At least, any visitor that wants to come can now visit 🤩. I'm prepared. He left around 8:30pm and my dad saw him off. I ate my own food after he left and I was happy the food came out well. I'm sorry I didn't take any picture. I remembered but I was just not in the mood. I wish you a happy weekend. Thanks for your time. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Smile A smiling face is a shining face. A cheerful spirit governed by wisdom and grace, is a great ornament to a lively countenance. Cheerfulness contributes positively to the comfort and usefulness of a person and those around him A smile is a pleasant expression made by the mouth. It is an indication that someone is happy. Smile relaxes the mouth and the face muscles and makes the heart to merry. It is a signal that the heart is in good condition of a healthy relationship with someone or something. The condition of our hearts will normally reflect in our countenance. It is noted with a cheerful outlook full of joyful disposition. Psychologists say that you need few muscles to smile and many muscles to frown. You do yourself a deal of good by greeting people with a smile. Wearing of a frown face and a defeated outlook will do more harm than good to anybody. People who look melancholic and morose expose their lives to the danger of depression. A smiling face adds value to your outlook. Do not live your life wearing a mask of sorrow. Give a smile to everyone that comes your way in life. A cheerful look complements good health. Whatever challenges you may be having in life, smiling will make you lively. The people who smile quite often have learnt to smile over their problems. You cannot carry the burden of problems in your heart and have stamina to do any tangible work for success. The best in you can only be tapped when you are enthusiastic about what you are doing. Passionate students learn better in class and do well in their fields of endeavor. It is when you are happy that you can assimilate better. Don't allow the challenges of life to weary you on the path of progress. Learn to laugh over your troubles and you will find the strength to move forward with cheerfulness. It is a cheerful countenance that will help you to be confident to move forward courageously as a champion. If you do not know how to smile, begin to learn it. It is always good for you to smile. A natural smile is the best shock absorber you can install in your body system against every challenge. Smile into the new year and make 2022 a beautiful year for yourself. Learn to keep a smiley face, it adds value to your personality and keeps you happy and healthy. Thanks for reading. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

The touch of a mother I am back! Boluwatife is happy to be here again. I have been away for some time. I had to take a break because of some circumstances beyond my control. What am I missing? I know I've missed a lot of articles but I will try to catch up. I need your thought on this issue. My mum and dad were classmates in their Secondary School days. They were friends. They became so close. One thing led to the other and my mum got pregnant for my dad. My mum was sent out of her parents' home and my dad accepted her. I grew up to know my dad and wicked stepmom. My dad told me that my mum left me with him when I was few months old. He said she left a note and vanished into the thin air. My dad married another woman to take care of me. She gave birth to two kids; a boy and a girl. She is usually friendly with me before my dad but in his absence, I suffered. The situation grew worse after I finished my SSCE. I would cook, do the laundry, clean the house while she would sit down playing with her children. I mustn't taste out of the food without permission and must not report to my dad. I gathered courage and told my dad. He promised to talk to her but I wouldn't see any change. Although he would give me money and buy things for me secretly without his wife knowing. I eventually got admission into the university and I was happy to leave home although, I missed my dad. My stepmom was keeping record of my dad's savings and he could not send money to me without her knowing. There was a time I was out of cash in school and a group of friends invited me to a party where we would dance and be paid. I agreed to attend but almost got raped just because of money. I cried when I got back home. A course mate preached to me and I got saved. I got a roommate in my third year in school. Her name is Cynthia. She is from the United States. Her mum sent her to Nigeria when she discovered that Cynthia was moving with notorious girls who took hard drugs. A week after she got to Nigeria, she called her mum that she needed more money. Her mum suspected she wanted to buy more drugs and asked for the exact thing she needed but refused to send her money. She became angry and I told her not to speak abusive words to her mother. We talked about a lot of things and I told her about my personal experiences. Few days later, Cynthia's mum called to inform her that her best friend died of drug overdose. She froze for a minute and began to cry. She said that friend of hers was so young and strong. I consoled her and told her the dangers in the use of drugs. She said she didn't want to die and eventually gave her life to Christ. I came back from school the next day to find the whole room scattered. Cynthia was looking for her drugs. I had burnt them before leaving for school that morning. She begged me to give her the drugs or she would die. I was a bit scared because of the way she was behaving but I reminded her of who she was in Christ and asked her to say " I am crucified with Christ. Drugs shall not have dominion over me. I shall not die but live to declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living" After a while, she became calm. Cynthia's mum called a week later. She was curious to know why her daughter had not called for some time to request for money. She was surprised when Cynthia told her that she was free from drugs and she spoke about me too. She requested that the phone be given to me and I confirmed Cynthia's words. She was so happy that she said she was coming to Nigeria the following week. Cynthia was super happy. I was happy for her too. Later that night, l cried to God to connect me with my mum wherever she was even though I didn't know her. Cynthia's mum landed in Nigeria the following week. We followed the address she gave us and we got to her house. Mother and daughter were happy to see eachother. She greeted me cheerfully and thanked me for what I did for her daughter. To God be the glory. She told us to go to the kitchen and prepare anything we wanted. After the meal, she began to offload the things she bought for Cynthia and me. As I was trying some of the clothes on, she noticed a birth mark on my shoulder and told us more about herself. She said she got pregnant for her classmate in secondary school. After giving birth to the baby, she said she met a man who promised to take her out of the country. She left the baby with the husband and travelled abroad. She got pregnant and gave birth to Cynthia. Her story was same as mine. I realized she was my mother. She begged me to forgive her. All these years I suffered and lived without the love and care of a mother. She never cared how I would survive. If not for my dad who took care of me. All these while, Cynthia was only muttering " this is so good to be true. Precious is my sister" Should I forgive her? Will my dad accept her? I need your thought. Thanks for reading. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Kidnappers As you go out today, the Lord God Almighty will protect you from kidnappers. Kidnapping is a serious problem in some communities. Here is a mother's experience with some kidnappers. She was on a journey to visit one of her daughters who just gave birth. She stood by the roadside and flagged down a bus. Halfway into the journey, a gang of armed robbers stopped the bus and asked all of them to alight from the vehicle. The gang of armed robbers led all of them, six women, four men and two children, into the jungle. When the kidnappers led them to where they lived, they told them to sit down on the bare floor. This woman was spotted by the leader of the kidnappers and she was asked to be brought to the abattior. She was afraid. She began to pray her last prayer for her children. When she got to the abatior, the leader told the boys to excuse them and the following conversation ensued. Kidnapper: What is your name? She: Ola... Olabisi sir. Kidnapper: Don't use 'sir'for me. She: Okay sir. Kidnapper: I said don't use sir for me. She: I'm sorry sir. I mean to say I'm sorry. Kidnapper: Do you know me? She: No sir... No sir Kidnapper: You mean you can't recognize this face? She: Sorry, I can't even see the face. Kidnapper: (uncovers face) Hmm? She: I can't recognize the face. Kidnapper: Your surname is Adeyeye. She: Yes, I am Adeyeye Olabisi. Kidnapper: You were a teacher at Olomi Community High School. She: Yes Kidnapper: You still cannot recognize me? She: I have never met you in my life. Kidnapper: I see, let me help you. Do you remember Olayemi Silas, popularly know as silly boy. She: Silas? Kidnapper: This is Silas. I used to be your student at Olomi Community High School. You remember what you did to me back then? Flashback (eight years ago) Eight years ago, Silas was almost expelled from school. The offense he committed was a serious one and in time past, some were either suspended or expelled for lesser offenses. This woman pleaded on his behalf and the principal accepted her pleas. She later called him to her office and spoke to him to remember his poor parents who were struggling to give him an education. She said there was a bright future ahead of him and the only hindrance on his way to success was the life of waywardness. She advised him that day to turn a new leaf and allow God to turn his life around. Present time.( He asked this woman to sit down because she had been standing all this while) Kidnapper: You remember everything? She: Yes Kidnapper: What really touched me was the fact that you were the only one who believed that I could amount to something good in life. While other teachers stood against me, you said it was well with me. You spoke for me before the school authority and the principal forgave me. You preached Jesus to me. I was so touched by your love that I wept like a baby. I surrendered my life to Jesus that day. She: Since you were saved that day, how did you end up doing this? Kidnapper: My salvation did not last long. It only lasted for the period you were a teacher at OCHS before you were transferred to another school in another town. Other teachers were the cause of my fall. Even after I had changed, they never believed. After a while, I gave up my faith. I eventually dropped out of school and ended up with this gang. She: You can still retrace your step back to God. He'll receive you. Kidnapper: No one comes to this place and gets out alive. I'll be releasing you today because of what you did for me. That was how this woman was saved with the other passengers. Silas surrendered his life back to God. His gang members wouldn't allow him back out. God gave him victory and lived a good life thereafter. Whatever we do today, has a way of saving or killing us tommorow. Happy weekend. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

When parents are offended Parents are custodians of children. They are the gateways by which children come to the world. They are the ones given the responsibilities of moulding the lives of children. Parents have great roles to play in the life of their children right from birth. In the course of moulding and bending, either parents or their children get offended. We all know that our parents love us. They want the best for us. They want to be proud of us. No parent wishes the children to become vagabonds that will bring sorrow and shame. There are some children that never want to be corrected. They want to have their way all the time. But when a child is left to him/herself, it ends in destruction. I'm sorry to say, some parents are at fault sometimes. Like a fish, the best time you can bend it is when it is still wet. If you try bending when dried, you will end up breaking the fish. Parents are to train their children when they are young not when they are old and unbreakable. When parents are offended, it is hard at times to beg them. I once had an issue with my parents and it was like I was trying to impose my will. My dad then became quiet and I knew he was offended. I went to school and came back but he was still quiet. I tried bringing up a discussion but he wasn't responding. I eventually apologized to him. He asked why I was apologizing and then I explained to him and that was how it was settled. So in these times when it seems difficult for parents and children to connect, how do we pass across our message to our parents? That is how do we communicate our message to our parents? Sometimes we need to tell them how we feel by having a discussion with them. What if we are not bold to talk directly at first? We can write a letter. Sometimes I feel timid to express my feelings to my parents so I write a letter. I've actually done this a couple of times and it has helped. Writing a letter helps us to articulate our thoughts into writing. Writing letters at times still does not help. But, there is another way out. God is our ultimate parents, our earthly parents are the custodians hired by God. That is, tell God about it and probably have a conversation with them and trust God to handle the rest. We can also go through our siblings. We can ask our older or younger siblings to help beg our parents. There is no way offense will not come. It only depends on how we handle it. Thanks for reading. Have a blessed day. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

Success Success does not come by chance. It cannot be achieved by gambling either. Success is often the reward of hardwork. Secrets of success will work for no man who cannot sit down and work. `Good action plans for success without corresponding actions will yield no result.` Students who strive for success must do it lawfully to get desired result. Determination to make it in life is a way to excel, no matter the barriers in the way. It is an indispensable quality of a student who wants to succeed. A student who wants to do well must have single-mindedness and willpower. A student of success is confident that no cloud can put out the sun. He believes that in his hours of darkness, God will shed light on his way. Success is a product of determination, devotion, discipline, diligence and dutifulness. It is only for students who are ready, at all times to pay it's price. The price of success is too expensive for the mediocre students. Students that desire it more than silver and gold. Success, often than not, is the reward for students who are always at their best in pursuing their academic goals. You can also shine among the students of success if you care to pay the price. It is not strange today in our secondary schools and tertiary institutions to find students, who wrote notes but do not read, planned time-table but would not follow through, bought textbooks and handouts but refuse to study. They are attending good schools with seasoned teachers and lecturers but are not making use of the opportunity they have. Students whose choice is excellence have the duty to be diligent, disciplined and dedicated in taking actions to pursue their success goals. Your success depends on the actions you are taking on your goals. Profitable work is done to prepare for excellence when you give the best of your time and talents to study for success. Maintain self control to do your best in reading, revising and studying your books very well in preparation for outstanding performances. Success is within your reach if you will work hard and give the best of your life to study for excellence. Being at your best is buying the best of success in academics. Be sure that you are always at your best in your academic pursuit. Giving the best gives birth to receiving the best. Don't be too much involved in religious activities. Please, get me right. I am not saying you should not worship God. Serve Him with the best of your ability and don't forget to read. There are some people that will skip classes, refuse to do assignments and tests all in the name of serving God. Some will pray, pray, pray and will not read. Others will say once you offer a religious course in school, you can never fail God's subject. That's not true. My dear, read and pray. That is the way to succeed. God will not come down from heaven to write your exams for you. The only thing God will help you with is to remind you of all you have read. So when you don't read anything what will He remind you? Set your priorities right. Some say read as if you don't have God to pray to and pray as if you will not read. Balance things. When it is time to read, read. When it is time to serve God, serve Him. Hezekiah's principle of success HAVE time for multiple goals. Set goals you want to achieve. EXALT God. God promised to honour those who honour Him. ZEALOUSLY pursue your dreams. Hezekiah did whatever he had to do with all his heart. ELIMINATE doubt. He trusted God with his whole heart. KEEP your focus clear. Hezekiah pursued his mission with hard work. INCREASE your area of influence. He spread his prosperity from secular to spiritual areas. ASK for help from people who know more than you do. HAVE faith in God and wait on Him until he brings your dream to pass. You too will succeed and prosper like Hezekiah when you work hard and trust God. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

What life has thrown at me 2 Thank you all for reading the first part of this article. Thanks for all comments and tips. This is the final part. This is the link to the first part https://read.cash/@Boluwatife/what-life-has-thrown-at-me-fb4b4c82 ...we were all locked down. I took all mathematics textbooks I could lay my hands on from sss1 to sss3. We were banned from going for lessons so I had to study on my own. I began to work and pray and work and pray. It wasn't easy. It got to a time that I was even tired of reading. My siblings at times would fight with me because I didn't have time for them. I don't blame them because they don't know how it feels to be battling with one subject in SSCE for three years when my mates were almost done with school. I pray they never know. The examination timetable was released and I began to revise. To my surprise, mathematics was the first paper on the timetable. The tension of writing mathematics as first paper was not good for some students. I wrote the examination with the help of God but I wasn't sure if I was going to make a credit. My dad asked me if I was able to do the examination well and I told him that I tried my best but that I would like to register for NECO too because it had not closed. I was determined to make it that year with God on my side. My lesson teacher had already adviced me to answer the questions that I knew first before the other ones. I did my best in the two examinations and I left the rest for God to do. I resumed back at my place of work and awaited the results. I actually did the examination in the same school I worked. A month and a half later, we were about to eat dinner when my lesson teacher called my dad to inform us that the result had been released. I left the food I wanted to eat and moved closer to my dad 🙄. You need to see the way my lesson teacher was talking that day😆. He spoke as if something was wrong. He eventually broke the news that I passed mathematics 😂. I feel like crying as I write this. These are tears of joy. After all these years of writing and rewriting. I didn't eat that night. I was super happy. My family rejoiced with me. My proprietor and proprietress were also happy for me. Special thanks to my parents, teachers and friends for supporting me all these years. It was God because the same exam I did and passed, some failed. Till now, I have not checked my NECO result. That was how I finally gained admission this year. Although some of my mates are currently serving the nation, I still thank God for where I am because I have not forgotten that some are dead. I know two of my mates that are dead. One of them was a very good friend of mine. She could not graduate with us because she was sick during the examination. She spent another year and passed her SSCE. She got admission last year and her parents accompanied her to the school on a Thursday. She was hale and hearty. She fell sick on Saturday and was rushed to the hospital. She died on Sunday. You can imagine the stress her parents must have gone through. Almost a million naira had been paid for her school fees. My condolence to her family. Some can't even further their education. So, I thank God for where I am. I'm eagerly waiting to be who and where He wants me to be. When I solve some basic mathematics questions today, people do tell me to go for math related courses. I just smile and say you people don't know how much I have suffered in the hands of this mathematics all to the glory of God. **My advice** In whatever you do, be persistent. Don't give up. You can do all things with the help of God. Don't join others to do evil because you want to succeed at all cost. Be grateful. Thanks for reading. I hope I made your day. ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***

What life has thrown at me I finished my Senior Secondary School education in 2018. Meanwhile, in 2017, while in sss2, my dad registered WAEC GCE for me in July. It was to be written during the long vacation. I did the examination in the school I attended. Immediately I heard that the result was released, I quickly paid#30 on my phone to check my result. I got the message of my result the following morning while preparing for school. When I checked it, I had pure f9 in mathematics 😥. Waec didn't even have mercy on me with a pass. I cried bitterly😭 that day in school because my plan was to go for a direct entry programme and gain admission to 200level. I was very sad. My classmates wondered what was wrong with me. I couldn't explain myself. We had mathematics class that morning and my teacher asked me what the problem was. I couldn't answer. I was ashamed. I just shook my head that there was nothing. I kept mute in school that day. My dad just told me to make sure I prepared for my final exams well. My mathematics result for first term in sss3 was also written in red ink. I never knew the journey had just begun. I registered for WASSCE and NECO together in 2018 with the hope that I was going to pass. The examinations went well except with some little disturbances from classmates and teachers. You need to see me on the day we did English Language. I didn't know what went wrong but I just couldn't understand the questions I was reading. I tried and tried still, there was no change. Everything went blank. I cried😰 in the examination hall although, no one noticed. When the examination finished, I didn't wait for any of my classmates to ask them how the examination went. I wanted to be home. When I got home, I was happy no one was around to ask me questions. I went straight to bed and prayed that the result would be good. Waec eventually released the results but withheld ours☹️ and some other schools. Our principal tried all she could but all to no avail. We managed to do the graduation ceremony on a low key. Some did not even come for the graduation. Prizes were given to the best students in each subjects and to the prefects. The principal encouraged us that the results would be released. Few weeks later, NECO released the results. I made all subjects but with E8 in mathematics. I scored well in UTME so I thought I would be given admission. I went to the cafe to upload my o' level result. The man I met collected his fees and started the processing. When it was time to upload the result, he told me that the school I chose does not accept pass in mathematics after collecting the sum of three thousand two hundred naira. I was furious. Didn't he know what the school wanted before starting the processing? I left the place with tears. What was I going to do? Eventually, WAEC released our result when it was almost late but the mathematics was the same as the other one. I did not bother to go to any cafe because I knew what the outcome would be. I gathered courage and went to meet one of my juniors in school to teach me mathematics. Then I registered for NECO GCE in another school with the support of my parent. All along I was praying and reading. The distance from our house to the examination venue was very far. Some of my mates were also there for the examination. We finished the examination and awaited the release of the results. The result was released a month later. Can you guess my result? I had E8 again in mathematics😒. My dad could not endure it any longer. At times I would sit alone and cry my eyes out. It wasn't easy at all. I began to attend extra lessons with my juniors. At times when we were given classwork, I would do it and keep it. Then my lesson teacher called me asking if I was shy. Hmm... I had no choice since I wanted to further my education. The following year, 2019, I registered for NECO in another school again. The distance was also very far. I had to borrow uniform from one of the students who was my friend. She only wrote WASSCE so I was able to use her uniform. The examination was okay. Since I was a new student, they kept their distance. You need to see the way some of them were talking to me as if I was their mate just because I didn't engage in examination malpractice. It wasn't their fault. The result was released too and I had D7. This was the fifth one. This time I was already working in a private school. In 2020, my dad told me with a tone of finality that that year would be the last time he was going to pay for my SSCE. I did UTME and my result was good. I registered for WASSCE alone. I planned to leave my teaching job in March to prepare adequately for my exams. But as God would have it, Covid-19 pandemic set in and... to be continued ***Boluwatife writes 🖌️***
