Wait for your turn
Anything that has to do with waiting seems to be a wasting of time to many, and yet this is the unchanging principle of success in life. Until you get the endurance to wait, you can never have the assurance of success. Success is time-bound, and those who understand this patiently work hard while waiting for their turn to receive their lot in life.
Many people want success, but they don't want to do the work that is necessary to achieve it. They would rather complain about how hard it is to wait or how unfair it is that they have to wait. But the truth is, success is time-bound. You have to have the endurance to wait for it. You have to be willing to put in the work and be patient. And most importantly, you have to be ready when your time comes.
You've probably heard the saying, "the early bird gets the worm." And while that may be true, there are many other things that go into becoming successful. You can't be in a hurry to achieve your goals because if you are, you'll likely miss out on important things.
You need to focus on what you're good at and do it to the best of your ability. As you continue to work hard and put your best foot forward, success will eventually find you. But remember, there is an appointed time for everything, so be patient and stay the course. As you walk through life, you will come across many people. Some you will start life with, others you will meet along the way. There is no need to compare yourself to others, as everyone has his or her own path to follow. Just because someone has become successful earlier than you, doesn't mean you can't catch up. In fact, you might even surpass them. Don't let anyone else determine your destiny. Run your own race and be the best you can be.
You may be feeling down because you look at your friends on social media and they all seem to be doing better than you. They might have started out at the same time as you, but they have now "made it" while you are still struggling. Don't worry, you are not alone. Many people feel this way.
You work hard, you hustle, you put in the time and effort but you're not where you want to be. You look around and see others who started out with you but now they're doing better than you, living a better life. It's easy to get down, to feel like you're stuck and that you'll never make it. But don't give up, don't let them win.
Remember, life isn't a race with your mates, it's a race with yourself. There are no classmates in destiny, everyone has their own appointment time. Each time you set yourself in a race with those you call your mates, you inadvertently set yourself in a race with sorrows and misery. So don't do it, focus on your own journey and put your energy into reaching your goals. When you finally do reach the top, you'll be able to look back and be proud of yourself, knowing that you did it on your own.
Patience is key to achieving lasting success in life. Those who are in haste often end up piecing their souls with many sorrows. You are not in a competition with anyone except yourself. So challenge yourself each day and beat your expectations. Look into your mirror each morning and tell the man or woman you see in there, "I must conquer you". Yes, the challenge is to conquer yourself. Not until you conquer yourself, you can never conquer anything else. Until you become nothing in your eyes, you can never become something.
Self is the root cause of most problems. Self is the one who sets you in a race with others. Self is the one who points you to your neighbor. Self is the one who shows to you your mates. Self is the one who puts you under unnecessary pressure to succeed in life. Mr self will tell you, you are wasting time even when you are working hard. Self is never at peace seeing others being served first.
Self is the one who tells you that you are not good enough. Self is the one who makes you feel inferior to others. Self is the one who wants to be served first always. But, remember this; Mr. self is not your friend. You don't need "self" to succeed in life. You are capable of achieving anything without "self". Serve others, and you will be served in return. That's the law of life.
There are many other things that can affect us along our journey in life, but we hope that these have helped you in understanding the major issues in life and how you can handle them. Remember that whether you are rich or poor, successful or unsuccessful, the end goal remains the same. Always be the best you can be, no matter what happens.
Waiting can be difficult especially when it feels like everybody else is moving ahead and you are still waiting, you then begin to question everything and just like said self begins to come into play with the doubts, uncertainty and frustration. Believing in what you are doing, the steps you are taking, trusting in the process and believing in the purpose you believe you have been called to as well as trusting God to be with you through the processes all help to keep you encouraged to take one step after another in that direction we believe in.
