A day at the dental hospital.
Hello readers, trust you all are doing well. I want to share with you guys my experience at the dentist. It was a funny experience by the way.
I was a bit young then, I can't remember clearly how old I was . I discovered another tooth was growing behind one of my lower incisors. It wasn't painful when it first started but later ini, it started to hurt, then it stopped again.
The additional tooth really disfigured my dentition. I managed it for a year, then the pain began again. So now my dad was left with no choice but to take me to the dentist to get it removed. That was were it all started.
On the morning of the appointment, my mum made I and my dad some breakfast because we had to see the dentist very early in the morning. As I was eating I lost one of my milk tooth, though it was wiggling before which is normal for kids. They began to laugh at me, I joined them to laugh too, exposing the tooth I had just lost which made the whole situation even funnier.
We finished eating breakfast, then I hoped into my dad's car. On our way to the dentist,he asked me how I felt about the tooth being removed, I told him I was happy because I would be relieved of the pain and I'd have a nice dentition once again.
We finally got to the dentist, his name was Dr. Ricket. He asked me to sit on a chair, he used something like a torch light to examine my tooth. He asked me to lie down on a surgical chair which was almost looking like a chair but I could relax my back with my head facing up comfortably.
At this point I was getting scared because I just thought it was a simple thing, why is it looking like I want to be operated on? . My dad noticed I was scared, so he told me to calm down and do as the dentist says.
He asked me to open to open my mouth wide, I did so, then he brought a syringe close to my mouth, I sprang up and ran out of the place in fear, then he called me back and explained what it was meant for, he said that it's an *anaesthesia* , so that I won't feel any pain when he wants to remove the tooth.
I went back Into the theatre with boldness, I laid on the bed,but when I saw the syringe again, I got scared and sprang up again and ran outside. A nurse approached me from nowhere, she carried me on her shoulders into the theatre, I was forced to lie on the bed. Then I began to beg the doctor not to harm me ๐ฅบ.
***Ohh ..... poor little me ๐ฅบ***
He told me it wouldn't hurt, I wouldn't even know by the the time he was done. So I closed my eyes and opened my mouth wide, when I opened my eyes, I saw the dentist smiling, then he said : *you see? I told you it wouldn't hurt.* I began to smile too, after few minutes I began to feel the effects of the anaesthesia, I couldn't feel my mouth anymore (it felt really weird ๐).
The doctor proceeded to removing the tooth. I do not know details about that because I obviously couldn't see my mouth. When he was done he prescribed some medications and gave it to my dad, then it showed me the tooth, it was really long and yeah it was white ๐
My dad drove us home and on the way he bought me some snacks. I was happy. When I got home I told the family my experience and we all laughed.
That was my experience at the dental hospital. I hope we enjoyed it.
Till next time...... Peace โ๏ธ
I should have remained a Child.
Hello readers,I hope you all had a nice day, mine was quite alright I'd say.
Yesterday, I sat on a chair in the garden receiving fresh air thinking about how I'd spend my week ,but the kids next door won't let me think properly due to amount of noise they were generating from the outdoor game they were playing . This reminded me of my childhood.
My childhood days were really fun and interesting. Those days when I had little or nothing to think or worry about. How I miss those days. All I did was just eat,go to school, play, eat again and sleep. My aunt would assist me with my homework whenever I come back from school. Things were really easy for me.
Childhood memories are priceless. I remember those years when my mom would take I and my siblings to amusement parks and recreation centers to have fun, we had the best toys amongst our pairs, we also had beautiful clothes to wear which helped us to gain confidence at a very young age. She did all that so that we wouldn't feel the absence of our dad who had to work abroad for a few years, he always come home every Christmas with lots of gifts, toys, clothes, cookies and sweets. He spent just three years before he finally came back to us.
I also miss a lot of TV shows, cartoons, movies and series like SpongeBob SquarePants, Scooby Doo, Ben 10, Icarly,Sam and Cat, Drake and Josh and many others. Those shows really taught me a lot of things. Asides the fact that they were very funny, they were also very educative.
What I enjoyed the most during my childhood days was spending time with my cousins. After, an academic calendar had ended,we always travel during the holidays to see our cousins in other cities, this was always fun for me because I love to travel and explore new places. My parents would leave us in our cousin's house and go back to continue their jobs. We'd have fun throughout the holidays; we'd play games, visit tourist centers and make sure we have the time of our lives before the break is over and our parents come back to take us home.
Whenever our parents come back to take us home we won't be happy because we wanted those moments to last forever but unfortunately they can't. We'd go back home and when we resume school, we'd share our experiences with our friends.
Well, how time flies, that era is over, I can call myself an adult now, I have to do things on my own ,I have to make decisions on my own , I have to make money to survive because my parents can not give me what they used to because they believe I'm now an adult.
I should have just remained a kid so that I can keep enjoying those benefits. Though when I was a kid, I was wanted to become an adult so fast but I didn't know that adulthood comes with so much responsibilities and problems.
Then, I came back to my senses and said to myself "*Well, I am now an adult*" I drew out my plan for the week and I went ahead to make dinner for myself because nobody would do that for me.
In life, we all have to grow, challenges will come but we have to be strong to overcome them.
I hope that was interesting and I also hope we learnt something. Have a nice time readers. See you next time.
Are they really happy.
Hello readers, I did not post an article yesterday because I was really busy with school work. Well, Iโm back. I would like to use this medium to thank my one and only sponsor @ErdoV I really appreciate you.
I would love to talk about the state of mind of school students especially high school and college students.
High school and college websites having images of happy students on their website? How? re you kidding me? Well, I wish the students of those schools are as happy as those staged and edited images on the website. I really wish I was as happy as the students used on the homepage of my University website.
Having images of happy children on an elementary school or a middle school homepage wonโt even bother me because they are actually happy due to the fact that have little or nothing to worry bout, they do not make decisions by themselves, their parents provide everything they need because they are still very young.
They are not faced with too many assignments and projects because they are still in their playing classes. Iโm obviously not against that in fact, sometimes I wish I could remain in that level for the rest of my life
Most high school and college students face a lot of challenges like depression, psychological distress relationship problems, too much workload which might lead to improper time management. In colleges and universities in the United States, suicideย is one of the most common causes of death among students.ย Each year, approximately 24,000 college students attempt suicide while 1,100 students succeed in their attempt, making suicide the second-leading cause of death among U.S. college students. The main reason behind committing suicide is depression.
Depression isย a common and serious medical illnessย that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Depression causes feelings of sadness and a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. A student who is depressed would lose interest in academic work which leads to failure.
All Iโm trying to say is that some students are not as happy as they are shown to be on the internet and in the movies. Parents should be closer to their children so as to know their challenges and also provides solutions to those problems. Also, college students should be provided with enough money by their parents or the government because college students are mostly faced with financial problems which pushes them to taking loans which they might be unable to refund hereby putting them into serious debt.
ย
****Conclusion****
Students are not as happy s they are described to be, so let us show them love and those of us who re students lets show love to one another and also inform our parents on any challenge that we are facing we are not too big to talk to our parents about certain issues that we are facing.

I hope we all learnt something from this article, have a nice time and Iโd see you in the next one.

****Grammarly****
Grammarly is an online grammar check tool that helps to detect and also corrects grammatical blunders ; bad punctuations, poor paragraphing, incorrect spellings and so on. It also helps to detect plagiarism. I use it sometimes before I'm writing my articles. In one word, Grammarly helps you prevent grammatical errors in your writings.
****Canva****
Canva is an app or tool used to create graphics contents, videos, presentations and other related things. I use Canva to design the lead images for my articles. I also help some of my friends design logos for their businesses using Canva. One good aspect of it is that you don't need to have any knowledge of graphic design. All you need to do is select a desired template and edit to your taste by changing colors and texts.

My Best Food.
Everyone loves food I'd say, though a lot would say they don't but I think that's a very big lie. But the love I have for food is extraordinary ๐.
Before I go on I'd like to appreciate my first sponsor @ErdoV I really appreciate the sponsorship, I won't disappoint you.
My best food is Fried rice and Chicken with coleslaw . I love Fried rice because it's highly nutritious and it's very tasty and the color is also very attractive (green).
I love chicken because when I was a child my mom fed me with a lot of chicken ๐, so I grew up to love chicken ๐. It's also very tasty.
**Ingredients for Fried Rice**
2 cups long grain white rice
2 large green peppers
1 small cabbage
1 large onion
ยฝ cup green beans
4 large carrots
2 cups chicken stock
ยฝ tbsp. white pepper
3 cooking spoons groundnut oil
4 large chicken thighs (or other meat of choice)
1 tsp. curry powder
1/2 Teaspoon Thyme
1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
2 Scallions
Seasoning and salt to taste
1 Cup Beef Liver Cubed
I really don't use every of those ingredients ๐I only use the one's I have it's not compulsory to use everything.
**How to prepare Fried Rice**
Parboil the chicken and liver together with the available spices ;salt, curry, thyme and seasoning. Also add some onions while cooking it.
Chop your cabbage, carrot, green peas and other veggies.
Parboil your rice with some of the chicken stock. Cook it until it is almost ready.
Pour some vegetable oil into a dry pot and allow it to hear for a while, then you add sliced onions, stir for a while.
Add the chopped veggies, some meat stock and some seasoning, then stir everything together.
Add the almost done white rice and stir everything in the pot together, then let simmer for about five minutes.
Then your tasty fried rice is done. Serve it with chicken either fried or grilled. Sometimes when I don't have chicken I eat it egg like in the picture below
That's a picture of the last fried rice I prepared, I didn't have chicken,so I used egg instead ๐ and you can also see the coleslaw besides it, I made it out of cabbage and carrot only, then I added some mayonnaise to make it creamy.
As you can see, Fried rice is very nutritious and it contains all classes of food which makes it a balanced diet.
Here's a breakdown of the classes of food it contains.
Carbohydrates - Rice
Protein - Chicken
Fat and oils - groundnut
Minerals- table salt
Vitamins - Veggies; carrot, cabbages,peas.
So that's it on my best food for now. Let me also know what your best food is I'd be waiting in the comment session.
Have a nice time guys โ๏ธ
My first year in the University: Second Semester
This is the concluding part of my first year in the University.
*"I ended the first semester with a poor GPA ๐ and I concluded within me that I was carried away with too much sport and social activities but it didn't end there I was ready to fight back and do better in the second semester ๐๐. There was even more drama in the second semester ๐. Do you want to know what happened in the second semester??"*
That's my last paragraph from the first part. If you haven't seen the first part, go through this link ;
https://read.cash/@Preshdan/my-first-year-in-the-university-first-semester-3c12370e
The second semester finally began, I was ready to do anything to make sure I have good grades this time around.
I reduced the time I spent on social activities and tried to increase the number of hours I spent on reading but then, the effect of my first semester failure started eating me up. I started to feel bad and saw my self as not being smart or brilliant, I started feeling inferior amongst my pairs.
Gradually,I started getting into depression but only few knew about it because I always hide my problems and I would always put on a fake smile . Even those that knew about it could do little or nothing to help.
The semester went on, I was still feeling depressed all along, the first test came, I failed some of my courses again; so sad right? I began to prepare for the second test. Trust me it's not easy to study when you're depressed. I would read all night at lecture theatres. Alas when the results of the second test was out, It was my better than my first semester's results.
That was what boosted my confidence and I also did well in my exams but the damage had already been done in the first semester, I didn't meet the minimum requirements in Chemistry, but who needs chemistry when computer science (my dream course doesn't need it).
I applied to change to computer science and I was accepted. I was very happy, I'm now in the department of my dreams. Though my CGPA is low but I'm in a department where I'm happy, so I should do well.
Besides I'm no longer depressed, I'm now in a good state of mind. I'm in my second year and everything is going well.
My first year served as a lesson to me, now I know what to do and what not to do.
A lot of high school and college students are facing depression and many other challenges like being broke (.
**Conclusion**
In life we might be going through a lot but let's keep striving, though it's not easy but at the end of the day, we'd be fine.
I hope we all learnt something from today's article.
Have a nice time readers, till next time.
Peace โ๏ธ

My First year in the University : First Semester
My first year in the University of Ibadan was full of events. There were lots of ups and downs and I'd love to share my experience with you, starting with the first semester.
I school at the University of Ibadan and I study Food Technology. I was happy when I gained admission because finally, I get to go to a University but Food Technology wasn't my dream course, then later I realized I could still switch to my desired course (Computer Science), if I had a very good CGPA in my first year ๐. So I was prepared to study hard.
We were supposed to resume in 2020 but due to the COVID 19 outbreak we resumed in February 2021, we started with virtual classes via Zoom and Google Meet where I got to meet some of my course mate and I also made new friends from other faculties and departments.
We continued with the virtual classes till April when we were required to resume physically. Most of our lectures were still virtual while some where physical depending on how many students were offering the course ( they were trying to take some COVID-19 precautions).
In the same month (April), I resumed into the hostel which is within the school premises, I had a roommate who was very nice and caring ; he was studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering. There were other kinds of people in my hostel (different religion and beliefs), there were times where people would fight but at the end of the day, they resolve . I guess that's just the normal hostel life ๐
Despite having a nice roommate, I don't really spend much time with him. I spend more time with James and Steven who were both roommates and also course mates. We do almost everything together; we cook together,we take care of any one of us who is sick and we also look after one another financially. I always enjoyed their company ๐
I engage in sporting activities especially football. There were lots of football tournaments within the school but I participated in few because there were better players than me ๐. There were also lots of social activities like hall gyrations, bonfire, fresher's welcome and so on (I attended almost everything)
I also stroll around the school in the evenings. Sometimes I visit some of my female course mates and friends at the female hostel.
Things went on and on and before I knew it, our test started and to my greatest surprise I failed most of the courses, I began to ask myself; *'I used to be really smart in high school, what's happening? ',* It was then it dawned on me that the system is very different from the way it was in high school*.* Shortly after the test, we started exams, leaving me with little time to prepare. The results came out and it wasn't so good as well ๐ญ๐ญ.
I ended the first semester with a poor GPA ๐ and I concluded within me that I was carried away with too much sport and social activities but it didn't end there I was ready to fight back and do better in the second semester ๐๐. There was even more drama in the second semester ๐. Do you want to know what happened in the second semester??
Subscribe and stay tuned for the next part. Bye for now ๐.
