Growing up is all fun and cool cause we get the chance to pick some name our friends would call us, I'm sure everyone has a special name or nickname that people know them for, some people's nicknames are so common people don't know their real name, in the life, everyone would like to make a name for themselves, a unique name that when mention, they would know who exactly they are referring to.

The pain of picking a wrong nickname at the early stage before realizing it wasn't a name that befits you, in the long run, can be detrimental. I would share a short true life story that might explain it better.

A story

While I was still very young, I was in high school, a very gentle boy who doesn't like trouble or getting into one, all I just wanted to do was learn and go back home, eat, sleep, watch movies and enjoy my life as a kid.

In the class I was in, there was a girl that bears the same name I have, and it was the name that had been known or people call us both in our different local (Tioluwa) any time a teacher calls me, we would both answer and same goes for her, and that mark the first nickname I would ever have TBOYGENTLE and the girl was known as TGIRL. Now the issue is, I really love the nickname, all the social media I opened then, it was the nickname I used then, since our name both starts from the Letter "T" I'm a boy and she's a girl, so it went well. I enjoyed people calling me that, the name spread outside the school, and people in the call me that Nickname too.

Currently, I'm not a boy anymore, I'm a young man, I don't like the name like I used to, though anytime I'm asked about my nickname, the name does cross my mind but not often, and I can never think of using it ever again. Some of my oldest friends still do call me that, and I answer them out of respect, not often, only when they want to get on my nerves

Another time I picked a wrong username

Though at this time, I had the perfect nickname that would have been the best username on all social platforms, this was dated back before I joined readcash, a friend @Kristofferquincy introduced me to noisecash, back then I was watching an anime series titled #BLACKCLOVER and I was so much in love with one of the characters I decided to use his name for my noisecash account, the name of the character is Asta, after months of using the account with I enjoyed, it was when I joined Readcash I knew I had made a big mistake in choosing that username, I'm glad I'm making a name for myself on this platform, but anytime I want to refer to my noisecash account, the name doesn't match my Readcash name, I have seen many people on readcash also on noisecash without introducing themselves, the name alone makes me know who they are since I already met them here on readcash, people like @FarmGirl and many more from #Club1BCH. My name is FashTioluwa which is gotten from my surname and my first name Fashanu Tioluwanimi.

In conclusion

I can use FashTioluwa on any platform, and I love the name even when people call me. Name is very important to people, so people you go around picking a nickname or username, think very well, it might be from that platform your fame will come. Have a great day.

Till we meet again, either in your article or mine.

The nickname is very important. If the nickname is bad, it won't leave us for the rest of our lives, we can't get rid of it.

TBoyGentle, i hail ooh Baami 🀟😁 Well well well!!!! You made a good choice by picking the present nickname "FashTioluwa" you're using. When one's nickname is the same all over his social media handles, he would be easily identified.

We usually call little boys here "Ambot" and little girls "Ambit." When my cousins came home some months ago, it still slips my mind that they are not longer boys and girls but young men and women. Still, I say it as a form of endearment :)

Omo, when choosing a nickname, it's better to think ahead before choosing one, though I don't see anything wrong with Tboy, maybe because you see it as people will look down on you with the name. Burnaboy is 30 and he's still answering the same, what I am trying to say is that, when you change nickname too often, it will discourage people, I have a friend that has changed his nickname more than 3 times in less than 4

I have two nick, I prefer the one gotten out of my surname.. Though I still answer to the two names but I prefer the second.. Only the oldest friends of mine still call me Tboy. But I wouldn't want to use it as a name on any social platform

Well, I love your nickname, it seems very unique and original, especially because I can remember you just by reading the name. I think the name is not important, the important thing is the essence that it give your person

Yeah, you're right too, also if you pick a wrong name. People can read meaning to the name at first before meeting you

Just like how our names are very important to us, so also is nicknames. We need to be careful which nick will decide to be using and it must be for everything you do, so when people see you, they can easily recognize you.

In all social platforms, I use Princessbusayo and it has been famous everywhere. I only use buzhay randomly at home. People around me call me buzhay but on social media, it is Princessbusayo.

I had a lot of nicknames made by the people around me, and I think the worst of all is to be called as Y2k, that is the ugliest nickname that I have, it was given by my former classmate in high school who is some kind of a bully.

As for me, I find username important because it is where your reputation starts. They will remember you by the username you'll use, so it would be best to give it a great shot.

Exactly my point, it would be good to think very well of a name before you make it known to the public because your name define who you're

Lol, when I was young, they didn't give me any nickname... I guess it happened because I was not really the social kind of person. Lol, but Tboy shaar. πŸ€” It's still cool anyways. But Fash fits you better, just as you're using it now.

Is it that there's no way for you to change your username on noisecash??

Ella, there is no way for me to change it.... I would have changed it tipe tipe..

Yah, my sisters and aunties still do call me Tboy once in a while.. The name went far gan, when they want to ask me for something and make my head swell, they use Tboy.. So it like a special nickname now.. Only few people know it.
